Story
All of our cats are current on vaccines, combo tested (FIV/FELV) , spayed/neutered, microchipped, given rabies vaccine as age appropriate, flea treatment and dewormer as needed   Peanut, approx DOB 11/17/19, was abandoned when his previous owners moved out of their apartment. Fortunately, he found a feral colony that was being fed to hang out with, but the outside world was no life for him. To make matters worse, he ended up with a horrible ear infection while he was outside which resulted in him becoming mostly deaf. He can sometimes hear really loud noises, but we estimate his hearing loss to be about 80-85%. Additionally, since he was abandoned, he is very slow to warm up to people and trust them, but he absolutely adores other cats and is very dependent on them. For the most part, he does not even want to eat unless he has a friend to keep him company. Peanut will be looking for a quiet home with at least one other very cat-friendly cat to be his BFF. Peanut's favorite activities are lounging around looking regal, playing with track ball towers, and getting wet food. He really enjoys being petted, but can still be a bit shy to accept the pets until he realizes how awesome they are .  T-AW**Want to adopt? Story
Lilac Brooke was born on the first of February in a warm, safe home where her mom had been placed just in time to give birth during an unseasonably cold winter spell. This little girl has never known what street life is like but is naturally reserved and cautious. Lilac Brooke takes her time getting to know new people and situations. She will thrive in a calm, quiet home where she can be herself without others’ expectations being placed on her little shoulders. Good days are days when nothing unexpected happens, and Lilac can go from one routine to another without disruption. She will need an experienced adopter who understands and respects her uniqueness. Lilac Borooke is up-to-date on vaccinations and is spayed and microchipped. She is litter-box trained and uses cat trees and scratching posts appropriately. If you are reading this, we are still accepting applications on this pet. Please read the Adoption Process steps below. Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application.  https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##1643957##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.North Texas Cat Rescue P.O Box 1504 McKinney, TX 75070 214.454.9395 www.northtexascatrescue.com We have a bit of an unusual situation; we have a bonded trio of cats. We’re fairly certain that Peychaud is the dad to Skye and Whiskey. They were all dumped outside where a really nice lady trapped them and had them fixed. Thankfully, we were able to help and got them inside before a cold front hit. They are all sweet, but are shy at first. Skye is the smallest and most reserved/shyest of the trio. She has adjusted really well to being indoors only. She has excellent litter box manners and uses a scratching post well. These 3 babies were definitely someone’s pets at one time, but for some unknown reason, they were dumped and left to fend for themselves. They are great with other cats and are tolerant of dogs. We do not believe they will do well in a home with small children as they prefer a quiet environment. If you’re interested in meeting them, please fill out an application on NTCR’s website. Please note, we do not adopt out-of-state and as they are a bonded trio, most apartment complexes have a 2-pet maximum.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please contact NTCR AT 214.454.9395 should you have any concerns or questions. Please note: We appreciate all interest in our cats and kittens, but we are an all volunteer organization. Please be patient with regard to a call back. Should you need to surrender the cat you adopted from NTCR, please email us at surrenderNTCRcat@northtexascatrescue.com. July 3, 2024, 11:38 am
