Story
Meet Rip Wheeler! This handsome 4-5 year old fellow holds a very special place in his foster mom’s heart, because he’s one of the first males from her huge trapping project that is able to be adopted! He was living the harsh outdoor life before they met and his life changed forever! It took him some time to come around and trust humans, but now he ready to find his forever family. He’s entirely too distinguished to play with toys, but he’s perfectly content to snooze on his cat tower and watch the other cats’ shenanigans! He also LOVES to sit in the window and watch the birds! He is an observer and loves to take everything in. Rip is FIV+, which causes him to have a weakened immune system, but don’t let that deter you from adopting him! He can still live a long, full, healthy life! Story
Say hello to Susie! This gorgeous senior girl is on her weight loss journey and is ready for a new forever home! In October 2022, Susie found herself at a veterinary office for euthanasia because her family couldn't handle her obesity and sanitary needs. The vet couldn't bear to put an overall healthy animal to sleep and reached out to Susie's foster family for help. Susie arrived at her foster home at a whopping 35 pounds! She is on a strict diet and has lost 11 pounds so far - down to 24! Her adopter will have to assist her with her weight loss journey by feeding her a specific diet food and encouraging exercise. She has so much more energy now and loves roaming the house. She is young at heart and loves teaser wands and string toys! She enjoys catnip, cat scratchers, and naps. Her favorite napping spot is anywhere in the warm sunshine - she especially loves going in the Florida room to soak up some rays. When she isn't napping, she is following her foster parents around the house - even to the bathroom! Susie is a GIANT cuddle bug! She enjoys snuggling up to her foster parents whether it be in bed or on the couch. She loves getting pets behind her ears and on her white chest. She will grab your hand softly so you don't stop petting her chest. She sometimes will boop your nose to get your attention and let you know she wants pets! Due to her weight, Susie is unable to properly groom herself which causes her to have sanitary issues. She needs to have her booty wiped or she can leave marks on her bed or blankets. Her foster parents find it helpful to shave her backside every so often. She is tolerant of it because she gets rewarded with a treat afterwards! Once Susie loses more weight, she will be able to groom herself better. Susie does not get along with other cats but she gets along great with her two foster dog sisters. She would do best with older children or children who respect her space. She can get sassy if you touch her belly or tail area! Are you looking for a chunk, a chunk of burning love? Look no further! Story
Alejandro (AJ) and Estevan (Stevie) are an adorable bonded brother pair who must be adopted TOGETHER! Due to an onslaught of kittens available for rescue, we have had the privilege of having Alejandro (AJ) in our home for longer than usual, as they wait patiently to be found and adopted, and as a foster mama, I wouldn’t be lying to say that these are some of the best kittens we’ve ever had! Both brothers! Living with these two is like winning the lottery. It makes me wish I knew their mama. Alejandro (AJ): AJ came to us very scared and it was immediately clear to me that out of the two trembling kittens, he was the protector when things got rough and they were on their own— he was just so brave, and when he thought Stevie was in trouble, despite obvious fear in his eyes, he came right at me, to get between us and protect his brother. Because of this, we fell for him HARD, right away. He was brave and sassy and I knew that these were things that he REQUIRED in order to survive, and survive he did! He has been with us now for months, and with a lot of work and patience, we have seen the most beautiful metamorphosis. I sort of had suspected that under all that fluff and hiss that he was probably one of the more soft and sensitive cats that I’d ever seen, and I was not wrong. He is an absolute love bug at this point. Instead of hissing, when you pick him up and love on him, he’ll push away playfully, but he can’t hide his little muffin paws, they just start kneading you, evidencing that he loves every minute of the snuggles. He now walks straight up to you, and does the most darling little dance when you are preparing his wet food in the mornings and at night, we call him happy feet. AJ is fluffy and curious and brave and loves his brother, Stevie (the other half of his bonded pair) and all of his foster family and guests with what appears to be all of his heart. Because of this, we’re hoping that his future family will be a safe place for him to continue his joyful reign. If this sounds like you, we’d love to meet you and let you get to know him! Estevan (Stevie): This precious little kitty is pure sugar, no spice. He’s part of a bonded pair with his fluffy brother AJ (Alejandro) who he loves deeply, but he loves pretty much any human or any cat! We call him our drapery, because he is a watcher, and he loves to drape over the kitchen counter to watch you cook or do dishes, or in the bathroom under the mirror to watch you get ready for the day. Wherever the action is, he is there to supervise, but he seems to approve of pretty much whatever you are up to. He has a beautiful calm disposition and even when he was brand new and wasn’t TERRIBLY sure that he was safe, could not resist a soft fluffy pillow or the warm fireplace for a stretchy nap. We just love this little guy and know that any home that he will end up in will be 1- well supervised and 2- so much better for it. Stevie is an incredible cat and can’t wait to meet you! Story
Meet Kokomo! She’s a beautiful medium girl who was pregnant when she was found outside. Outdoor life was not kind to her! She had a lot of scabs on her so you could tell she had been in several scuffles, but she’s all healed up now. She was a great mom to her babies, and now she’s ready for her forever home! She’s a very sweet girl if you follow her lead! She’ll let you know when she wants to be pet and when she’s had enough. She prefers to be pet on her head, but she’s started accepting pets down her back and a little on the sides - just beware the belly and paws. She loves to be combed, which is a big help with shedding! She can get overstimulated easily so a calming collar is helpful for her. She is not 100% trusting of people yet, although lately she has become much more trusting of her foster mom and hopefully all humans. She will do best with someone who is familiar with cats and can read her body language. When she hears her foster mom coming to the door or entering the room, Kokomo comes running for love and pets or is already sitting there waiting! She does not like to be picked up but will climb into your lap on her own, and she PURRRRS all the time! She also likes to make biscuits. She loves to be on the top of the cat tree! She is still learning to play, so she’s a little unsure of what to do with toys. Despite this, she put all the toys in the bathtub for her babies when they were way too young to play with them - she just knew they were supposed to do something with them! Every once in a while she will grab a toy and toss it around or carry it from one place to another, so we’re sure with time and patience and the right person she will come around. She hasn’t liked most wet food her foster mom has tried to give her, but hopefully her adopted can find one she likes! She doesn’t like other cats, and she needs a home without children. She is very low maintenance - mostly she just wants a quiet home with a human to feed her and love on her a couple times a day. Could you be purrfect purrson? Story
Turtle is a gorgeous long-haired grey and white boy with a darling personality! Words can't express how precious his little ear-floofs and toe-floofs are, and his tail is amazingly fluffy. This guy is going to grow up to be a stunner for sure! Turtle is also a complete goofball, he loves a good stretch and roll on the kitchen floor to beg for pets and treats, and he has been known to hide in grocery bags and jump out at the other cats to start a game of chase. He loves any kind of wand toy or laser pointer and is full of kitten energy. Turtle loves other cats and must be adopted into a home with at least one other friendly kitty (his brother Tuck is available if you don't already have a cat in the home)! He does great with his elementary-aged human foster brothers. He's never been exposed to dogs, but based on his early life experiences, he would do better in a cat-only home. Turtle isn't picky about food, has excellent litterbox manners, and is already neutered and ready for his forever home!
