Story
For The Cats' Sake BLONDIE is a beautiful kitty who came to us with her adorable kittens when we rescued them from outside an apartment building. She is the sweetest once she trusts someone, and is a tough girl who deserves all the love and security she can get. BLONDIE was an excellent mama cat who took such great care of her babies. We can now stroke her and even pick her up, which is a long way from the semi-feral momma cat she was when we took her in. BLONDIE would make a wonderful pet for someone to win that special trust, and give her a forever home. She does love a little outside space, like a porch or deck, and she's good with other cats. Please fill out our online form if you might be interested in adopting this beauty: https://form.jotform.com/81848821130152   ONLINE ADOPTION FORM:        https://form.jotform.com/81848821130152 We do not have a fixed adoption fee at For The Cats' Sake, but instead ask for a tax-deductible donation to our group. On average, we spend at least $125 to cover foster care, testing for FeLV and FIV, vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming and any vet care/medicine that is needed. We ask that you cover as much of the $125 as you can afford, and set a minimum donation at $50. Our goal is to find the best home for each animal, and we feel this policy makes it possible for more people to adopt one or more cats. It is important to us that every adopter can afford to care for their pets properly and give them a home for life. TNR and a whole lot more... November 17, 2024, 1:49 pm

Story
Meet Dakota and Slate!  These girls came to us from a local shelter when their family" moved and left them behind to fend for themselves. Suddenly after being fed kibble in a bowl, they now had to eat from trash cans or learn to hunt; after being inside a warm home, they now had to stay warm, find shelter, and learn about the not-so-friendly life on the streets. After some time, they were found by a Good Samaritan and taken to a shelter. There they stayed - each in their own cage - since December 2023 - 11 months -  and they were not able to comfort each other because they were in separate cages (every shelter's policy). Sadly, because they had been in the shelter for so long and the shelter was now at capacity, they were in the top 3 to be euthanized, so Forgotten Felines quickly took them into care.(The cat at the top of the list was also pulled and is now in her forever home!)Once in their foster home, they were excited to see each other again after being separated for so  long. They immediately snuggled together and groomed each other and have been inseparable since..These girls are bonded and must be adopted together. (We have a special - adopt 1, get 1 free!)Dakota is a beautiful, long haired white and gray beauty, just 3 years old. She is friendly an enjoys being pet and loved on. She adapts fairly quickly to people and enjoys taking naps in front of a sunny window. Slate is a beautiful Russian Blue, also 3 years old. Slate also warms up fairly quickly and enjoys being pet, sunny windows, and naps. They were found together and are bonded, after being through so much together. In their letter to Santa they wrote that they are happy for the gift of being together again and they are dreaming of being part of a loving family. Their perfect family would be a quiet, low activity home with a human or humans with with or without cat-friendly kids over the age of 10 years old. Both girls are ready to go home with an approved application. They are dewormed, spayed, are up to date on their FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, combo tested negative, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. Please consider meeting them and giving them  home. They have been through so much in their young lives already. Contact us at GoodMews22@aol.com or call 540.717.4420November 11, 2024, 11:45 am

Story
Meet Agate! “Agate and his brother, Onyx were found in a Culpeper backyard at just 4 months old. They were very bonded and Agate felt safe with Onyx. Sadly, Onyx passed away and Agate struggled for a while without him. He now has buddies that are both fosters and permanent cats at his foster home, whom he loves to play and snuggle. Agate is  handsome, long0haired tabby. He is that socially awkward shy and handsome guy that doesn’t know how handsome he is. He loves the company of other cats and is learning to trust people more and more. He is. VERY  friendly and charming. At dinner time, he head butts and rubs up against his foster mom in an effort to get as much wet food as he can. During the rest of the day, though Agate is more skittish and may startle if approached too quickly . He appears to be more comfortable around men than women, but, as mentioned earlier, does well with his foster mom. It's hard to say what happened to this poor baby in his past to make him so shy. Agate would be most comfortable in a quiet, low to medium level energy home. He will need a patient human or family who understands that he is shy and will  give him the time he needs to acclimate. He will need another cat or two who he can snuggle with and be buddy up with in his new home. He would love to have living space where he can have some hiding places and taller areas to survey the world from. “Agate is dewormed, up to date on his FVCRP and Rabies vaccines, neutered, combo tested negative, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Please think of giving this sweet boy a warm and loving home for the holidays. You won't regret it. GoodMews22@aol.com or call 540.717.4420.November 19, 2024, 1:40 am
