Story
Dracula is around 5 months old. He was found with his siblings at a local restaurant. He is a shy boy at first but once he warms up, he loves to cuddle! If you are interested in making Drac a part of your family, fill out an application at www.barktownrescue.org.    DRAC'S ADOPTION FEE IS $100The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess.    Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up.  All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Portions of your adoption fee also help care for the sick and injured animals that we take in.  Thank you for supporting us and considering a rescue dog!    November 27, 2024, 8:48 pm

Story
Hanzo is an extremely sweet, loving, affectionate, and snuggly cat. At about 3 months old, he ended up with a broken back leg. He went through surgery and had a metal rod and screws put in his leg. They were not removed. A few months after his surgery and recovery, we noticed that he started to have seizures during his sleep and he would pee. We took him to the vet to see if anything could be done, but unfortunately since they are in his sleep they stated that there was nothing to be done. He does get scared when outsiders come to our home that he doesn’t know and will want to hide but will warm up with time. We have a 2-year-old that he loves and lets hug, pet, and hang all over him. Unfortunately we are no longer able to care for him. His seizures during sleeping are causing more issues, as we have to constantly wash and clean up after him and replace covers for couches. We want nothing more than for him to go to a loving home.

Story
Born: 7/15/24 Spot comes from a litter of 7 and is by far the most cuddly of his siblings. His mother was a stray that came to me two weeks before he was born and he has been in my care since. He's very well behaved and loves to be held/sit in laps, to the point where he could almost be called a ragdoll cat. He is very close to his brother Tux and it is preferable that they go together, but he should get along with other cats easily. Spot has had his first shots. Vaccine paperwork and any additional info are available upon request. He is completely free to a good home.
