Story
Meet Winter! This timid younger girl is looking for a patient adopter that can help her to blossom into a loving kitty. She has a hard time with new environments and meeting new people, so a quieter, low traffic home would likely be the easiest for her to acclimate to. Winter may benefit from going home with another cat or being adopted into a family with a confident outgoing cat looking for a friend. If you are interested in Winter, please call us here at (401)846-8276. You are welcome to stop by our Animal Care and Adoption Center here in Middletown, RI to meet with her at any time. Feel free to visit our website, www.potterleague.org, for more information on adopting from us.

Story
Adoption Donation  $99 Located: in RI  Age: 10 years old Weight: 10  lbs.        Waffles loves to bask in the sun during the day and snuggle with his person at night.  He would do best as the only animal in an adult household.  He looks forward to breakfast and dinner time and makes it known vocally. He is a gorgeous long-haired gentleman. If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information.  lizlovesanimals@outlook.com   Please verify the location and readiness of this cat with us.  Because we save lives from various locations throughout the United States, some cats may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Story
Rosie is a sweet little girl with a big heart.  She’s very petite. She has short munchkin legs. She has beautiful long hair and bushy tail with Gorgeous green eyes. She’s very Timid and Shy and very quiet. She takes a little bit to warm up to her human but once she does she’s very loving. She doesn’t like loud noises. She stays to herself. She’s very independent and loves other cats. She wouldn’t do well as an only cat.  She needs someone to be patient with her and show her how to trust and love. She would do great in a quiet home. She’s not a lap cat but you can pick her up and hold her.  Not sure how she is with dogs because she’s never been around any but couldn’t be a loud barking one because she’s scared of loud noise. Probably do best with older well mannered children. Indoor only. Rosie is looking for her furever home ##2568210##

Story
Smurfette 2 1/2 years old beautiful sweet girl. She is the Biggest Lap cat there ever was. She will sit in your lap until you physically put her down. She is so loving and wants lots of Attention from her human. She just wants to be with someone all the time. Would make a wonderful Emotional support animal for someone. She is very quiet and lazy. Very tidy with her food and liter. She’s ok with other cats after slow acclimation but would do great as an only child.  Smurfette is Indoor only and looking for her furever home. ##2552508##

Story
Meet Solstice and Gino! This father and son duo are both gorgeous, sweet as can be, and are looking for their forever home...preferably together!Solstice (with more black on his face) is about two and a half years old and Gino is about a year and a half old. They both weigh about 9lbs so are not only similar in good looks, but also in size. Both are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, FIV/FeLV-, and ready to go to their forever homes! They are currently in our free roaming, community cat room and have been doing wonderfully with other cats. They coexist peacefully, don't participate in any of the standard hierarchy drama, and are smart enough to steer clear of the bossier felines. They are both mellow, sweet, affectionate boys that have a ton of love to give. They're young enough to still have spurts of silly, playful kitten energy but mature enough to appreciate a good nap in the sunshine. If you're looking for a companion or two who will keep you company curled up on the couch while you read a good book, these two are for you. Solstice's passions include bird watching and hogging sunny spots while Gino's are napping in a window and getting chin scratches. We can dog test them upon request but honestly they should be fine with them. They would also do well with kids as long as the kids know not to pull on whiskers or tug on tails.
