Story
*** Hamster, Kimmy & Howie are in a foster home. ***Hamster: black & white bicolor, med. hair, spayed female, born approx. 1/31/24, #18980Kimmy: brown tabby & white, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 1/31/24, #18981 Howie: black & white bicolor, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 1/31/24, #18983Cats: need a sibling or new kitty friendDogs: unknown Children: love gentle kids When a Good Samaritan was helping with a hoarding situation, she took in a heavily pregnant cat who soon gave birth to five adorable kittens. Their benefactor reached out to The Rescue House and the family moved into foster care. Now they are ready to find loving homes! They like to frolic and romp and tussle with each other and you seldom see one kitten scamper by without another in hot pursuit! They are very social and comfortable with people of all ages.---Hamster likes to walk around showing off her luxurious coat and that oh-so-fluffy tail… she’s beautiful and she knows it! This curious love bug will quickly win your heart with her soft purr and desire to cuddle right up to her people for some pets and scritches and quite possibly a nap. Her slightly more dignified nickname is “Beauty”… for she is, inside and out.---Kimmy is a great reading and snuggling partner who loves when you dote on her. This lovely lass enjoys any kind of frisky fun, especially when she can showcase her superb climbing skills! (Her nose blaze is divided half brown and half white.)---Howie is the big guy and he’s outgoing, confident, and a spirited sweetheart. His curiosity leads him into plenty of inquisitive adventures, so you’ll find him almost anywhere if he’s not lounging in his fleece hammock. Howie will go after any toy (wand, laser, sibling) with unadulterated glee! They each must have a sibling (ideal!) or another welcoming kitty playmate in their new home. They are great with respectful children. They haven’t met any dogs, but if introduced carefully we think they have the potential to do well with a cat-friendly canine.Which of these cuties will win your heart? It’s going to be hard to choose!

Story
*** Dotty is at The Cat Cafe in downtown San Diego. ***Black & white tuxedo, medium hair, spayed female, born approx. 4/15/23, #18829Cats: enjoys Dogs: ignores Children: calm quiet older kids Dotty and her siblings were living in the yard of a woman in Holtville who threatened to shoot and kill them; she did shoot another cat that was there. A local rescuer was able to get the family out to safety and they later came to The Rescue House. Dotty is a busy young lady! She gets very focused on her daily activities: playing hallway soccer, tossing toy mice, chasing rogue bugs that sneak in, scaling cat trees, keeping an eye on what you’re doing on the other side of that door… she’s happy and bouncy and agile and curious, darting around with quick purposeful movements. She’ll pause to lounge on the top perch of a cat tree where she can observe her surroundings, but it isn’t until evening when Dotty will really settle. The work day is done and it’s time for more leisurely pursuits like getting pets and rubs through her soft pretty fur while you watch TV together. Dotty also loves to lie down in bed and sleep next to you. She can give you gentle love-nibbles from time to time when you’re petting her to show that she’s happy. Dotty does best with people she specifically knows, appreciating an introductory period, and the more time you spend with her the closer you will become.Dotty enjoys the company of other cats and will head-bump them and then rub against their bodies. She’d best like to have a feline friend and has never been alone, though would likely be okay as a solo cat so long as she gets plenty of enrichment with wand toys. She ignores her foster’s dogs. Dotty can startle with fast movements and loud noises, so we recommend an overall calmer home with adults or with cat-savvy older children.Dotty is a darling! Will she be your beloved companion?

*** Daisy and Coco are in our PetSmart Aero adoption center ***Daisy: orange/white/black calico, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 6/1/24, #19337Coco: brown/black tabby, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 6/1/24, #19339***BONDED PAIR*** Cats: enjoy others Dogs: get along Children: get alongBACKGROUND: These darlings and their mom were rescued from an attic in LA County. No longer scared or malnourished, these healthy, happy kitties are ready to be spoiled in their forever home!PERSONALITY: A bit on the reserved side due to their difficult beginning, these balls of fluff are lots of fun! --- Daisy is famous for her sweet personality! This curious girl is always ready to explore. Purring her favorite tunes, she’ll cheerfully approach you, especially during mealtimes. After waking up from a cat nap, she’ll allow gentle snuggles. Then she’s off to bat around some pom poms!--- Coco is our demure princess! Her beloved mushroom-shaped scratching post doubles as a throne. Still learning to trust gentle humans, Coco is a tad bashful and likes to take things slow. We are so proud of all the progress she’s made— from initially hiding in a closet to zooming all over the place as she plays. She’d appreciate a patient family who will help her blossom into a confident queen!***Daisy and Coco are a package deal and MUST be adopted together. COMPATIBILITY: Our duo has spent several months in a household with other felines, a dog and young children without issue. They can mingle with them all!Warning: Cuteness-overload! How can you resist these kitties? You don’t— Apply now!

