Story
This handsome guys is Vedder. He came to us from a hoarding situation, along with his friend, Black Pearl, and they are really hoping to find a home together. These two are quite bonded and rely on each other for comfort. They are looking for a quiet home where they can stay together and where they might have some other cats to play with. Pearl is only about 8 months old and is more brave than Vedder is. She is always the first to explore new places and to open up to new people. Pearl is super chatty when she greats her people, demanding attention. She loves to sit in her foster mom's lap for cuddles, and she has a great purr. Vedder is 1 year old is a bit more reserved than Pearl is. He relies on Pearl for confidence and her presence helps Vedder open up faster than when he's on his own. He sees her getting love and then he starts rubbing up against her, as well as his foster mom's legs. Vedder is very hand-shy, so does well with very slow movements. Since he's still learning to enjoy human affection, Vedder gets overstimulated easily. When he's getting pet, he starts to get a bit mouthy so we have to give him litter breaks in between the love. Due to this, these two will need to be in a cat-experienced home. Vedder really enjoys wand toys, so his foster mom is working on bonding with Vedder through play. Since they came from a high-density cat home, these two are very comfortable around other cats; they understand how to get along with different personality types. They both integrated well into their current foster home where there are several other kitties. There is a dog in their foster home, and they don't love him, but they don't hate him either. They would do OK in a home with a dog as long as it gives them space. They would likely do OK with an older, quiet dog that ignores them. These two are not comfortable with children, but would be fine with respectful teens. Pearl has short hair, but Vedder has medium-length hair, so he will need a home with someone who is willing to groom him as needed. Once he settles in a bit, grooming may be a good way to bond with him. Story
If you are looking for a wonderful pair of cats to join your family, Princess and Buttercup might be the perfect fit for you! These two are mother (Princess) & daughter (Buttercup) and they get along really well. They would love to find a home that will keep them together. These two were rescued from a hoarding situation and have been very thankful to their rescuers. They are sweet, loving, affectionate, and interactive. They both love to purr, to cuddle, and to give kisses. They will make really great friends for their new family members. Princess is estimated to be about 18 months old, and Buttercup is 6 months old. They've both been spayed and are in good health. Since they are from a hoarding situation, they get along well with other cats. However, the two of them would be happy to be the only cats in the home as well. They have lived around small dogs in the past and got along with them well. They aren't used to very young children, but they would likely do well with older, calm children. These two girls do really love to spend time getting fresh air, so they would love to find a home with an enclosed porch or patio. They enjoy chasing moths around and watching birds and other bugs. Story
If you are looking for a great little addition to your family, Zack might be a wonderful fit. He and his siblings were born to a stray cat who wandered into someone's home and gave birth in their kitchen! After a very short stay at animal control to ensure no one was missing their mom, they came to VPAS when they were just a few days old. They have been handled regularly since they were very young so they are social and enjoy human attention. They will all make wonderful companions. These guys all love to play and wrestle with each other. They are social and enjoy affection as well as play time. They play well with each other and also with toys. These guys are very slim and sleek so are quite athletic. Zack has very long legs! Although he's technically a black tabby, he looks like a tuxedo because he's so dark. Zack has fuzzy, medium length hair. Although the kittens have grown up in a foster home without other pets, they do really enjoy playing with each other. Therefore, they would love to go to homes where there are either existing cats, or they could be adopted along with a sibling. They haven't had any exposure to dogs but they may be OK with them if introduced properly because they are fairly confident kittens. None of the kittens have been around young children, but they do seem comfortable with pre-teen children that handle them appropriately. Story
Meet Zinnea, a beautiful brown tabby. She and her siblings were born to a stray cat who wandered into someone's home and gave birth in their kitchen! Zinnea is fairly easy going and likes to snuggle on her foster parents' laps. When she's not sleeping, she is usually off exploring or making a toy out of anything she can find around the house. These kittens are very slim and sleek so are quite athletic. They all have fuzzy, medium length hair and beautiful tabby swirls. Although the kittens have grown up in a foster home without other pets, they do really enjoy playing with each other. Therefore, they would love to go to homes where there are either existing cats, or they could be adopted along with a sibling (she gets along best with her brother Zack.) They haven't had any exposure to dogs but they may be OK with them if introduced properly because they are fairly confident kittens. None of the kittens have been around young children, but they do seem comfortable with pre-teen children that handle them appropriately. Story
Hi! We are siblings Nico (NM) and Nelly (SF). After a rough start in life, we were taken into rescue and for the first time in our short lives were warm, dry, fed, loved and safe. Nico here- I am definitely the more outgoing of we two. I am soft cuddly and LOVE to play! Sister Nelly is a wee bit shy yet but with a loving patient human she will be just fine! We would really love to be adopted together as we've never been apart. Allowing us to have a quiet, toy filled room to get used to you and all the new sounds and smells of our furrrrrever home will nurture our connection and help us to bond with you- our new family! We are both absolutely stunning kits approximately 18 months of age. Both domestic medium hair youngsters with me being a silky black and sister Nelly resembling main coon markings (tabby and striations). We are INDOOR ONLY kits but have had experience with a fab catio- and we highly recommend them lol. The home we seek is adult only. We have been in a foster home with a well-behaved dog and other foster kitties and get along with everyone. No chasing allowed-- thank you very much doggos!! Should you have a cat friendly dog I'm sure we'd get along just fine. We've both had our big ops and first set of shots. If you'd like to arrange to meet us, please review the practice and policies of adoption at cowichancatrescue.org then submit your application!! Hope to see you soon...~meow~ pls note adoption fee is per kitten. Thank you.
