Story
Smokestack is a super sweet, mild-mannered, and chatty cat who loves to be around you. She enjoys playing with a chaser toy for short bursts—about 10 minutes, then she's all set. She prefers a calm, quiet space but doesn’t mind if you turn up the volume on music, movies, or TV. Although she's not the cuddliest cat and isn’t a fan of being held, she loves being pet and staying close by, especially when she’s hovering over your shoulder on the couch or curled up next to your head at night. If you adopt her, she’ll come with everything she needs: dry and wet food, some toys, two litter boxes, a scratching post, and her cat tree. She’s very low-maintenance, and while it might take her a little time to get comfortable, she’ll settle in and feel right at home.

Story
So many stories in the rescue world about cats and they all seem to have the same start all too often and too sad.  This stunning grey tabby and white boy is called Chester, he is just barely one year of age and born to a stray momma cat.  Living outdoors all his life, his momma brought him and his littermates to a family house where she hoped to be fed and to care for her litter born outside a home.  Somehow her 4 kittens survived and here is Chester to prove that miracles can happen for these lost and forgotten mommas and their babies.  Chester is now a very handsome 13 pound boy that has been invited inside a foster home and is being given the wide berth to relax and make himself at home as a pampered and well fed adult cat.  He’s still super shy and will hide a lot under the bed, but he is starting to come out for some play time and chin scratches.  In just 4 days he has made such strides and advancements to allow toys to entice him to come out several times without fear and allow his new foster mom Joyce to pet him and given him chin rubs.  He is learning to be petted and to trust this new foster mom.  He and his littermates are all grown up but very young and they are getting better with the litterbox training and are eating with a hearty appetite.  We feel that time and patience will see Chester and his siblings stay out from under a bed or in hiding more and more as they learn they are safe and have a promise of food and love every day for the rest of their life.  If you are interested in helping Chester learn daily how to receive love and be happy with being touched, then please email us and ask to foster him or adopt him.   Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com we are anxious to find a capable home to love him all the way. Our vetting is extensive: Spay, rabies, FIV vaccine, FIV tested and negative, fecal and dewormings and a Drontal  and microchipped. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.  November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Sometimes when people say that a pair of pets need to go together to a new home, we laugh and roll our eyes.   Not this time.  This time we have Tim and Rush that need a home that will allow them the lifelong freedom to hang out, curl up together, just coexist together in a home where they can bring love and joy to their owners.   These boys are buds and Tim is 10 years and Rush is 4 years.  They are both loving and cuddly with their human owners.  They are experienced and fine with dogs and would make the best pair of cats that entertain each other and also will entertain YOU!  Rush will talk to you and tell you all about how his day has been if you learn for even the least amount of time.  He will tell you about his day and in turn listen to how yours has been.   Tim on the other hand is a clown and will carry a sock in his mouth around the house like a pacifier.  If you have ever thought of adopting a pair of cats, then look NO FURTHER.... these two handsome boys are ready to make your wish come true!!!  A pair of Prince Charmings!!!   Please is you are looking for a pair of Ginger colored cats then email:  ccrnewengland@gmail.com Our vetting is extensive: Spay, rabies, FIV vaccine, FIV tested and negative, fecal and dewormings and a Drontal  and microchipped. Story
Meet Bigsby, also known as Ms. Bigg, a pretty grey and cream tabby who is about eight or nine years old.    Bigsby is a dog in a cat's body, according to her foster's friends. She earned this reputation by coming out of the woodwork and demanding attention from them whenever they visit. Without fail, as soon as a visitor sits in her favorite chair, she assumes this is an invitation to get attention and sprawls on their chest and shoulder and purrs. When her foster worked from home, she was the Official Office Cat and was often the unintentional star of a few Zoom/Teams meetings; her foster has since RTO'd, which makes Bigsby sad. She is very affectionate and wants to be with her people.   Currently, she's living in a house with a few other cats and a couple of big dogs (coonhounds); she doesn't create issues with any of them, though she's not exactly snuggly with them, either. She would likely do just fine as a solo cat or in a household with other pets. Beyond human attention and the standard food, water and a clean litter box, she needs just one thing every day: allergy medication. She's not exactly 'special needs' or high maintenance; her allergy meds keep her healthy and happy.  