Story
We found Salt and Pepper at around 2 weeks old under a ladder, and we bottle fed them. Now they are around 7 months old, they are strictly indoors, fixed, and they both have flea collars. Salt is female, she is a very loving cat, vocal, and she’s the one that starts the mischief most of the time, but she loves to lay down and cuddle. Pepper is male, he’s more shy at first, but he also loves to get attention and he’s very food motivated. Rehoming fee is $100 to ensure a good home. We love them, but we don’t have the time and we just wanna make sure they get the most perfect home.

Meet Merlin!-2 year old neutered male kitty-Very social, loves getting attention from people-Looking for a cat savvy adopter that understands overstimulation. Sometimes life is too exciting and Merlin has trouble regulating his zest-No history with other animals, but has made friends with some of our other resident cats while in our care-Indoor/outdoor home may be appropriate after a period of acclimation-An adopter that will provide above average mental and physical stimulation would be an ideal fitNow through December 23rd – the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is hosting “Home for the Holidays”. This adoption event reduces the adoption fee for all cats, rabbits and dogs to $50.Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

Story
Meet Molly!Molly is a snuggly kitten who is learning to be brave. She was part of a feral colony and is still working on her socialization and doing very well! She will need a cat savvy, paitent adopter who is willing to continue her socialization while also keeping her safe indoors. Molly has found that she enjoys the company of other cats, especially similar aged kittens! She has not been around dogs and will need a slow introduction to them. She is wary of fast movement and new sounds and may not do well with small children. Molly loves to be petted, but will need some time to warm up and right now is not a lap cat. But we are sure with time and dedication, she will bloom into the perfect companion! Now through December 23rd – the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is hosting “Home for the Holidays”.
