Story
Meet Agate! “Agate and his brother, Onyx were found in a Culpeper backyard at just 4 months old. They were very bonded and Agate felt safe with Onyx. Sadly, Onyx passed away and Agate struggled for a while without him. He now has buddies that are both fosters and permanent cats at his foster home, whom he loves to play and snuggle. Agate is  handsome, long0haired tabby. He is that socially awkward shy and handsome guy that doesn’t know how handsome he is. He loves the company of other cats and is learning to trust people more and more. He is. VERY  friendly and charming. At dinner time, he head butts and rubs up against his foster mom in an effort to get as much wet food as he can. During the rest of the day, though Agate is more skittish and may startle if approached too quickly . He appears to be more comfortable around men than women, but, as mentioned earlier, does well with his foster mom. It's hard to say what happened to this poor baby in his past to make him so shy. Agate would be most comfortable in a quiet, low to medium level energy home. He will need a patient human or family who understands that he is shy and will  give him the time he needs to acclimate. He will need another cat or two who he can snuggle with and be buddy up with in his new home. He would love to have living space where he can have some hiding places and taller areas to survey the world from. “Agate is dewormed, up to date on his FVCRP and Rabies vaccines, neutered, combo tested negative, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Please think of giving this sweet boy a warm and loving home for the holidays. You won't regret it. GoodMews22@aol.com or call 540.717.4420.November 19, 2024, 1:40 am

Meet SnowBall, the cutest little package of white and gray fluff you've ever seen! SnowBall was found all alone at just 4 -5 weeks, on the side of the road on  a frigid December night by Good Samaritans.SnowBall loves to snuggle and will curl up right under your neck. But when she’s ready to play, she is on! She is the fastest little fluff ball around! We’re thinking of entering her in the kitten Olympics! She loves to play with her dangling toys and jingle balls and is very curious about other cats and absolutely loves people. She MUST be adopted with another kitten. ($55 discount when adopting two.)SnowBall will be ready to go home after her booster vaccine, approximately the 1st week of January, but you can pre-adopt her now. She is/will be dewormed, spayed, receive her FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, be combo tested, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. You won't need to pay to re-register every year, we've done it for you!nterested? Please fill out an application at: https://www.jotform.com/form/221029453063044December 20, 2024, 1:10 am

Meet Lurch, Pugsley, and Gomez, 3 little kittens are 9 - 10 weeks old and recently came to us from a VA shelter when the shelter was overcrowded and animals were at risk of euthanasia. These 3 brothers are a bit shy and timid currently but are very playful and sweet. Lurch is a long-haired black kitten, Pugley and Gomez are black and white masked tuxedos, each with white mustaches. Because they are so young, they will need to be adopted with another kitten ($55 discount when adopting two) and will require a low to moderate activity house with kids over the age of 4 years old.All are/will be dewormed, receive 2 FVRCP vaccines, a Rabies vaccine, be combo tested, neutered, and microchipped with a lifetime registration, No need to pay to re-register every year we've done it for you. Story
Blanche and her housemates came to us after their owner passed away…Rose(orange tabby) about 8 years old. Blanche(gray/white) about 4 years old. Jax, terrier mix about 8 years young. Blanche is an affectionate and chatty fluff ball. This girl just wants to be the center of someones world. She loves attention and being with people but likes to take moments to herself! Blanche has moments were she is shy, nervous and confused wondering what is happening but getting a little better each day. Rose will be fully vetted and we would love to see her in a home for Thanksgiving! Rose and Blanche do not have to go together.. they definitely don’t appear to be bonded and do argue a bit! Blanche is current on all vaccines, spayed and microchipped. Given dewormer, flea/tick prevention and tested for FIV/FLV. Story
Meet Sparkles, the adorable Pit Bull Mix who is ready to sprinkle some love and happiness into your life! This sweet 2-year-old girl was surrendered by her previous owner after being a dedicated mother to her puppies. Unfortunately, her owner could no longer afford to care for her once the puppies found their forever homes. Sparkles is an energetic and active girl, weighing around 50 lbs. She loves nothing more than running and playing with her favorite stuffed toys. This loving girl is a constant companion and will stick by your side like a Velcro dog. She's a people pleaser and will do anything to make you happy. Sparkles is not only cute and playful but also clever and curious. She loves meeting new people and will greet you with a friendly wag of her tail. She gets along well with other dogs but will need a furry friend who can match her energy level. We are looking for an active and patient family who can provide Sparkles with the love and care she deserves. Sparkles has been spayed, microchipped and Heartworm tested. We have updated all vaccines including rabies. She has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention. Story
For The Cats' Sake BLONDIE is a beautiful cat who came to us with kittens when we rescued them from outside an apartment building. BLONDIE was semi-feral when we got her, and fearful of people, but not aggressive. After getting to know humans better, she let's us  stroke her and even pick her up but she is not cuddly, and will just take that special cat person to form a bond, and help her that last step of the way . She does love a little outside space whether it is a porch, deck or chance to go outside once she's really established in her forever home. BLONDIE is also good with other cats, but most likely would not be the best with small children. Please fill out our online form if you might be interested in adopting this beauty: https://form.jotform.com/81848821130152   ONLINE ADOPTION FORM:        https://form.jotform.com/81848821130152 We do not have a fixed adoption fee at For The Cats' Sake, but instead ask for a tax-deductible donation to our group. On average, we spend at least $125 to cover foster care, testing for FeLV and FIV, vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming and any vet care/medicine that is needed. We ask that you cover as much of the $125 as you can afford, and set a minimum donation at $50. Our goal is to find the best home for each animal, and we feel this policy makes it possible for more people to adopt one or more cats. It is important to us that every adopter can afford to care for their pets properly and give them a home for life. TNR and a whole lot more... December 14, 2024, 1:25 pm

