Story
Melanie is a beautiful 9-year-old medium haired tortoiseshell-tabby kitty looking for her forever home. Her favorite activities are looking out the window, laying in boxes, and chasing after toys. She also loves to try to eat people food, especially stroganoff and anything cheesy. Her fosters are honored that she likes their cooking!! But it is in Melanie's best interest to only eat cat food. Melanie is a playful girl and an excellent jumper. She can jump up to every window in her foster house! She likes to play with toy mice, and play "soccer" with whiffle balls. She keeps her area very neat and tidy - despite being fluffy, she isn't a big shedder. And she gives the best headbutts! When she wants to show she loves you, she rubs up on your legs or gives a little 'bonk'. If you become one of her select favorite people, she'll sit on your lap too. Melanie loves meeting new people, she's not one to hide. While she can be very sweet and affectionate, she doesn't usually like to be pet because she can become overstimulated. She gives clear warning signs when she wants to be left alone, but she will nip or smack if you don't respect her limits. Before she was rescued, Melanie was left outside when her old family moved away. She has a severe flea allergy and needs to stay on flea preventative in her forever home. Melanie had full senior bloodwork done, and she is in great health. Melanie is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Story
Hello, world! My name is Taiko, and I'm here to tell you about me and my wonderful mommy, Ochiba. We're a bonded pair looking for our forever home together! I’m a playful and affectionate 4-month-old girl kitten with long, smoky gray fur. I love being around humans just as much as I adore my mommy. My mommy, Ochiba, is a beautiful 2-year-old all-black cat. She’s a bit shy at first and will need some time to feel comfortable in a new home, but she's full of love. Our story began at the Detroit Animal Care and Control (DACC) shelter. Mommy was very overprotective of me, her only baby, and they had to separate us. It was so sad—Mommy was scared and about to be put to sleep because of her behavior. But then we were rescued and brought into a loving foster home where we could be together again. Mommy cried and trilled until she found me, and now we always sleep and cuddle together. We're fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped, ready for our new family. If you’re looking for a pair of loving, bonded kitties, please apply to meet and adopt us today! With purrs and cuddles, Taiko (and Ochiba) Taiko and Ochiba are currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting them, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.
