Story
Meet Pekoe, the Purring Prince! Pekoe is a sweet, friendly lap cat with a heart as soft as his gorgeous medium-length fur. At just 2 1/2 years old, this confident and well-adjusted boy is ready to bring love and joy to his forever home. Whether it’s playtime with interactive toys or snuggling up on the couch, Pekoe thrives on love, attention, and companionship. Pekoe loves people and will happily follow you around, coming when called like the clever boy that he is. His purrs are endless, and he simply can’t get enough petting. He’s a mellow guy who will easily adjust to his new home. While he gets along wonderfully with other cats and enjoys playing with them, he’d also do just fine as the king of his castle. Pekoe does have FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but it’s not a big deal! With proper care, FIV-positive cats like Pekoe can live long, healthy, and happy lives. What you need to know about FIV: FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus: It’s a slow-acting virus that can weaken a cat’s immune system over time, making them more susceptible to infections. How it’s transmitted: FIV is spread through deep bite wounds between cats. Casual contact like grooming, sharing food bowls, or playing does not spread the virus so Pekoe can safely live with other friendly cats after proper introductions. FIV doesn’t spread to humans, dogs, or other non-feline pets. Lifespan: With regular vet care and a stable, indoor environment, FIV-positive cats like Pekoe can live as long as FIV-negative cats. Symptoms: Many FIV-positive cats show no symptoms for years. When properly cared for, they often live healthy, normal lives. Care requirements: Keep Pekoe indoors to reduce exposure to potential infections, feed him a high-quality diet, and schedule regular veterinary check-ups to monitor his health. Pekoe is ready to be your loyal companion and fill your life with purrs and love. Are you ready to give this extraordinary boy the forever home he deserves? Come meet Pekoe today—you’ll fall in love instantly! Approx. DOB: 3/10/22. https://youtu.be/pZjfa9KrLM4 If you would like to meet Pekoe, please go to https://hart-az.org/hart-cats and fill out an application. If approved, we will contact you to set up a time for a meet and greet.

Story
This is the sweetest cat youll ever meet! He is happy to accept pets from anyone, and immediately starts purring. He loves to play and would do well with a family with young kids, or with anyone looking for a sweet companion. He followed me home about a month ago, and I took him to the vet the next morning. He wasnt chipped and didnt seem to have a previous owner, but they said he was perfectly healthy. Shots/vaccines are up to date and I got hime neutered! I paid for all of his vet visits, so no adoption fee- I just want to find him a loving home. Id keep him, but my older female cat unfortunately cant adapt to a new cat in the house . My female cat is not a chill cat and doesnt like people except me, so its no surprise she isnt accepting of him, but he could do really well in a home with other cats/dogs who are accepting! No behavioral issues or quirks- he wants to be friends with my cat despite her ambivalence, and just likes to play and snuggle!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.PJ is a great young cat. He's very independent but loves attention. He may be a bit shy at first, but once he's comfortable with his surroundings, he will thrive. Very playful. PJ would love to be adopted with his sister Cali, but if that's not possible, he will need another cat friend in the home to bound with. He loves other cats and will not be adopted to a home without a pal. He's up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $100. Did you know??? Two kittens are better than one! It may come as a surprise to hear this, but two kittens are half the work of one! Giving me a buddy will improve our lives while making YOUR life easier. Adopting two kittens at the same time will ensure we kitties always have company-and a reliable source of entertainment. While you check off your to-do list, we will play, cuddle, and snooze the day away! My adoption fee is $175 and includes the following: -Spay/neuter surgery -All current vaccinations -Tested for FIV/FELV -Microchip -FREE wellness exam through VCA Animal Hospitals -$25 gift voucher from our friends at My Pet Market For more information about me or to schedule a meet and greet appointment, please complete an adoption questionnaire.

Story
You don't need to be a detective to deduce that I'm an adorable guy with lots of love to give! I'm Sherlock, an active and playful guy. Do you have an active household?! I am the kitten for you. Sometimes I can get a little too excited and my rougher side comes out to play so I need to be in home with no kids or other cats. I enjoy playing with laser light, firecracker and feather wands, and being picked up and held for a short time. To show my affection, I like give headbutts and purr. If you are looking for a young guy who will bring endless energy to your home, then it's no mystery - come visit me at the adoption center to see if our partnership is meant to be! No appointments are necessary and you can come see us anytime we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our cats to fill out a consultation form - this form helps us determine if the cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo without knowing the personality of the cat. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL cats are available to the first potential adopter who we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a - 2p, Wednesday 3p - 7p, Thursday 3p - 7p, Friday 10a - 2p, Saturday 10a - 4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Ellie came to Safe Haven for Animals as a scared, one-eyed momma cat to a litter of four kittens. Her kittens have all been adopted, and Ellie would be a wonderful forever pet in a quiet, calm household. Even though Ellie is very petite, she is extremely food motivated, probably due to having to survive as a young pregnant homeless cat. When it is feeding time, she is always waiting eagerly for her meal and likes to help our volunteers by cleaning up other cats leftovers. :-) She enjoys head pets, ear scratches and brushing of her soft, gorgeous coat. Her tail elevator works better than any other kitty in our shelter.

Story
Phoenix is a black tuxedo with a beautiful face, white feet and green eyes. One person suggested he looked like Charlie Chaplin with mustache and beard. He is just over 9 pounds, neutered and microchipped 9-22-23. Preston is being leash-trained and understands "leave it!" He is social and usually meets people well. He can be seen at My Pet Market Shea and Scottsdale Roads 2nd and 4th Sundays until adopted. He was rescued from Phoenix at about 3 weeks after mother disappeared and siblings were dying. He has had his kitten series of distemper vaccinations and is very active and healthy. Working on photos. Call Susanne 480-694-9998 for more information. Pictures coming.
