Story
Cane is a sweet, gentle cat who came to our rescue from a high-kill shelter in 2020, along with another kitty named Bane (adopted). At first, Cane was very fearful of people and would keep to himself or hide whenever visitors were around. But with time, he’s gradually learned to trust and has built up enough confidence to venture out from our Shy Cat area to mingle with visitors, albeit from a safe distance. It’s very clear from Cane’s body language that he’s right on the cusp of taking that next step and maybe allowing a gentle pet or two. Cane would love nothing more than to find a quiet, supportive home with understanding caretakers who are willing to let him bloom on his own terms and pace. We aren’t sure how he’d do around dogs, but he gets along fine with the other cats at the Goathouse and would likely not mind sharing a home with another easy-going, non-dominant cat. Approx. Story
Chucky is a brown tabby kitty was found wandering all by himself. A concerned neighbor found him and brought him to the Refuge. Chucky is a really good boy who likes to play with the feather-teaser or wiggle-worm (he tries to steal them & run off, so you gotta hold on tight!). He also plays with Anna (the orange & white tabby girl with one eye) and is like her gentle big brother when she gets spicy with him! He's starting to trust the volunteers a little more now and will sniff a hand when it's gently held close to him. We know he wants to interact more but he's just a little nervous, so he needs time and patience in a quiet, loving home and he will shine! We highly recommend visiting with him and getting to know his sweet personality! Approx. DOB: 10/30/20201) Complete our online adoption application: Visit www.goathouserefuge.org/adoption-application/ to get started! 2) Arrange to visit the cat(s) in person3) Complete a home visit: Once you confirm that you've visited in person with the cat(s) of interest and completed the online application, your responses will be reviewed by the refuge staff so that a volunteer member of our home visit team can contact you to schedule a visit. Only after a representative of the refuge has visited the applicant's home will the refuge consider continuing with the adoption process.

Story
Katty (aka Fluffy Tail) is a beautiful, ear-tipped tabby with a gorgeous, flowing tail. She arrived at Goathouse Refuge on April 14th and is looking for her forever home. She was a friendly stray that made great process in trusting the humans that took to feeding her. She also made friends with all the neighborhood cats and could even been seen taking an interest in the possums and raccoons at night, so she would do well in a home with other animals. She is a sweetheart that enjoys neck scratches and playing with balls and stuffed toys. She is still shy and would need time to warm up, trust and learn to be a lap cat, but she was well on her way to becoming a loving house cat. Come meet this sweet girl and be mesmerized by her beauty!DOB 4/1/2020"Sponsored" means that Katty's adoption fee has been covered in full by a generous donor. That means you can take her home for free, and spend that saved adoption fee on more food, litter, and toys for your new friend! Or you can pay it forward and sponsor another cat or donate the fee to the Goathouse! If interested in adopting from the Goathouse Refuge, please plan to take the following steps required in our adoption process:1. Home Visit: All adoption applications will be reviewed by the refuge staff, and if the applicant seems to be a good fit for the cat(s) of interest, the refuge will contact the interested party to set up a home visit. Only after a representative of the refuge conducts a home visit will the refuge then consider continuing with the adoption process.

Story
Hera is a little shy and she's looking for her forever home. She would love to be adopted with one of her kitty friends near her age. Come out to the Refuge to see if pretty Hera or one of her kitty friends is the kitty you have been looking for to make you the lucky one! Approx. DOB - 6/6/2021Please be aware that we have a policy of not adopting out kittens until they are 4 months old, and then only to families with no children under the age of six years. We require that kittens be adopted in pairs until they are 5 months old, as they are very bonded to their siblings and can become quite depressed and stressed due to the separation. Kittens must be at least 9 months old before they are adopted into homes with children under the age of six years. Interested in adopting a Goathouse cat or kitten? If your application indicates an interest in a cat currently in foster or at Cat Tales Cat Cafe, we will inform you on steps to take to arrange a cafe or foster visit. 3) Complete a home visit: Once you confirm that you've visited in person with the cat(s) of interest and completed the online application, your responses will be reviewed by the refuge staff so that a volunteer member of our home visit team can contact you to schedule a visit. Story
Marbles came to the Goathouse Refuge as a surrender, along with his mom Precious and littermates Reece, Marley, Reagan, and Riley. Marbles is a beautiful orange kitty with medium length fur; his right eye was removed due to a bad infection, but this doesn’t bother him in the least as he’s completely at ease navigating around the Goathouse. Marbles would prefer a home without small kids or dogs, but he does get along well with other cats. In particular, we’ve often caught him sharing friendly head-bumps with Grayson, Goldie, and Mandy, and he’d be thrilled to find a home with one of these buddies. he can be a littles shy so you may have to seek him out when you visit, but just ask a volunteer to assist with an introduction. We promise Marbles is well worth the patience! DOB: 08/08/2021