Story
Affectionate Ayisha was rescued together with a bushel of kittens. Not knowing which kittens belonged to which mom...Ayisha stayed together and remained close companions with Ruth another Tortie and Delilah. Based on their close relationship we supposed they could be mother/daughter or sisters. Ayisha now stays in a a cat dorm with several other cats, and kittens. She loves sun bathing, is extremely affectionate, quiet, loves being pet, purrs constantly whether she is being pet or you're just in her presence. She is playful, especially with Catnip toys. She can be very friendly even to new people she hasn't even met before. She would do well in a Low-Mid Energy home, one that is looking to give her all the love and pets she wants. If you're looking for a beautiful, affectionate Tortie who absolutely loves being pet then look no further, Affectionate Ayisha is the perfect gal! Story
If sweet Stella looks sad, she is Her human mom is very sick and unable to care for her any longer.  An only cat, she was adopted from us in 2021 after raising her kittens, and has been a spoiled rotten baby ever since. This girl needs love, a warm lap, and lots of brushing that long floofy coat. And she's still a very playful girl! Now apprx  4 years old, she is fully vetted, microchipped, and available to meet at Lake Anna.  Please email megshrum@gmail.com with questions and follow the adoption process below. The Adoption Process If you are ready to meet this feline please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10664/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match.   The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about their likes, dislikes, and little quirks.   The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take the feline home as your furry forever friend, their adoption fee is $125. Should the match turn out less than perfect, or if you are unwilling or unable to care for an adopted animal, the Louisa Humane Society will take the animal back into our care. ##1142765##

Story
Meet Stella R. Tois aka "Stella," Jenna C. Brew, and Jennings - 3 one -year-old sisters who are looking for a home. These 3 girls have been with us since they were little kittens, about 8 weeks old. They were found in the parking lot of the brewery in downtown Culpeper.Stella is the braver of the 3 sisters and enjoys being pet, once she gets to know you, on her terms Usually while eating). Jenna C. and Jennings (like twins!) are very shy but submissive. When they need vetted, it isn't difficult to pick them up and place them in a carrier - again, once they are comfortable with you. These girls are not barn cat material. They cannot defend themselves and are not street smart. They are, what we refer to as Violets - or shrinking violets. Stella, Jenna, and Jennings need a patient, quiet, loving home where they will be loved for who they are and their new person or family will be patient until they come out of their shell and learn to trust. They are litter box trained, but at times can knock the litter out or knock the box over. Easily fixed. They are not aggressive. They do not claw furniture and would love a large climber in front of a sunny window. Because they are not lap cats, they have lived a year in foster care and are yearning for their new home.Won't you please open your heart to them? Their perfect home would be a quiet, low activity home with either no children or children over the age of 14. Adoption fee - adopt 1 get 2 free. They just need a good, loving home. Thank you. Please note: they are bonded and all 3 need to be adopted together.GoodMews22@aol.com or call 540.717.4420 Digital application: https://www.jotform.com/form/221029453063044 December 17, 2024, 10:41 am