Story
*** Maude is in a foster home ***Grey tabby, medium hair, spayed female, born approx. 6/1/23, #19257Cats: enjoys a cat willing to playDogs: not recommendedChildren: older, gentle BACKGROUND: An animal-lover spotted a very thin Maude hanging around her neighborhood and started to feed her. Maude wanted to join the household permanently, but the resident dog wasn’t friendly to cats and it wasn’t a safe environment for her. Her rescuer reached out to The Rescue House and Maude was able to move into foster care instead so she can find a loving forever home that is just perfect for her!PERSONALITY: Maude is an elegant, mellow sweetheart with a sprinkle of diva to keep things interesting! Hankering for relaxing head and chin scratches, she’ll curl up next to you or on your lap. Not only is she an excellent lap cat, but she also has ridiculously soft fur! Just be mindful not to get too close to her lower back, hindlegs or tail- she is sensitive about those places. Tail swishes are her way of saying, “No more, please.” If you don’t get the message, you might get a warning nip to say, “Excuse you!” Playful and fun-loving, she quite fancies a game of chase with a kitty wand. Maude is happiest when she gets a lot of playtime. She will entertain herself with her toy collection and play with another willing cat, but an all-around exercise routine that also involves you is ideal and she is clearly cheerful when she gets that time. While being carried is not her favorite thing, she’ll tolerate it for you. Enjoying your company, she’ll follow you on a trip to the kitchen, chatting away as you two take a stroll. With this curious gal around, you’ll want to be extra aware. Silly Maude has a tendency to get underfoot or climb into the fridge if she spots something alluring inside. She also has a peculiar relationship with feet. Initially, she can be very scared of them, especially if she feels cornered by your feet or worried that you might nudge her with a foot. Sensing danger, she might grab your ankle, yowl, or bite if she feels attacked. On the other hand, she likes to greet you by lying down and rolling next to your feet. Thankfully, Maude is an avid communicator and will let you know how she feels through typical cat body language. Since she is generally easy to please, all you have to do is pay attention and listen and play! Any miscommunication will be quickly forgotten and you two will be back to blissful

*** Nellie & Puff are in a foster home. ***Nellie: black & white tuxedo, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 6/1/23, #19282Puff: black & white tuxedo, med-long hair, spayed female, born 6/17/24, #19285Cats: *BONDED PAIR*, no others Dogs: maybe gentle quiet oneChildren: calm older kids BACKGROUND: This gorgeous young mama wandered into a yard in the Coachella Valley and promptly gave birth. Nellie had perfect instincts, because the homeowners kept her fed and safe for several weeks while they reached out to rescues. (Their pre-teen daughter named her Nellie!) The family moved into foster care where Nellie was a dedicated and devoted mother.PERSONALITY: This mother-daughter duo’s infectious energy will brighten your home. They love to chase each other and play laser!---Nellie is beyond lovable. She was barely a year old when she gave birth, and she is definitely still a kitten at heart: she’s playful and energetic! Nellie loves to play and pounce and is rarin’ to go whenever you bring out a wand toy. She is ferocious at hunting that red laser dot. When the wands and laser pointers are put away, Nellie will purr and nuzzle against you. She’s reserved with strangers and startles at loud noises, but is super sweet once she has a chance to get to know her people.---Puff is aptly named: look at her floof! And those extra-long whiskers! Even her feet are extra fuzzy. Puff likes ear rubs, cuddling, and toy mice… in any order. Puff knows when Nellie is feeling uncertain and will rush to her side (not that she’s usually far away) to be the best supportive daughter ever. ---Nellie did show favoritism among her five babies, and from the start it was Puff, who grew up attached at the hip to her mama. Nellie relies on Puff and Puff adores her mama. They MUST be adopted together.COMPATIBILITY: Nellie and Puff need to be the only cats in their home. While they are a tight-knit pair, they have not warmed up to the resident cats in their foster home. They can tolerate gentle patient dogs who don’t bark too much though haven’t become buddies. Older respectful children should be fine in an overall quieter home.Sweet Nellie and her Puffalicious daughter are beautiful inside and out. Will they bring their desert-origin warmth to your life with sunshine and smiles for years to come?

Story
*** Little Mama & Boots St. Clair are at Petsmart Encinitas. ***Little Mama: grey tabby, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 12/22/23, #19065Boots St. Clair: grey tabby w/white toes, short hair, spayed female, born 7/30/24, #19385Cats: must have cat palDogs: likely okayChildren: likely fineBACKGROUND: While feeding cats in Ramona, a Good Samaritan discovered a pregnant tabby and made a comfy space for the friendly kitty in her workshop. There, Little Mama delivered her SEVEN babies in safety. Soon after, The Rescue House stepped in and welcomed the fluffy party of eight into foster care. PERSONALITY: These sweethearts are full of love and laughs!---Little Mama is extremely sweet and social! This lovely lady adores human company. An active youngster, she enjoys recess with her kittens! However, she’s old enough to appreciate settling down for quality cozy time. If you’re searching for a lap cat, Little Mama is the one for you! Her silky silver stripes and her striking gold eyes might captivate you. However, you’ll fall hopelessly in love with Little Mama’s big heart! --- Boots St. Clair is full of play! She’ll chase after wand toys and scale up the kitty tree. There’s no shortage of energy with this fuzz ball around. Once she starts yawning, she’ll seek a sleepy cuddle from a friend or her mama. Having been raised around people since day one, Boots is extra affectionate! However, if you are expecting lap snuggles, you need to seek out Little Mama. Boots is still a bit bouncy to sit still for too long, though we suspect as she gets older she will grow into a lap cat. COMPATIBILITY: They get along with other cats. They each must have a playful feline companion - whether that is being adopted with each other or joining a family with an active resident kitty. They have not interacted with dogs or children, but we believe they’d likely adjust fine after proper introductions. Our sterling sweethearts are ready to set their paws into their forever homes! Will you be the one to welcome them?
