Story
Plumette (plume) is a very sweet and timid kitty. We adopted her 1.5 years ago and it took about 3 months for her to warm up to us to the point where she would come up and ask for pets and cuddles, but still did not like to be pet unless she requested it and would run away. We moved about a year ago, and then had a baby aboout 4 months ago and has not seemed very happy since those transitions. She has 2 other siblings, which she gets along with but never really cuddles or plays with them, she is very submissive so I believe she would do well in a household with other cats, but is not necessary as she usually plays by herself. I believe she would do well in a low energy, no kid household. She is a very sweet kitty and I would love to find a family that has time to grow a connection with her in a less stressful environment.

Story
Hello! My name is Kenshin. I am a ‘working cat’ which means that I may not be suited for the life of a house cat, but I would love to have a job in exchange for care, food, and shelter. Adoption fees are waived for working cats like me!Do you need help with rodent control at your house, barn, garden, warehouse, or garage? Working cats are dependable, effective, and utterly cute workers! Working cats can be an eco-friendly, humane alternative to pest management. Working cats are premier rodent managers! Although not suited for housecat life, if you keep a working cat happy and healthy, they may become more affectionate over time. These cats need food, water, protection from the elements, and long-term care. You can come by the shelter or email frontdesk@auburnvalleyhs.org for more information about adopting a working cat.

Story
Taimi is a sweet and loving girl, but she hates other animals to the point where she gets stressed out any time they get near her. She’s always been a quiet, reserved cat and has never quite fit in with our tribe, but we’ve recently been discussing rehoming her due to her anxiety. She absolutely needs a quiet home without other pets (at least not cats or dogs) and no kids. She’s very affectionate with her humans and will let you pet her all day long if you want. She’s somewhat playful, but not as much as other cats. If you want a quiet cuddle buddy, she’s your girl. It saddens us to rehome her, but we feel she’d be happier in a home without other pets. She’ll be shy at first, but once you gain her trust, you’ll have a loyal companion.

Story
Nakia is a very sweet cat when she gets to know you. She takes a while to get use to people but as soon as she is comfortable with you she will sit on you and near you. She will always great you with a meow and expects you to give her some scratches. However not on her belly. She hates that! She is a very active cat and will do her own thing. She loves toys and will play with you for a long time as long as you are up for it. She is also a calm cat that can be left alone to do her own thing.

Story
I have been at the shelter since Oct 27, 2024. My ideal relationship is a long-distance one. You may not see me all the time, but you are always on my mind! I enjoy keeping my own schedule, which involves monitoring what’s happening outside the window and napping in a sunny spot.
