Story
Chickie has been receptive to affection in the past with people she knows, but with new people and new places, she needs lots of patience. She's greatly food motivated which helps to get her to come out of her shell little by little. Chickie will need a very cat-savvy person to scoop her up and give her lots of time to grow confident with them by respecting her space and allowing her to set the pace. If you're the right person for the job, come visit Chickie at the shelter or call (707)542-0882 to speak with an adoptions counselor for more information. Story
Rocky is sponsored by: Barbara McMahon SNAP Cats rescued Rocky from Fresno, CA. Due to his severe CH, Rocky is currently not walking. We are working with him to try to get him on his feet. That said, Rocky gets to where he’s going by crawling and flopping, and he does make it to the litter box most of the time, so that’s a plus!. The minus is that he makes a big mess of litter outside the box trying to cover his business. Rocky eats on his own, whether it’s kibble or wet food, and is a real love. We’re all hoping that Rocky will start walking soon. Hey, years ago we had a cat named Boxes (yes, that was his name) who flopped around for 4 years, then one day decided to stand up and walk. So there is hope! If you’re interested in Rocky please fill out an adoption application at https://www.snapcats.org/category/adoption/catsforadoption/. Thanks!October 15, 2024, 5:39 pm

Story
Whisper is sponsored by: Stephanie Li SNAP Cats rescued Whisper from Fresno, CA. Both Whisper and his brother, Rocky, are available. However, they are currently not walking due to their severe CH. We are working with them (physical therapy) to try to get them on their feet, so we're taking applications on them until we determine whether we think they'll walk or not. We'd like to see them adopted together, but they can go separately to the right homes. October 15, 2024, 5:39 pm

She is confident, outgoing, and social, but likes things on her terms. This big, beautiful cat loves to rub on your legs, get a few pets, and hang out nearby. She enjoys petting on her terms, absolutely loves playtime, and will chase the wand toy around the room and into the ripple rug before flopping over on her side. She may be a big girl, but she can really move and she loves to move!   Kirra previously lived with another cat and needs lots of active stimulation to keep her busy and prevent boredom. She may like some outdoor privileges as well. Kirra wants to run the show and is the queen of her own space. She needs a cat savvy guardian who can read her signals and respect her needs as her own feline. This beautiful, independent young cat can't wait for her new adventure to begin! Story
Flip Flop is a sweet, playful, determined kitty. She’s very smart and has found ways to adapt to her surroundings with her condition. Flip Flop has a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia, but it doesn`t slow her down any! She loves playing with toys and other kittens, climbing up cat trees to watch the birds, and snuggling all night in bed. She can also be very independent and will wander off to find a cubby or quiet spot to take a nap when she wants one. Kitties with cerebellar hypoplasia have issues with coordinated walking, so they often can appear shaky or jittery, but they are not in any pain and the condition is not contagious. She uses a rubber toddler bowl for food so she doesn’t hit her teeth when bobbing her head while eating. She is a messy eater but does try to clean up after herself. She uses a water fountain well as long as she has something to lean against. She is great at finding and using the litter box, although she needs a low entrance and high walls as she has to lay down to do her business. She’s very good at keeping herself clean most of the time but occasionally needs a little cleanup help. She does best on carpeted surfaces but can walk on wood floors. She loves having other playful kitties around and does not like being alone at all. She’s a great communicator and will let me know if she needs help getting up on the bed or getting to the litter box or food. When she first wakes up, she seems more severe, but usually corrects her path fairly quickly. We like to joke that she is 95% standard cat with 5% extra unpredictability in movement. Flip Flop would be a wonderful cat for someone who doesn`t mind a tippy kitty - she will fill your life and home with lots of love and laughter at her adorable and spirited antics!Flip Flop is in a foster home, so if you would like to meet her, please speak with our adoption staff so they can connect you with her foster parent. Thanks!
