Story
Macadamia went on one of our transport up north to a shelter and found a home as an only cat. She was so happy that she ate herself into a fat young lady. This made it difficult for her to clean herself properly, which is very important for a cat, especially a long haired cat. She returned the cat to the rescue who took her and she hated being in a kennel and ended up being returned to us.Macadamia was so unhappy when she came back, or so it seemed. Within a day she was interacting with volunteers and loving pets. She still prefers not to be around the other cats, but she is and she tolerates it without incident. Every once in awhile someone will pet her just a little to long and she will still give a swat, but not with claws. She is not going to be able to go to one of our stores to be adopted, so we hope someone reading about this girl will come and meet her and decide if she would be a fabulous addition to your home. Macadamia and her 6 little nuts were found by a lady under the house she was renting. Poor Macadamia didn't have a stable home and she was either put out to fend on her own when she became pregnant or she was just a stray. She was not feral at all, so she had some type of human interaction before she had to struggle for herself and the kittens she birthed. The renter was unable to keep them because of rental regulations, but she did her best to care for them under the radar until she realized she had to reach out for help. We agreed to take in the family and care for them. They were all beautiful and we will get them fully vetted and healthy and continue their socialization in order to find them a caring home where they will not be in the predicament they found themselves in during the heat of summer.

Story
Zen was adopted and has recently returned to our shelter. She wasn't real happy about being back with us and having to go in a kennel, but she has begun to tolerate the situation. She is still a sweet girl and loves attention. We truly hope that she doesn't have to be with us very long. If you'd like to meet adult Zen, please let us know.PAWS County had 2 sickly Moms and 4 babies all turned in together. No one was sure who was the actual mom of they were a combination of two families, we had no information to go off of except there were 6 sickly kittens who needed help and needed to leave the shelter. So we took in the entire crew in order to get them healthy, socialized and fully vetted until they get their permanent, indoor living home.Zen, like the other "Z" babies from this litter have just been let out from their kennel and are running around in our adoption room. They are getting adjusted to being with other cats besides their litter as well as people wanting to pick them up. Because they were born outside of a home, they tend to run from us. They couldn't do this while in a kennel, so they are used to being petted and loved. With more space, they make a game of it. Once they are caught or if they are picked up while sitting still, they are just fine. They don't mind being held or loved. When they go to their home this will be something that should be known that they will need to be acclimated to not only the home, but people wanting to play with them. Of course, we will continue to interact with them and this is going to improve each day. When a person isn't trying to get their picture or pick them up, they are running, playing and living the energetic kitten life. Zen, unlike her siblings gets a little upset when other kittens get in her space. She growls, but doesn't bite. She doesn't like to rough house as much of her siblings or the others in the room. Though she does love to play. Want to get some steps in while giving a kitten a new home? Come and meet
