Story
We need to find a new home for our Sushi cat. She was a feral kitten we adopted at around 10 weeks. She was very shy and timid at first, but quickly came around to humans. However, we have tried extensively to acclimate her to our dogs as best as we can, but after 6 months of trying, she just does not do well with them. We believe she needs to be in a home where she can be the only pet OR perhaps with other cats, but not dogs. The situation isn’t fair to her or the dogs and it isn’t getting better. So. As much as I hate it, it’s time. - 8 months old. - Not yet spayed. - UTD on all vaccines. - more pictures and info available upon request.

Story
Zahara is a very sweet little kitty. She is 4 years old but a size of a kitten. She loves attention and will purr for you. She is a very outgoing kitty. She likes to play and is good with scratching posts.  Zoe is around 1 year old. She has some cattitude but she loves to be by hooman side. Brushing her is a way to bond. She absolutely loves brush time. Zoe likes catnip toys, scratching posts and run zoomies.  Girls were owner surrenders. Now they need the most loving family.  To adopt, please submit adoption application online.  ##2245446##

Story
Oreo was found abandoned in an animal crate on a busy street in Raleigh, NC in July. There was no information left with him. He was very dirty and looked like he hadn't eaten in some time. Oreo was brought home and separated from our other cats to recuperate and get used to being inside another home. Also, he was taken to a vet to be neutered and given some shots. Also the vet said he had an ear infection and heart worms. The vet gave us medication for the ear infection and heart worms. Since his arrival he has become friendly and laid back cat. He's pretty strong and does well with the other cats around him. He doesn't seem to retaliate when another cat hisses at him and usually walks away when that happens. So we don't believe he is confrontational. We're not sure how he does with dogs or children. Unfortunately, we cannot keep him due to a loss of income. We would like to see Oreo go to a comforting home rather than the shelter.

Story
My name is Sweet Dee and I was born on September 1, 2024. I am a funny little clown of a kitten who makes my foster parents laugh every day with my antics. I’m pretty vocal and will chat with you about anything. My favorite toys are puffballs, roller tracks, and kickers. I have a cute little stripe of caramel on my head and another dab on my tail. My foster Mom says it’s because I’m so sweet. I like to stay active and am always exploring new things. One look at me will get my purr motor going and I will snuggle in for a nap when things are quiet. I get along great with cats and cat-savvy dogs. I’d love to go to a home with my sister, Artemis but should do fine as long as I have a playmate. If you’re looking for some excitement and a best friend for life, I’m your gal. Are you interested in adopting Sweet Dee or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received. Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org , faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center or Timber Drive next to Home Depot). We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application. Thanks for thinking adoption!
