Story
SHY CAT SPECIAL, now until 6/30/25: $20 adoption fee, plus a free wand toy and churu treat to help with acclimating them to their new homes! PLUS extended 90 day trial adoption period! Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Sassy and Swagger, fluffy grey tuxedo brothers born 3/27/24, arrived as part of a feral colony on which we were doing Trap-Neuter-Return. These two, rather than being the "angry wild animal" type of feral, clearly are just scared and shy, so our staff and volunteers decided to make them a rehabilitation project. They are coming along beautifully, and should make even faster progress in a loving home where they can experience living among the HOOMANS 24/7. Of the two, Sassy (untipped ear) is the least shy; he's still not super comfortable being petted, but will allow it. Swagger (tipped ear) hasn't quite grown brave enough for petting, but he is the more playful of the pair! Together, they make a great team, and both have a love for Churo treats, a handy tool when teaching them that people are great. Here is more information on adopting a shy cat: https://anticruelty.org/pet-library/adopting-shy-cat We'd love these brothers to head out to a patient, relaxing, spa-like home together; if you'd love to continue their rehabilitation and allow them to bond with you at their own pace, we'll be happy to place the pair for just a single adoption fee! (Sort of an "adopt one, get one free" deal, if you will). They are used to other cats, and would prefer not to share their home with dogs or loud humans of any age. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of SHY CAT SPECIAL - $20 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing Brownie This handsome fluffy boy, about 1 1/2 years old, is very sweet and cuddly. He has a playful nature, loves to follow visitors around the room, occasionally gives little "love nips" now and then to show how happy he is, and gets along well with the other cats in his Meow Manor room. He hasn't yet been tested with dogs, but we will be happy to do so if your cat-friendly doggo is hoping for a cat buddy. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Brownie is a suggested minimum of $40 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Jif and Skippy are brothers, born 4/16/24. Their gentle natures mecan they should become excellent family members once they have adapted to their new homes and families, but for now they are quite shy - Skippy a bit more so than Jif. Here is information about adopting a shy cat: https://anticruelty.org/pet-library/adopting-shy-cat These two are always near each other and would enjoy being adopted together, but this is not a requirement; either can be found to venture off if they find another bed that looks comfy. Both allow petting if you take your time (see videos), and are slowly improving through daily visits from different volunteer cat socializers. While these boys may never be "ambassador cats" who run to greet your visitors at the door, they will become grateful and devoted companions for the right people. There is nothing quite like the warm and fuzzy feeling the first time a shy cat jumps up onto your bed for snuggles! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of SHY CAT SPECIAL - $20 (more gratefully accepted).
