Story
Affectionate, goofy, and totally gorgeous! Meet Vampire Slayer! This fabulously fluffy girl is ready to "slay" your heart, and is guaranteed to charm anyone she meets! Vampire Slayer, known as Buffy in her foster home, is half kitten, half bunny, and 100% perfect. While her care may look a little different from other kitties, she loves to snuggle and play just like any other kitten! Vampire Slayer has Manx Syndrome, and as is common with Manx cats, her spine is shortened and didn't develop normally. As a result, she doesn't have a tail and her back legs are wonky - which is why she looks a bit like a bunny as she hops around! She is also incontinent, and needs manual expressions about three times a day to help her go potty. It's pretty straightforward, and doesn't take much time to care for her! Once you get the hang of it, it could take no more than 15 minutes a day; APA! will show you how to manually express Vampire Slayer and make sure you are comfortable with it. Vampire Slayer is a goofy and energetic kitten, and hops around the house at lighting speed, "slaying" every toy in her path! She loves to play with the other kitties in her foster home, and she would love to find a forever home where she can have kitty playmates! She has never met a dog, but would likely do just fine with a slow introduction. While Vampire Slayer may need a little extra care, including manual expressions, a daily medication, and the occasional booty bath, she will repay her humans in endless purrs, snuggles, and hilarious kitten antics! Her foster parents would love to tell you more about this very special kitten and answer any questions you have about her needs - contact us today to arrange a meet-and-greet! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Vampire Slayer, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Story
Floofy, friendly, fun Laszlo is drop-dead gorgeous! He wears a long, soft tuxedo and sports a little soul patch under his chin. When you see this magnificent floof you will just want to scoop him up and snuggle him, and he'll be happy to have you do that! He's especially fond of cheek and chin scratches. Laszlo loves to spend his days gazing out the window, rolling around in catnip, playing with balls, and goofing around with his bestie Racecar. Laszlo gets along with cats in general, but he grew up with Racecar and would really love to bring Racecar along to his forever home. Laszlo suffered some injuries as a kitten which left him incontinent. He requires some extra medical care, which may include a regulated diet and/or manual expression. Caring for an incontinent cat is easier than you may think. Want proof? Check out this video: bit.ly/CatExpressionDemo Please reach out if you have any questions. We are happy to talk about Laszlo and how to care for incontinent cats! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Laszlo, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Story
Affectionate, Biscuit-making, Sweet girl! You better start figuring out what you're going to do with all the biscuits that Toe Bean Jolene is going to make! Because she is a professional, and will make biscuits on you, the floor, any surface she can. She's the real deal! Toe Bean Jolene (most fun name ever) is gentle and quite affectionate! She loves her people, and simply wants to be with you and share her love. Though she has a curious nature, she prefers sharing affection to playing! To quote Dolly Parton, Jolene's "beauty is beyond compare." We quite agree! She has a lusciously long, blue-gray coat with apricot and creamy accents. Technically, her coat is a dilute tortoiseshell, but we just call it WOWEEEEEEE! She is gorgeous, and her long, fluffy tail and big eyes are the cherry on top of her Stunning Sundae. Toe Bean Jolene would like a calm home to match her calm personality. And on the quieter side, with people to love and make biscuits for. She's easy to please! Contact us today to arrange a meet & greet! Toe Bean Jolene has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. She can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Toe Bean Jolene, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Story
Goose is incredibly special. I LOVE this boy!!  Goose was found in a dumpster in San Marcos, TX (along with his siblings). They were taken to the local shelter. Covid was in place so the shelter closed their doors. Only rescues were allowed in. This is how I got Goose and his siblings. All have long since been adopted out. Goose was the BEST cat to have around because he grew up loving kittens! He was so good at calming them down, grooming them, etc. When Goose was about a year, he got a bad URI from another foster kitty. He was treated but had a harder time recovering. He stayed here longer (he was my kitten tamer) and that is when I noticed other issues happening. Long story short, Goose most likely has IBD (no biopsy has been done - per vets suggestion). I can go into great length about this to anyone interested. Right now, I am going to do my best to find him the ABSOLUTE best home. He deserves it. Ideally, Goose would go to another home that already has an IBD kitty. He needs a novel protein diet. He is currently on wet and dry food, probiotics mixed in. Experienced adopter would be ideal. Someone who understands this condition and knows how to manage it. Goose currently gets steroid injections (by me), goes to the vet every 6 months and is doing well. Because I do have other cats in the house with special diets, it has been a challenge keeping Goose on track, which is VERY important with IBD. Goose needs to have another kitty friend. He loves grooming and being groomed.  I know finding him the perfect home will be difficult but willing to wait it out :-) I love this boy so much but want him to find a home where his condition can be managed and he can live a long healthy life! He deserves it!!! For more info. on Goose, please contact Stephanie directly. 512-694-6209 or stefpq@yahoo.comWould love to have a somewhat local adopter so I can be close should something arise. I have so many photos and videos of Goose I am more than happy to share, just can't put them all online here. He really is the most handsome fellow! ##1968417##
