Story
Oh, let me tell you about me, Fuzzy. I'm a long-haired beauty with that classic tuxedo pattern, just like a little lady dressed for a grand ball daily. Although I'm shy around new faces, I am the sweetest soul you'll ever meet. It takes me a moment to come out of my shell, but once I do, my affection is as warm and comforting as a sunbeam on a chilly morning. My sister Frankie and I are two peas in a pod, inseparable through thick and thin. We share a bond that's truly heartwarming to witness. I look up to Frankie, and together, we make a delightful pair, bringing joy and a touch of mischief wherever we go.I'm 10 years old, with a gentle spirit that's only grown more tender. In my golden years, I seek nothing more than a loving lap to curl up in, a quiet spot by the window to watch the world go by, and, of course, the companionship of my dear brother. We've been through so much together, and it's my deepest wish to find a home where we can continue our journey side by side. With my elegant coat and gracious manners, I might take a bit to warm up to new surroundings, but give me a little time, and I'll show you the depth of my affection. I'm a testament to the beauty and resilience of the feline spirit, and whoever has the privilege of welcoming Frankie and me into their home will indeed have their lives enriched by our presence.***Adoptions are by appointment only. Story
Meet Frankie, a majestic 10-year-old long-haired grey and white female kitty with a gentle and somewhat shy soul. Frankie shares an inseparable bond with her sister, Fuzzy, another senior lady of the feline world. Together, they form a duo full of love, wisdom, tranquility, and a hint of shyness. While Frankie, with her elegant long fur, enjoys the quiet moments in life, often found lounging in a sunbeam or quietly observing the world from her favorite window perch, her shyness becomes apparent in new situations or around unfamiliar faces. However, this trait only adds to her charm, as she warms up with time, revealing her affectionate and playful side, especially when she's with Fuzzy.Despite her age and initial reservation, Frankie's playful spirit shines through when she feels safe and comfortable, showing that true companionship knows no age or bounds of shyness. Their bond is a testament to the deep connections animals can form with one another, making them an inseparable pair that brings double the love and joy to any home, once given the chance to adjust and feel secure.Frankie, with her serene presence, graceful demeanor, and shy nature, is looking for a forever home where she can continue to share life's adventures with her beloved sister, Fuzzy. A patient, understanding, and loving environment will allow them to come out of their shells at their own pace, promising to fill their new home with warmth, affection, and the unique charm that only a pair of wise, loving, and initially shy senior cats can offer.***Adoptions are by appointment only. Please complete an application online on our website, and someone will contact you for an appointment.*** **All cats/kittens adopted from the Boone Area Humane Society must be indoor-only animals and can not be declawed** ***All cats are spayed/neutered, Feluk tested, and microchipped. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
This cat has shown signs of overstimulation while in the shelter. Lots of handling, playing with hands, and excessive petting can cause them to overstimulate, which can result in scratching and/or biting. This cat is looking for experienced cat owners who will watch this cat's body language while interacting to note signs of overstimulation (tail waving, fur rippling, dilated pupils, ears turned back and quick body movements) and be willing to respect their boundaries. This cat will also benefit from interactive toys such as wands and ball spinners while playing. We are happy to speak with you more when you visit and can provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat mental stimulation, patience and space when they need it, please consider adopting! They would love to be your sidekick and buddy for life! All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age) Primary Color: Orange Weight: 8.2 Age: 2yrs 3mths 1wks

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
- Has lived with other catsThis cat can be fearful and may need extra time to adjust to a new home. We've seen good progress here at the ARL, but don't be surprised if it takes several weeks for this cat to become comfortable in a new place. This cat may hide and just observe at first - maybe for quite a while - and that is perfectly normal. Young children are too much for this cat right now, so we are highly recommending a quiet, mature home. We are happy to provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat extra time, patience and TLC, please consider adopting! It will be so rewarding to watch them gain confidence and start enjoying all the good things in life! All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age) Primary Color: Tabby Weight: 2.52 Age: 0yrs 0mths 11wks
