Story
Meet Pekoe, the Purring Prince! Pekoe is a sweet, friendly lap cat with a heart as soft as his gorgeous medium-length fur. At just 2 1/2 years old, this confident and well-adjusted boy is ready to bring love and joy to his forever home. Whether it’s playtime with interactive toys or snuggling up on the couch, Pekoe thrives on love, attention, and companionship. Pekoe loves people and will happily follow you around, coming when called like the clever boy that he is. His purrs are endless, and he simply can’t get enough petting. He’s a mellow guy who will easily adjust to his new home. While he gets along wonderfully with other cats and enjoys playing with them, he’d also do just fine as the king of his castle. Pekoe does have FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but it’s not a big deal! With proper care, FIV-positive cats like Pekoe can live long, healthy, and happy lives. What you need to know about FIV: FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus: It’s a slow-acting virus that can weaken a cat’s immune system over time, making them more susceptible to infections. How it’s transmitted: FIV is spread through deep bite wounds between cats. Casual contact like grooming, sharing food bowls, or playing does not spread the virus so Pekoe can safely live with other friendly cats after proper introductions. FIV doesn’t spread to humans, dogs, or other non-feline pets. Lifespan: With regular vet care and a stable, indoor environment, FIV-positive cats like Pekoe can live as long as FIV-negative cats. Symptoms: Many FIV-positive cats show no symptoms for years. When properly cared for, they often live healthy, normal lives. Care requirements: Keep Pekoe indoors to reduce exposure to potential infections, feed him a high-quality diet, and schedule regular veterinary check-ups to monitor his health. Pekoe is ready to be your loyal companion and fill your life with purrs and love. Are you ready to give this extraordinary boy the forever home he deserves? Come meet Pekoe today—you’ll fall in love instantly! Approx. DOB: 3/10/22. https://youtu.be/pZjfa9KrLM4 If you would like to meet Pekoe, please go to https://hart-az.org/hart-cats and fill out an application. If approved, we will contact you to set up a time for a meet and greet.

Story
Draco (black) and Rhino (orange) need to be adopted together!! They are the best of friends. Super sweet cats and Draco LOVES to cuddle. I have a dog in my home that he tolerates but prefers no dogs in home as he was attacked by one prior to me adopting him. He is a “high arousal cat” and gets scared easily. Rhino is polydactyl and has 6 toes on all 4 paws! I’m moving and cannot take them with me unfortunately :( and I’m hoping to find them a forever home so they can be together. They are both foodies and will beg for a piece of your food lol. they are also good with nail trims as long as they have a snack to keep them occupied. Draco’s hidden talent is learning how to open doors and Rhino is a go with the flow kinda cat. I feed them wet food as Rhino is prone to UTIs. They also keep each other entertained at night and get the zoomies. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. They are the best i could’ve asked for. I’m glad I got to know them and hoping someone else will love them too

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.PJ is a great young cat. He's very independent but loves attention. He may be a bit shy at first, but once he's comfortable with his surroundings, he will thrive. Very playful. PJ would love to be adopted with his sister Cali, but if that's not possible, he will need another cat friend in the home to bound with. He loves other cats and will not be adopted to a home without a pal. He's up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $100. Story
Ellie came to Safe Haven for Animals as a scared, one-eyed momma cat to a litter of four kittens. Her kittens have all been adopted, and Ellie would be a wonderful forever pet in a quiet, calm household. Even though Ellie is very petite, she is extremely food motivated, probably due to having to survive as a young pregnant homeless cat. When it is feeding time, she is always waiting eagerly for her meal and likes to help our volunteers by cleaning up other cats leftovers. :-) She enjoys head pets, ear scratches and brushing of her soft, gorgeous coat. Her tail elevator works better than any other kitty in our shelter.

Story
Butters got very lucky one fateful day in October 2024. His owner brought him into a vet clinic to be euthanized, even though he is a perfectly healthy, young and wonderful cat. Fortunately, our shelter director happened to be at that very clinic when this heartless scenario was going down. He has been living sequestered at our shelter ever since that day and is doing very well. Butters is FIV positive and, therefore, should be a solo cat in a household or live in a home with other FIV positive cats. Life will be most peaceful if he is the only king cat of a castle as he tends to be aggressive with other felines. Butters adores human attention and affection, has an extremely chill personality and loves to take naps on his back with his soft fluffy belly in the air. It is so cute! He is a bit on the overweight side and will need an owner who can help regulate his diet to get him back to ideal form. If you need a cuddly snuggle bug to cozy up with and watch movies, Butters is your guy! After all, isn't everything better with extra Butters?!?!
