Story
Hi! We are siblings Nico (NM) and Nelly (SF). After a rough start in life, we were taken into rescue and for the first time in our short lives were warm, dry, fed, loved and safe. Nico here- I am definitely the more outgoing of we two. I am soft cuddly and LOVE to play! Sister Nelly is a wee bit shy yet but with a loving patient human she will be just fine! We would really love to be adopted together as we've never been apart. Allowing us to have a quiet, toy filled room to get used to you and all the new sounds and smells of our furrrrrever home will nurture our connection and help us to bond with you- our new family! We are both absolutely stunning kits approximately 18 months of age. Both domestic medium hair youngsters with me being a silky black and sister Nelly resembling main coon markings (tabby and striations). We are INDOOR ONLY kits but have had experience with a fab catio- and we highly recommend them lol. The home we seek is adult only. We have been in a foster home with a well-behaved dog and other foster kitties and get along with everyone. No chasing allowed-- thank you very much doggos!! Should you have a cat friendly dog I'm sure we'd get along just fine. We've both had our big ops and first set of shots. If you'd like to arrange to meet us, please review the practice and policies of adoption at cowichancatrescue.org then submit your application!! Hope to see you soon...~meow~ pls note adoption fee is per kitten. Thank you.

Story
This handsome guys is Vedder. He came to us from a hoarding situation, along with his friend, Black Pearl, and they are really hoping to find a home together. These two are quite bonded and rely on each other for comfort. They are looking for a quiet home where they can stay together and where they might have some other cats to play with. Pearl is only about 8 months old and is more brave than Vedder is. She is always the first to explore new places and to open up to new people. Pearl is super chatty when she greats her people, demanding attention. She loves to sit in her foster mom's lap for cuddles, and she has a great purr. Vedder is 1 year old is a bit more reserved than Pearl is. He relies on Pearl for confidence and her presence helps Vedder open up faster than when he's on his own. He sees her getting love and then he starts rubbing up against her, as well as his foster mom's legs. Vedder is very hand-shy, so does well with very slow movements. Since he's still learning to enjoy human affection, Vedder gets overstimulated easily. When he's getting pet, he starts to get a bit mouthy so we have to give him litter breaks in between the love. Due to this, these two will need to be in a cat-experienced home. Vedder really enjoys wand toys, so his foster mom is working on bonding with Vedder through play. Since they came from a high-density cat home, these two are very comfortable around other cats; they understand how to get along with different personality types. They both integrated well into their current foster home where there are several other kitties. There is a dog in their foster home, and they don't love him, but they don't hate him either. They would do OK in a home with a dog as long as it gives them space. They would likely do OK with an older, quiet dog that ignores them. These two are not comfortable with children, but would be fine with respectful teens. Pearl has short hair, but Vedder has medium-length hair, so he will need a home with someone who is willing to groom him as needed. Once he settles in a bit, grooming may be a good way to bond with him. Story
If you are looking for a wonderful pair of cats to join your family, Princess and Buttercup might be the perfect fit for you! These two are mother (Princess) & daughter (Buttercup) and they get along really well. They would love to find a home that will keep them together. These two were rescued from a hoarding situation and have been very thankful to their rescuers. They are sweet, loving, affectionate, and interactive. They both love to purr, to cuddle, and to give kisses. They will make really great friends for their new family members. Princess is estimated to be about 18 months old, and Buttercup is 6 months old. They've both been spayed and are in good health. Since they are from a hoarding situation, they get along well with other cats. However, the two of them would be happy to be the only cats in the home as well. They have lived around small dogs in the past and got along with them well. They aren't used to very young children, but they would likely do well with older, calm children. These two girls do really love to spend time getting fresh air, so they would love to find a home with an enclosed porch or patio. They enjoy chasing moths around and watching birds and other bugs. If you're interested in learning more about this pair, please visit https://victoriapets.ca/adoption-process/ to find out about our adoption process, and for a copy of our online adoption application.