She is missing most of her teeth, but that doesn't hold her back in any way; the only concession being made for that is wet pate food once a day with dry kibble available on a free-feed basis.    Bigsby is a fantastic, engaging older cat who deserves her own human to love her.  She is totally vetted and ready for her forever home.  If you think  will be the purrfect addition to your family please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Bigsby is in Tennessee and can be transported to the northeast upon adoption.)  November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Meet Buddy! She's a friendly indoor/outdoor cat looking for her end game. She embodies cat qualities: loyal, affectionate, loving, slow blinks and chasing toys. She is looking to be your only cat. She's a domestic medium hair tabby with a soft, shiny coat, big green eyes and a fluffy tail. Her shots and health care is up to date, records provided. She's approx 9 yrs old and weighs 10 pounds. She has lived outside where dogs chase her and there are cars close by. Rescuing her would take her out of danger. She has an eartip because she was spayed, microchipped and vaccinated initially as an outdoor community cat. What's she's looking for in an adopter: treats! Playtime with toys, having a catio / safe access to the outside, affection, brushing her, a warm home and your patience. To be considered as a potential adopter, complete an adoption application. Completing the application does not guarantee it will be approved. We are an all volunteer group and unfortunately are unable to answer every phone call, adoption inquiry, or application. Story
Oz is a dapper little man with his draping smoky black coat, tufty ears, and a signature “one-arm hang-over” pose. Rescued with his siblings, Glinda and Elphaba, from a challenging outdoor situation, Oz quickly settled into his foster home, radiating calm confidence and affection. Full of kitten charm, Oz is just as happy romping around with his siblings as he is curling up for a cozy nap. A chorus of purrs fills the air as he and his siblings launch surprise attacks, fly across the house, cuddle, nap, and give each other baths. From boxes to bottle tops, they creatively play the day away. Oz is endlessly curious about his foster dog brother, watching his every move and always hoping he can cuddle up. This lovable boy adores being held like a baby, gives “licky” kisses, and even holds the record for the longest meow in a single breath when meal prep begins. Oz is a wonderful family kitten, full of love and ready to bring endless joy and affection to his forever home. --- As with all of our young kittens, it is required that they be adopted as a pair, with another kitten, or to a home with another cat(s). Submit an Adoption Application to be considered: https://www.tailshigh.org/home/adoption-application/ Completing the application does not guarantee it will be approved. Story
Meet Alfie, the sweetest one-year-old boy who doesn’t have a mean bone in his body! This loveable fluff adores everyone he meets, warmed up quickly to our resident cat, and charms everyone with his gorgeous orange coat and gentle personality. Alfie is a big fan of belly rubs and loves being held like a baby when it’s Churu time. Unfortunately, Alfie’s litter box issues began after we moved into a home where a previous cat had marked its territory. Despite multiple deep cleans, what seemed to start as Alfie picking up on residual odors has now become a consistent habit, despite trying different litters, boxes, pee pads, etc. Our vet has confirmed he’s healthy, and we’re exploring anxiety treatments, but so far, nothing has fully resolved the issue. In our previous apartment, he used his litter box without a hitch, so we believe this habit is due to territorial instincts that have become hard for him to break. If you’re willing to give this sweet boy a chance, please reach out.

Story
Mac is shy to start out, but once settled into his space he'll come out of his shell. Mac likes the company of his human. You're working? He'll join you by the office table. You're watching a movie? He will sit near you on the couch. You're doing the dishes? He'll be by your side purring so you know he is there for you. Don't be fooled though, Mac likes his own space. Mac and Cheese are brothers and a bonded pair, which means they will need to be adopted together. The two of them like to zoom around the house playing and chasing, but they also enjoy cuddling up next to one another for naps. They are both very sweet cats, and get along well with others, humans and cats alike. To learn more about how to adopt Mac, please fill out an adoption application (https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LDAC/Cat) or email questions to cat.adoptions@lostdogrescue.org.
