Story
Meet Dylan! She was the 'runt' of the litter but has quickly surpassed her siblings in size. When she's done playing, she loves pets and belly rubs. We do not have any history on this kitten's previous life or experiences. Since they are so young, they would likely do well in any type of home. They should be introduced slowly to any resident animals in your house. If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of three ways: Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt. **the below two methods are slower than visiting us** Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours. Check out the video (above, with the pictures) for top tips on how to bring a kitten like this home with you and integrate them into your home! All kitten adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccination (if over 12 weeks of age) -current on distemper vaccines (will need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.

Story
Meet Sophie! She was the largest of the litter but her siblings got jealous and put on extra weight to compete. She is adventurous and loves to explore. When she's tired, she is snuggled with her sister Dylan, who is also available for adoption. We do not have any history on this kitten's previous life or experiences. Since they are so young, they would likely do well in any type of home. They should be introduced slowly to any resident animals in your house. Story
Nike is a modern day Garfield, minus the orange hair and lasagna. He is a couch potato who loves to be pet and snuggle Nike loves to bird watch and chase a laser pointer when he isn’t snuggled on the top of the couch Food is his favorite! He does not over eat, but he is a hefty boy, approximately 18lbs. He does have a short tail, he was born that way, but he is perfectly healthy and it does not affect him Unfortunately he needs a new house as our new baby is allergic to him. He does shed a bit which causes allergies to her. I’m hoping he can find a loving home as soon as possible

Story
Caramel and Dipstick are very sweet cats. They are just over three years old. These two are a bonded pair and must go together. Unfortunately, a household member has developed a very bad allergy to the cats and they can not stay with us anymore. They deserve a loving home where they do not have to be segregated from the family. Both cats were given to our family as kittens by an aunt and have been around small children and dogs. They are very friendly and loving. Caramel loves to be held like a baby and to have his belly rubbed. Dipstick is incredibly silly and curious. They love to play together and are frequently zooming around together. Otherwise, they love to snuggle on their tower. They are indoor cats and are litter box trained.

Story
Floof is a distinguished gentleman worthy of his fluffy name, of about 1 1/2 years! He is gentle, quiet, affectionate, curious and playful. He is more confident with his brother Kitty around, and they love playing and spending time together and with their caretaker- especially wand and laser toys! Sir Floof is more on the independent side but will come for cuddles and belly rubs. He is very good about having his nails trimmed and will “ragdoll” when picked up. He likes to have his face buried when being held. Floof is very gentle and does not bite or claw, and I have heard him hiss only once. This boy is the epitome of “freeze” in fight, flight or freeze. A very gentle soul, scared of loud noises and strangers. ~~~ Floof and Kitty are bonded siblings and must be adopted together. Please reach out if interested in these two brothers!

Story
Emelia is a sweet, beautiful 1 ½ yr old cat with long hair, who arrived with mom and brother, Luca. Mom was adopted and the two siblings have bonded while at the shelter. They would likely be most comfortable in a quieter home where they can take their time to adjust and see that they are safe and sound. A little shy at the shelter, she enjoys being pet and having Churus, when approached slowly. With the right encouragement and environment, we think that the two will flourish once adopted! This cat is waiting for it's Forever Home! Email adoptions@ctcatconnection.org with a question or better yet, complete an application for quickest consideration. (Application: https://www.ctcatconnection.org/adoption-application/). Please consider fostering a cat or dog by applying on our website.A cat's behavior in the shelter is usually not what it will be like in your home; if the cat is nervous, anxious, or agitated, please know that a shelter is a very stressful place for a cat.Kitten Policy: It is important to understand that the socialization of kittens with other animals as playmates is important for their development. Therefore, CT Cat Connection has a policy that kittens and teenagers up to 12 months of age are adopted in pairs unless there is another animal in the household as a playmate and companion.Due to demand, we cannot place cats or kittens on hold. Your visit to the shelter is to meet any cat or kitten available for adoption at the time of visit. If you or anyone you know is interested in helping the shelter, we are always looking for foster families of our cats and dogs, as well as in-person volunteers, to assist with animal care. Fill out an application, which can be found at https://www.ctcatconnection.org/get-involved/