Story
If you are looking for a quiet, yet playful and interactive kitty to be your one and only, Zoe might be the perfect addition to your family. She is a gorgeous, sleek, exotic-looking, medium haired cat who is ready for her time to shine. Zoe came to us from another organization with her litter of newborn kittens. She was a wonderful mother and now that her kittens have been adopted and she's been spayed, it's time for Zoe to get the attention she deserves. She's estimated to be about 2 years old. Zoe is a quiet girl who is often in the background watching what's going on. However, she loves to be snuggled and to have conversations. She is playful and enjoys running around chasing toys. Zoe is friendly with everyone and greets new people at the door. She has been around older children & pre-teens, but we haven't yet had the opportunity to see her with young children. Due to her medium length hair, Zoe will need a home with someone who is willing to brush her regularly to prevent matting. She enjoys attention and pats so grooming her gently will be a good way to bond with Zoe. Although Zoe loves people, she has no tolerance for other animals. She is looking for a home where she'll be the only pet. She is used to being in a home with someone who is home for much of the day. If you work from home, are retired, or spend much of your day at home, Zoe would love to be your friend. If you think your home would be the perfect fit for Zoe, please visit https://victoriapets.ca/adoption-process/ to learn more about our adoption process and to find a copy of our online adoption application.

Story
Meet Oliver, the most handsome tuxedo kitty out there! Oliver came to the Cowichan SPCA after his owner for the last 9 years passed away. Despite this sudden change, Oliver has shown great resilience and is settling right into his new foster home. He's a super affectionate boy who loves to give his foster dad nose boops any chance he gets! He often shows his appreciation for being brushed and pet by purring up a storm!Catnip is also a favorite of his so make sure you have some around for a treat. Oliver is not shy to let you know what he wants and will meow, holler, or chirp depending on his mood. So if you like chatty kitties, Oliver is a great match for you! Oliver has lived with other cats in the past and seems to have shown some interest in meeting the foster's cats. This means he may do well with another kitty companion with a slow introduction. The perfect home for Oliver would be one that calm and quiet as he has a history of missing his litterbox when he's stressed. Since being in foster, this has not been an issue! One that can give him some much need attention and love is also a must for this boy! Oliver has shown interest in the outdoors while in foster, a home that could provide a catio space could benefit him greatly with the enrichment of the outdoors, in the safety of an enclosed space. Oliver is currently in foster and therefore unavailable for walk in meet and greets, to start the process of meeting and adopting him, follow the link belowTIP: Share a little about yourself in the application-it'll help us determine if you're Oliver's purrfect match!https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 5.73 Age: 9yrs 2mths 0wks

Story
Meet Stella!Stella is looking for a home to call her own that can aid her in being the healthiest she can be. She is quite overweight and will need portion control, and a weight loss diet in her new home until she gets to a manageable weight again, along with some exercise. She is an indoor only cat, and wants to stay that way so will need some enticement to get her activity levels up - a fun scratch post, food puzzles, etc. This big princess would love to be doted on in her retirement. She has previously lived in a home with children and other cats, and it just wasn't the life she wanted. Stella would very much like to be the one and only in her new home, and have all the attention on her.***Keep your new family member safe and consider investing in a catio or "cat-proofing" your balcony/deck. Leash-training, or letting your cat tag along in a pet backpack, are other safe options. Alternatively, you can bring the outside in with strategically placed bird-feeders and pollinator plants!***Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Stella's person? Apply today!TIP: We strongly suggest all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted. Leaving these questions empty inhibits our ability to make the best match possible, and drastically effects the likelihood of receiving a call back.https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting! Some animals may not be available for public viewing due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Kittens are not available for viewing as they are often in foster homes for health & safety reasons. Due to the high number of applications, we will ONLY be contacting select individuals to further review their interest. If you do not hear back within a week, it's likely the animal has already found a forever home. Phone inquires regarding the status of your application cannot always be prioritized.Animals cannot be held for potential adopters for more than 24 hours without a legitimate reason.
