Story
Please do not send inquiries. These cats can be visited at PetSmart in Carmel/Westfield (14720 US 31N) during store business hours. Applications are available at the store. Rosetta and Clark have a long history with me. I originally got them as kittens from different feral colonies. We put them together when they were about 4-5 months old and they bonded from that point. They spent years with me and were finally adopted by an older couple with an empty house. Unfortunately, the couple divorced, the wife left, the husband lost his job and had to sell the house. Per our contract, the cats came back to us at the husband's request. Clark and Rosetta are now 11+ year old seniors. They could probably use a teeth cleaning sooner rather than later. Rosetta came from a colony in Speedway. Her mother and a brother stayed at the colony (feral), two siblings were adopted. She does love human attention once she trusts you, but will always hiss at you. She just never learned that hissing is only a warning; she thinks it's just a common way to say hi. Clark came from a colony in Indianapolis. His mother was a Siamese, but he is a beautiful black male. He also had a Siamese brother. His brother and mother were adopted to their own forever homes, but Clark is black and shy and was constantly overlooked. We paired him with Rosetta and they became the best of friends. Bonded pairs are even more difficult to adopt. WE WILL ONLY ADOPT THEM AS A BONDED PAIR. We recommend no dogs and no small children. They would do best in a very calm forever home where they never have to move ever again. They do not adjust well to change. Rosetta & Clark are approximately 11+ years old, spayed/neutered, updated vaccines, microchipped and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Adoption fee = $80 total for the pair

Story
Please do not send inquiries. These cats can be visited at PetSmart in Carmel/Westfield (14720 US 31N) during store business hours. Applications are available at the store. Pawtrick & Purrcy are from a feral colony in Clermont that grew up with us in a big mob of 6 kittens. The homeowner had taken care of the colony, then people kept dumping intact cats and the neighbor didn't fix his, so the colony expanded. The homeowner had the adults scheduled to be fixed, and we took the kittens, which she had socialized from birth. These boys spent a month with an adopter, but did not like her at all. They will need time and lots of patience to bond with an adopter. WE WILL ONLY ADOPT THEM AS A BONDED PAIR. Purrcy is the fluffiest boy who sheds like crazy. He is an attention hog. If I am petting his brother, he demands I pet him. He loves to adventure (and can jump!) and be in your business. He is an awesome bug catcher. Pawtrick (short-haired classic tabby) is a shy boy who is insecure. A cat tree with a window view is a must for him. He likes to sit in the tree and look out the window as I give him lots of attention. He has started to ask for attention when his brother is getting attention. These cats have not been around dogs or small children. We insist on a cat-only household with children over 12. They do great with other cats. Pawtrick & Purrcy are neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV and are microchipped. Approximate date of birth is March 28, 2023. Adoption fee = $75 per feline ($150 total)

Story
Meet Onix! Onix originally came to us last year after she was TNR but was taken in once we discovered a tumor growing rapidly on her muzzle lip's upper right side. After months of vet visits awe, we're referred to a specialist. VCA recommended it be removed asap. So we did. Now she's an indoor kitty. Her personality shined and showed us how much she loves humans. She is a talker and will follow you while holding a deep conversation, mostly about her LOVE for wet food! Nonetheless, she's amazing, sweet, loving, and needs a home that will dedicate to her sassiness and give in to her request for fresh water, wet food, and treats! Onix is a cat, dog, and people, all brother friendly. She's independent and happy! Onix Candy is fully vetted spayed and up to date on all vaccines. Updated: 2/1/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.

Story
Meet Stanlee! Sweet ham has been with us 4 years almost. As an older kitten, he followed the kids home from walking the corn field. He refused to be left behind. In the 4 years with us by age 2 he was diagnosed with stomatitis and since has had 3 dental's but as of next week or so he will have a full mouth abstract. Stomatitis NO MORE! Stanlee has been with us this long and it is time he gets his happiness forever. Stanley is a hulk of a ham cat. Even with stomatitis, he exceeds 10 pounds. He loves to eat and enjoys his dry and wet food as well as his requested daily treats. He is a talker but not obnoxiously, loves all dogs, amazing with every cat and critter he meets and his signature love move is head buds and full body rubs against everyone. You will love him! Absolutely amazing with kids too. Loves all dogs too! Stan is fully vetted spayed and up to date on all vaccines. Story
CharlotteI`m almost embarrassed to admit I`m back at the HSHC because my latest owner was moving. I was one of the lucky kitties who lived at the Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe (SKCC) for a while and was adopted there. But I only got to live with her for 71 days. I don`t know why I couldn`t go with her, but that`s how it is. I am a curious, outgoing gal with a lovely fluffy orange and white coat. I came from a crowded shelter and was happy to be in this beautiful place. When I was at SKCC, I was the first to greet the interviewer lady (IL), and I rubbed against her leg and encouraged her to pet me all over. As soon as she sat down, I hopped onto the couch for more quality attention. Today, when the IL came to see me, I was busy bathing, but I let her pet me and scratch my ears. She said I looked a little scruffier than I did a few months ago. I don`t think my owner liked brushing my long hair. I am 5 years and 4 months old, litterbox-educated, and already spayed. My favorite things include falling asleep in your arms, playing with toys that make noise, and having lots of your attention. My big turn-off is having my stomach touched! Although I have lived with other cats, I sometimes tolerate them; other times, I get a bee in my bonnet and chase them to tell them to get out of my face. My fantasy is to be a spoiled, only cat. I long for a loving home where I can be the center of attention. I have all my paws crossed to find my forever owner, who will never move without taking me along. 10-8-24

If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Adoption Application.   ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis.  We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.  Janey Lane is in my ears and in my eyes...   You won't be able to stop singing when you meet Janey Lane with her big owl eyes! Janey is looking for the purrfect lap to snuggle up in. She'll make her biscuits and then settle in for as long as you let her. Janey loves playing fetch and with her turbo scratcher. This sweet girl would do best in a quiet home with low stress. She has been around other cats & likes some but not others. She has not been around dogs or young children, other than briefly at adoption events. Do you have a warm lap & love getting kitty snuggles? Janey Lane might just be the purrfect kitty for you!   DOB 5/1/21  If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please complete the online Adoption Application.  If you would like to donate to this pet's care, please click here.
