Story
Meet Pecan! Pecan is our young black kitten who arrived to our facility with his siblings Pistachio, Almond, and Chestnut. He's currently trying his best to figure out this big scary world with his sister Chestnut at our Rehoboth location. The first week or so he was here, him and his sister did not want to leave their little condo. But the two of them recently were brave enough to venture out into the free roaming kitten room. Pecan is doing pretty well and has made several new feline friends but he does still scurry away when any humans try to come into the room. Pecan is definitely a pro at finding the best hiding places! Pecan's purfect home would be with a family that will be patient and continue to work with him to help build his confidence. Kittens require a significant amount of patience and training to learn how to behave properly in a home. The first few months of having a kitten is a critical time to improve socialization and help your kitten become confident. Exposing your kitten to all kinds of touch, sounds, people, and animals can ensure a well-socialized adult cat. Remember, kittens aren't born knowing how to live in a human's world, it is up to you to teach them how to make good decisions in a positive and caring manner. The more positive interactions they have in their first year of life will set them up for better behavior in the future. If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
This new friend has just arrived! They have come to us either as a transfer from another shelter, being found as a stray, or have been surrendered to us by their owner. When our friends are new to us, we are typically unsure of their full background, litter box habits, comfort with handling, or experience with other pets or children. Our staff will spend some time reviewing any information provided by previous owners and spend some time with our new friend so that we can better update their biography. Story
Who loves candy? We do! Meet Snickers (F) and Milky Way (M), two adorable kittens from the same feral litter who have become part of our volunteer family. These sweet babies are now 17 weeks old and just had their big day—they’ve been spayed, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped! ? They’ll be ready for rehoming in the next few weeks, and we’re looking for loving homes where they can continue their journey to becoming the snuggle bugs they’re meant to be. Although they’ve been enjoying the comforts of a large kitty condo enclosure (and getting a bit spoiled), they still need a little extra love and patience to fully come out of their shells. If you’re interested in giving Snickers or Milky Way a forever home, please send us a message. We’ll arrange meet & greets, check vet references, and possibly do a home check to ensure they find the perfect fit. We’re committed to finding these kittens an indoor life filled with love, so if you can’t adopt, please share this post and help spread the word! More individual bios coming soon. Let’s give Snickers & Milky Way the sweet homes they deserve! ?? For more information. (410) 808-7132 teresekrout@gmail.com Our typical turnaround time for applications is within 1-2 weeks. - Once your application is approved, an email will be sent to you. We work by appointment only. After you fill out a online application. Our cats and kittens are handled daily by different volunteers to socialize them. Most of our cats and kittens are allowed time to play freely and interact with each other. All our cats are spayed and neutered. LITTER BOX TRAINED, given Feline vaccines and treated for fleas/.
