Story
**"Opportunity to Offer Love and Care to a Special Senior Cat!"**Meet London, a resilient cat who captured our hearts when she came into our care in 2022. Despite facing cruelty and neglect, London's spirit shines bright. Though all four of her paws were inhumanely declawed, she's ready to embrace a new chapter in life. At 13.5 years old, she deserves comfort and security.London's journey hasn't been easy. Alongside her physical challenges, including hyperthyroidism, which requires daily medication, she grapples with understandable feelings of insecurity. However, there are glimpses of her true self—moments when she welcomes affection and grooming. Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, London is now in a foster home, but we're on a mission to find her a forever family. We believe she'll thrive in an environment without young children or other pets, where patience and understanding abound. If you're ready to open your heart to London, please contact Ellery at (629) 777-6850 or visit www.maarcadopt.org/adopt to fill out an application. And here's some fantastic news: London's adoption fee is covered! Let's make London's golden years truly special—let's find her the loving home she deserves!

Story
Angela is a beautiful long-haired gray tabby and white female about 6 months old (DOB about 6/1/24).  She was one of many cats and kittens trapped at an abandoned house. She's more than happy to sit in your arms on your lap, but she's not assertive and won't make the first move. She lives in a foster home with her siblings and a small dog, and we think she will be good with older kids.  She is ready for her own new, permanent home.  She loves to play with toys or other cats and is never bored.  She's negative for feline leukemia and aids, has had her first distemper and rabies vaccines, been wormed, vet checked, and spayed.  The second (final) FVRCP booster is included in the adoption fee.  Preference will be given to adopters who have a young playmate/companion for the kitten.  We typically do not adopt kittens to homes where they will be a solo pet.   If interested in this cutie pie, please contact Holly at 865-671-4564 or hhfrey1@tds.net.   We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. The majority of our cats and kittens come from high kill shelters. Through our application and interview process, we strive to make the 'purrfect' match to insure a loving, lifelong home for those in our care. We do NOT receive funding from any national organization, federal or state governments.November 28, 2024, 2:57 pm

Story
I was born where my foster mom works with my two brothers. Our mom brought us out when she felt we would be safe. Someone she works with took my brothers to keep and that left me and my Mom alone . Foster Mom stepped in and took us home with her. I am a little shy but like other cats. I havent been around dogs, but I hear them barking outside our house.

These pups are in Maryville, Tennessee too!

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Hi there! We're Eddie and Gabe, two dashing Maine Coon brothers looking for a new place to call home—together, of course. You see, our human had to move into assisted living, and we couldn't go with her. We've always been around other kitties and people, and we miss having a cozy spot and a loving family to snuggle with. I'm Eddie, the one with the more white fur and my brother Gabe here has more brown in his coat. We may be eight years old, but we've got plenty of love to give! We’re gentle and sweet. We’ve lived with other cats who don’t have FIV, and guess what? They’re perfectly healthy! FIV isn’t the big deal some people think it is. As long as we don’t get into major scuffles (which we never do), we can live happily with other cats. Most rescues up north don’t even test for it anymore! All we want is a calm, quiet home where we can keep each other company—and maybe get some nice ear scratches from you, too! We'd be thrilled to cozy up in the bed with you! If you’ve got room in your heart and home for two loving boys like us, we promise to make it worth your while. Come meet us, and you’ll see! Cuddles,Eddie & Gabe If you would like to meet your new best friends, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you cannot get it to work, let us know and we will email it to you in a different format. Unless otherwise noted, all Almost Home cats are healthy, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and flea & tick preventative.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. December 10, 2024, 10:14 pm

My brother Eddie (he’s the one with more white fur) and I are in search of a cozy, calm home where we can stay together. We’ve been through a lot recently—our human had to move into assisted living, and we had to say goodbye. It's been hard, and we really miss having a family to love us. I won’t lie, we’re pretty desperate for a fresh start, but we know there's someone out there who’ll open their heart to us. We’re eight years old, but that just means we’ve perfected the art of being the best companions! We love being around other kitties and people, and we never cause a fuss. We would love to sleep with you! We’re not fighters—just lovers, really—so even though we’re FIV-positive, it’s no big deal. The other cats we lived with didn’t get it, and most places up north don’t even test for it anymore. We just need someone who understands that love matters more than any label. Eddie and I are a package deal—we’ve always been together, and we can’t imagine life any other way. We’re ready to bring warmth, purrs, and a whole lot of sweetness to a new home. If you’ve got room for two loving brothers who just want to feel safe and cherished again, we’d be forever grateful. Come meet us, and let us show you how much we’ve been saving up all our love for you! Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Hi there! My name’s Winston, and let me tell you, I’ve had quite the adventure! One day, I dared to walk right into a stranger’s house through an open door. I was hoping for a warm welcome (and maybe a snack!), but they weren’t as thrilled as I was. Next thing I knew, I was at the shelter, wondering what went wrong. Thankfully, my guardian angel came and whisked me away, knowing I just needed a chance to find someone who could love me as much as I love people. I’m a big boy—17 pounds of pure cuddle power—and I love to be the center of attention. In fact, being the star of the show is kind of my thing! If you’re around, I’ll be right there, ready for some head scratches or a cozy spot next to or on you. I’m told I’m very handsome, and I do my best to keep up that charm, because, honestly, I just want to be loved. My foster mom hasn't been able to test me with other cats, so she's not sure how I’d do with them, but I’ve done well with dogs! At 6.5 years old, I’m just the right age—mature enough to appreciate a good nap but still young enough for playtime. I would appreciate a calm home and I would do well with older children. Could you be the one to give me a cozy, loving home where I can finally relax? I promise, I’ll make every day just a little brighter.
