Story
Checkers is a young kitty whose been steadily gaining confidence since he arrived with his brother. At first, Checkers wouldn’t let anyone near him without tensing up or running away. It’s taken a little over a month, but he’s finally showing signs of trust—letting us get closer to him, slow blinking at us, and being out in the open more. These small, meaningful steps reveal a gentle, loving personality that’s waiting to shine in a patient, forever home. Personality & Traits ~Energy Level: Low ~Great with: Cats; Calm, quiet environment ~Good to Know: Checkers is still learning to trust new friends, so it may take him longer than usual to get comfortable in his new home. Lots of patience and gentle approaches will go a long way! Best Home for Checkers Checkers would thrive in a quiet, calm home with lots of patience, no children or older children who can respect his boundaries, and possibly a feline friend to help him adjust. He would appreciate curling up in a cozy corner to nap, discovering new treats and toys, and spending precious moments with his people.

Story
Sylvester was very shy and terrified when first arriving to the shelter. It has taken some time but has warmed up to some staff members. He is still very skittish and easily startled but when he trusts his person he loves affection. He will roll on his side and make lots of biscuits and gently reach his paws out to you for more loves. Has lived with small dogs and done well, could also possibly do ok with a young non-threatening cat. Other cats have attacked him in previous home but he has done fine and seems to be curious with other cats at the shelter. We believe Sylvester needs a very quiet home with low stress. He will need a person who will give him the time and patience he needs to trust and feel comfortable in his home. He has so much potential and we hope someone will give him the chance he deserves to blossom into the sweet boy we see.
