Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Perf is a sweet, kind soul who has the potential to blossom into the perfect kitty for the right family. Right now, she is frightened by loud noises and activity, so a quiet home with humans she can trust will be essential. She doesn't really care about anything beyond keeping herself safe. She came from a hoarder situation and you can tell. Perf does find respite in other cats and would do best with an outgoing companion animal to show her that life is good and she is worth more than hiding all day long. Does your family have what it takes to make this sweet girl feel safe and welcome? We are confident she will thrive once she's feeling comfortable with a loving family. Perf was rescued from a hoarder situation. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Anise was one of the last kittens to be rescued from a property with many litters of cats and was tiny and malnourished. She still needs to put on some weight and she is very, very small for her age - but she's doing great! Due to her malnourishment she hides her food under blankets, or wherever she can, but hopefully over time she'll know she will always have a yummy meal waiting for her. Anise fits perfectly into the traditional personality traits of torties - she is quiet independent. While she isn't likely going to be the type to sit on your lap for pets, she will allow us to pet her and she does love to snuggle in with her siblings. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Lainey! Lainey is a quiet, relaxed girl that loves to cuddle! She enjoys chasing her sisters around, but is easily distracted trying to get the attention of whoever is in the room. She will always make her presence in any room known by gently sitting next to you in an attempt to ask for pets. She purrs loudly when she is pet down her back, and under her chin. Although she’s always been much less troublesome from her siblings, it is no secret Lainey loves to play! Consistently she is found chasing her sisters around the room, and instigating playful attacks on them. Like her sister Daria, Lainey can be more reserved at times. Instead of playing with her littermates, she will graciously observe them from the cat tree.   Lainey is from an owner surrender with her Mother and 3 siblings. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *This animal is located at our same-day adoption center partner, Coon Rapids PetSmart. Please contact this location prior to visiting to ensure this animal is still available. A paper adoption application will be completed on site so please do not submit an online adoption application. For more information on adopting from one of our adoption center partners, please visit our Adoption Center Animals page. Meet Madame, the fluffy, fun-loving cat who’s equal parts playful and snuggly! As a kitten, she had a bit of a bossy streak, but as she’s grown, she’s blossomed into a sweet, affectionate companion who adores being around other cats and humans alike. Madame has inherited a few cheeky habits from her mother, including a knack for stealing any unattended food. But don’t worry—she makes up for it with her love of snuggling and her entertaining antics. She’s known for zooming around the house with boundless energy, often slipping off surfaces or bumping into walls, only to try again with relentless determination. Madame doesn’t always think through her decisions, but that just adds to her charming, slightly clumsy personality. While she’s not a fan of being held, Madame is incredibly affectionate when it comes to cuddling. If she wants to snuggle, she’s determined to make it happen, whether it’s with you, another cat, or even your favorite cozy spot. Her day starts early, filled with playful energy, and after a quick nap, she’s back to zooming around until it’s time to settle down for dinner and a bedtime snuggle. Madame loves to be close to her people and fellow cats, making her the perfect companion for a home with lots of love and cozy nooks for her to snuggle up in. If you’re looking for a cat who’s full of personality, loves to play, and will be your constant cuddle buddy, Madame is the perfect fit! Click here for a cute video of me when I was a little younger! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. She is shy with a gentle, quiet demeanor and will warm up after she feels safe and comfortable to reveal her silly, playful, rambunctious, confident side. She'll do best in a quiet, calm home with routine preferably with someone who's patient, home alot and ideally with another friendly cat with the same sweet nature. And like most cats she hates the vacuum cleaner but will not flinch when I sneeze! Check out this adorable video of her playing in the cat tree! With her expressive face, unique markings, and long, silky tail, Miss Misou is a real beauty. She is so cute w hen she rolls over for tummy pets, her purring when I feed her, and her squeaky meows.
