Story
Templeton and his brother were taken from an especially rough hoarding situation. Police intervened and all animals were extracted. It took a while for Templeton to overcome his fear of being hurt, but he did it! And is he ever a silly boy! He would thrive in a home with another mild mannered cat, and currently lives with calm dogs. If you want to know more about this cat, email us here: wacvolunteers@gmail.com! * AGE: 2 years old * TEMPERAMENT: Lap cat, would be ok as a solitary or with another mild cat * Why are they at the shelter? Rescued by police * Any Health issues? None known but can be nervous in hectic surroundings * How are they with other cats? Dogs? Good but needs to be with gentle animals * Volunteer Comments? " Templeton is such a brave cat!" "He loves brushing and attention." Thank you for your interest in adopting a shelter cat! NOW HOW DO I MEET OR ADOPT THIS CAT? !. Go to our website at wacshelter.com. 2. Click on the "Apply To Adopt" button to submit an online adoption application. ** NOTE: You will get an email confirmation that we have received your application. If you do not see this email appear upon submission, please check your "spam" folder. 3. Your application will be processed and a volunteer adoption counselor will call or email with any questions. ** NOTE: If any questions are left unanswered or incomplete, the application cannot be processed. A completely filled out application will take 1-3 days to process! Missing or inaccurate answers may invalidate the application. 4. We will set up a time with you to meet the animal you've applied to adopt! ** NOTE: Our volunteers strive to make the best possible match once the application is accepted. Our goal is a fit that benefits both the cat and the home! ** We DO give preference to applicants with verifiable pet experience. All cats are spayed/neutered, FeLV/FIV negative unless otherwise indicated. All cats are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. All of our resident cats use their litter boxes unless otherwise indicated. Cats are naturally inclined to use a litter box. Cat Fact: If a domestic cat is not using a litter box THEY ARE TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING IS WRONG! It should never be ignored! Your cat is depending on you for help. Our adoption fee for felines is $65. That covers the cost of spay/neuter, FeLV/FIV test, deworming, flea prevention (if applicable) and vaccinations (if applicable). We look forward to meeting you! Story
Due to technical issues with some adoption sites, please email us directly at info@sheltertohome.com to inquire about adopting or to ask questions. Please include the animal's name in the email. Birthdate Feb 14th,2015 What Valentine needs. A home with no other pets or young kids. A home that will understand her opinion. A home that will love her forever A quiet less busy house What Valentine currently has A foster home with other cats and large dogs A foster home with a young child A foster home that understands her opinions Valentine loves to nap on the foot of my recliner, on the back of my recliner and a spot on my bed where she won't be disturbed. She likes to get pets but not so much that puts her on edge. She allows me to trim her toe nails, wipe her eyes once in a while and she likes to be brushed. She doesn't love going to the vet so she needs a little something to help her stay calm. She loves me and my husband just not the rest of the hustle and bustle of the house, I had foster kittens and she was ok with them but the other adults seem to be her biggest issue. She is not a hider, she is social. When agitated she has swiped and occasionally used her teeth. I don't think she means to hurt as she has tried to bite me when I have pushed her so I could get a feel for her. She puts her teeth on you but doesn't really bite to injure. If you pull away you may get a scratch. I keep her nails trimmed so swipes don't have the opportunity to scratch. But in a calm less intimidating home I don't feel like this would be an issue. **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Please visit our website at sheltertohome.com for information on our adoption process.**November 5, 2024, 10:11 am

Story
Due to technical issues with some adoption sites, please email us directly at info@sheltertohome.com to inquire about adopting or to ask questions. Please include the animal's name in the email. Hi, my name is Simon. I'm 12 years old, have FIV, and feline herpes. When Shelter to Home found me, I was quite a mess and really needed help. I had what is known as keratitis, and it created ulcers on both of my corneas. It was severe enough to require surgery on both eyes. This problem can be contagious to other cats when there is inflammation. My foster mom always keeps Terramycin (an eye medication) on hand in case I start to get weepy eyes. She is always looking at my eyes, drives me catty but I know it's for the best. I am feeling much better now that my eyes have healed from surgery. If you are not familiar with my conditions, please ask or Google it. I am currently living with my foster mom and a few other cats, who I love. I'm great at playing with the others and chasing them around the house when I'm not batting at the mouse that hangs down from the ceiling. I love batting toys around with my paws, and I'm great at it! I am an independent cat. I love hugs, and people, but I'm not the type of cat that will snuggle with someone for a long time while they watch tv or read. I would rather be nearby sleeping in a nice cat bed. As an older cat, I am set in my ways, and I'm looking for a home that will love me for who I am. I need someone who won't mind occasionally having to put medication in my eyes and who will be diligent about taking me to the vet for check-ups. The FIV will affect my immune system, so it's important that I see a vet for things like senior blood panels and to make sure my teeth are in good shape. Are you that someone? **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. Duke was born 12/15/19 Duke, or Boo Radly as I call him, is just about perfect.  He will lay on my lap for hours getting belly rubs.  He doesn't get on my counters or cause trouble.  He won't take treats from my hand, but he will eat them out of his food bowl.  Duke is a little leary around strangers, but he's out and about with me all of the time.  He really loves all types of toys and we have a lot of playtime every day.  We also have plenty of conversations because he's a talker...if you talk to him, he'll talk back. If you'd like to have your own conversations with Duke, please contact us!  **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter.
