Meet Bigsby, also known as Ms. Bigg, a pretty grey and cream tabby who is about eight or nine years old.    Bigsby is a dog in a cat's body, according to her foster's friends. She earned this reputation by coming out of the woodwork and demanding attention from them whenever they visit. Without fail, as soon as a visitor sits in her favorite chair, she assumes this is an invitation to get attention and sprawls on their chest and shoulder and purrs. When her foster worked from home, she was the Official Office Cat and was often the unintentional star of a few Zoom/Teams meetings; her foster has since RTO'd, which makes Bigsby sad. She is very affectionate and wants to be with her people.   Currently, she's living in a house with a few other cats and a couple of big dogs (coonhounds); she doesn't create issues with any of them, though she's not exactly snuggly with them, either. She would likely do just fine as a solo cat or in a household with other pets. Beyond human attention and the standard food, water and a clean litter box, she needs just one thing every day: allergy medication. Meet Charger and Challenger: Your Gentle Giants in Need of Tender Love and Care! Are you ready to welcome a pair of adorable feline companions into your life? Sweet Sue is a Torti adult girl who has had a wonderful resurrection from being discovered as a young barn cat to now living inside a wonderful foster home where she has all the comforts that a cat would need.  She is wonderful with other cats but not a playmate to any of the cats.  She just coexists in her more serious state of mind. This rescued stray came to Critter Cavalry Rescue after being taken in as a stray by a compassionate single man living in a condo in Nashville, TN .  Leo Starbuck came in as a very scared and out of sorts cat that had a lot of emotional sorting out to do.  All this boy needed was reassuring love that was consistent and some time to know what a cat loving home was like.  This handsome boy has gorgeous, gray, bengal-like markings.  He is all boy; solid muscle and all he wants to do now is sit in the lap of his foster mom and give kisses and hugs and a lot of love. He needed a place to blossom and boy has he blossomed!  He now jumps up onto his foster Mom’s lap, ready for his head and neck scratches!  Or he rolls over next to her to entice more “good boy” praise and rubs.  Once the toy wand is picked up, game on!  He can chase that wand for a solid hour!  He has recently discovered the 3-tiered plastic ball toy.  He so wants to get those balls out!  He and his 8 month old foster roommate play chase in their cat room, as they exchange friendly “chirps”.  Leo is very patient with this younger kitten.  It is so rewarding to see him thrive!  Although he may be timid at first, this one-and-a-half year old deserves his furrever home and a new loving owner.  Do you have the patience to gain Leo’s trust?  That is all he needs, a little time and patience and the rewards will be unbelievable.  Good boy, Leo! Meet Big Mac! Big Mac came to us as a stray in May 2023 and has unfortunately been a frequent flier in our care. Big Mac is very easy-going after he gets all of his energy out! He loves to run around and play with his brother and the other cats in our free-roam cattery and has been a big fan of tunnel toys! Big Mac is on the more reserved side compared to his brother but is just as loving. He prefers butt scratches and head rubs over being held but will happily rub against your legs when he comes to check out what you are up to! Big Mac can be a little bit of a bully when it comes to other cats and may do better in a home with just his brother. While not required we would love to see Big Mac go into a home with his brother, Ronald McDonald as they have been together for so long in our care. This handsome boy came to us along with his buddies Uno and Dos in January 2024 and is looking for a quiet home to call his own. Olaf is one of our more skittish kittens at this time but we know with the right amount of patience and time, he will blossom into a wonderful cat! We do believe Olaf would do best in a home with another cat to keep him company and help boost his confidence. Olaf is a lot of talk when it comes to him being surprised and will do little hisses until he realizes that you are not going to hurt him. He likes gentle, slow pets and does not mind being picked up as long as it is on his own terms. A quiet home with not a lot of activity would be the best fit for Olaf until he learns that the world is not as scary as he thought! He is slowly starting to show little bits of his personality here with us and staff and volunteers can occasional catch him tussling with one of his siblings or playing with toys. Say hello to Dakota! This pretty girl was brought to us as a stray in April 2024 and has been waiting patiently to find her forever home. Dakota would prefer to find a quiet home that has lots of patience to allow her to blossom into her true personality! While she has been timid on our adoption floor, she has allowed little peeks of her sweet side to show through. When it is quiet she is happy to get gentle pets and you can even catch her batting around toys occasionally! Dakota loves to curl up in a comfy bed or even a blanket, so plenty of cozy spots in her forever home would be greatly appreciated! Due to her shy nature, we have not seen Dakota with any other animals while in our care but would not be opposed to trying her in a home with other furry friends. We would recommend that any children in her potential adoptive home are on the older side or at the very least respectful and understanding that she is not going to want a lot of attention at first. If you have some extra TLC to give and would like to allow this senior girl to live out her senior years in your home, then be sure to stop by and visit with her today! Meet the very handsome and very fluffy, Snow! Snow was brought to AHS after his owner was no longer able to care for him and is looking for a relaxed home where he can spend his time sunbathing and watching the world go by! Snow did test FIV positive and while he has shown no signs of being bothered at this time, any potential homes will have to be aware that he may need future medical care due to that. Snow is an extremely easy going kitty who likes gentle pets and curling up in the coziest spots he can find. Snow is more than happy with napping the day away and will even let you hold him like a baby when he is in the mood for cuddles. He would be perfect for someone looking for a laid-back cat to hang out around the house with. Snow did previously live with other cats. As he has tested positive for FIV he would need to have cat buddies that are not interested in picking a fight with him. Other than that, he would be more then happy to have a kitty pal to keep him company! Stop in and visit with Snow if you are looking for a lazy companion to join your home! Meet Midnight Mouse! This gentle kitty came to us November 2024 after her owner was no longer able to care for her. She has been having a tough time adjusting to the shelter environment and would love a quiet place she can call her forever home! Midnight Mouse was surrendered to us with several other cats, one of which is her best buddy, Puddin. These two are very attached to one another and we are hoping they will be adopted together or at the very least into a home with a cat to keep them company. Midnight Mouse is not a mean cat in anyway but is very timid. Most often she can be found hiding under her blankets or under a bed if she is not curled up with Puddin. She will allow you to hold her and she likes gentle head pets when she is looking for attention. A quiet home that will allow Midnight Mouse to come out of her shell at her own speed would be the best fit for her! Midnight Mouse lived with several other cats and definitely thrives better with their company. We would recommend that if she does not go with Puddin, that there is another cat in the home for her to cuddle up with. As Midnight Mouse is so shy, we would recommend that any kids in the home be respectful of the fact that she may not always want human company or attention. Say hello to Aslan! This handsome boy came to us as a stray in November 2024 and is on the hunt for his forever home! If you are looking for a cat with a LOT of personality, than Aslan is certainly the boy for you. Fluffy- Aslan tends to explore the world and greet his human friends mouth first with either a little nibble or a lick. He always does the same behaviors when he asks for more pets or when he is playing! Due to this, he may not be the best fit for everyone, especially if you don't like the feeling of little love bites! Aslan is a very affectionate kitty who loves his pets and doesn't mind being brushed either. He is a kitty that prefers not to be picked up, but will happily rub all over your hands or legs when he wants some loving. He has not been exceedingly energetic while in our care, but is happy to roll around and bat around a cat nip toy or two. We have not seen Aslan extensively with other cats but he has been a grouch on occasion with the others. He may do best as the only furry friend in his forever home! As Aslan has all that fluffy fur, he will need regular brushing to help prevent any mats and keep him looking as handsome as can be! Stop by and visit Aslan if he sounds like the kitty for you!
