Story
Stormie is a long haired 7 year old chunky girl. She is very affectionate once she gets to know you but is timid in the beginning. She will require patience until she settles into her new home. She will need to be the only cat in the home but she may get along with a laid back dog. The quieter the home the better for her. She is spayed, vaccinated and microshipped.

Story
Birthdays: Grace 2015 & Frankie 2014 This must come to a shock for some people, but these two girls are actually mother and daughter! They came into LCCR after their owner passed away to seek a new life and family.  They originally came as Precious and Gaby, but everyone has come to know them as Grace and Frankie! They're hoping to find a home that has a calm environment without all of that pesky hustle and bustle! They've lived their entire lives together, and they want to keep it that way. Grace is just too precious for Frankie to let go.  We're sure any mothers who are close to their daughters can understand her situation! They may not be lap cats, but they'd do anything to sit close to you.  They know humans will shower them with attention, which they desperately want! They have so much love to give; they just need someone to get to know them!  That's why we think these two would do wonderfully with an older couple or a single adult.     These girls are quite the playmates!  They enjoy their playtime ever day.  It could be chasing a bit of string or nomming on some ribbon.  They could care less as long as it's fun! They see their cardboard scratching pads and sisal rope posts as the best places to rub against. And brushing! Don't get them starting on brushing! They LOVE it! It could be a soft touch burhs or a grooming glove; it's all great! With Grace's long fur, she'll need it!   So what is each kitty like?  Well, Frankie is the momma with the mixture of orange and gray tortie coloring, sporting some sweet white socks and gloves and a bib for good measure!  Her eyes are like golden suns.  Her flat found face is just too precious to resist!  Her fur is almost as soft as silk! She's the most outgoing between the two and loves to cheek rub with you! Her hobbies include snoozing in soft places, chasing jingle balls, and rubbing her face on... well anything she can find!   Grace is Frankie's daughter, whom she had at a very young age.  She was named after a Jane Fonda character for a reason.  She's beautiful, and she knows it! Her long fur is the perfect blend of greay and buff, making her an eye-catching dilute! She has a noticeable white patch on her chest too! She inherited her mother's beautiful genetics as she too walks around with white socks and gloves! She tends to hand back when there's someone new in the home, but just give her time and love!  She'll come around, and you'll witness her pet-powered purr machine in action! The best way to coax her is with a few treats! She can be a bit of a diva, but she is as loving and sweet as her mother.    Frankie and Grace's adoption donation is $115 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay. If you would like more information on Frankie and Grace, please contact Christine at lovingcarecatrescue@gmail.com. If you would like to fill out an online application, please visit https://lovingcarecatrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/  Please note:  LCCR does not allow our adopted cats and kittens to be declawed.  All adopted kitties are to be kept as indoor-only pets.If you are interested in adopting this kitty, please fill out the online application at https://alovingcarecatrescue.org/adoptionapplication.html September 6, 2024, 8:50 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.    Harlow is so adorable with her coat of many colors and wrapped up with long hair too!  She must know she is so beautiful as she can be a bit of a diva. She has been a very shy girl but has really come out of her shell in the few weeks her foster mom has had her. Because she is so shy she really needs a mentor cat in the home or another one of her foster buddies to pal around with. Due to this shyness, she can not be adopted as a lone kitten. She used to run away but now waits for her mom to pick her up for snuggles. Then you can hear the purr purr start. It will still take her a bit of time to get used to a new person and place, but it will be worth it after you see how playful and sweet she is. She has not been raised with children and most likely will not do well with them. We suggest older children that are quiet and reserved.  She and her siblings were found living in a rock wall where the mom cat stashed them to keep them safe from predators. They were quite scared of people. Harlow loves to tussle with her sister Heidi and the other foster kittens in the home and hopes that one of them can be adopted with her. Or at least there has to be another nurturing kitty that will play with her and help her navigate a new home and people.  She is fine with brushing and clipping her claws. Canned food is a good bribe for friendship and trust. She is a good girl with the litterbox.. To apply visit our website at www.castawaycritters.org/adopt This kitten tested negative for FIV/FeLV and is age appropriate up to date on vaccines. She has been spayed and microchipped.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 7, 2024, 3:17 pm

Story
Garbo is a beautiful long haired girl with a heartfelt story. She is learning to trust her humans after not having the greatest life for nearly two years. Her eyes are stunning and actually change from a golden color to a deep rust color (her previous owner named her Rusty). Garbo came into her foster home on 3/14/24 with her six 4-day old kittens because her then owner thought the kittens were ugly (not long haired like her first litter) and threatened to throw her and the kittens outside. But Garbo sadness didn’t start here, it started before this litter of kittens. Garbo was an indoor/outdoor cat, and after having her first beautiful litter, the family thought it was OK to let her outside to get pregnant the second time in hopes of having more kittens like her first litter. The evening that Garbo came to me she was covered in mats that took about four weeks of combing and conditioning her coat to get them out. She also had sticks and twigs matted into her back end so bad they had to be cut out. She had ear mites as well. It truly broke my heart. Garbo was scared and wondering why she was removed from the place she knew as her home. For several days would growl and hiss whenever you would get close to her or her babies. After a few days, she calmed down and realized she could trust us. Garbo still showed signs of displeasure towards my husband and son, and we figured at that point she had been abused by the husband at the house where she came from. Change still comes hard for Garbo, but each time we move her to another room her upsets are shorter. Two days ago was the first she purred for me and rolled over for belly rubs! We are working on socializing her with our personal cats and other foster cats in the home at a very slow pace. Our hopes are that she will begin to get along with at least some of them. However, if she does not, we know she will do great as a single animal. Garbo loves her treats so this is one avenue we are using to help her understand that she can trust guys too! She enjoys playing with catnip toys and loves to scratch on scratching post. The laser light is another favorite of hers. Garbo is spayed, tested negative for FIV/FELV and heartworm. She is up-to-date on vaccines, flea treated, dewormed, and is micro chipped. If you are someone who is willing to take a chance on this beautiful girl and not expect her to be your best friend the first day go ahead and fill out an application and we can talk. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdQcj1lEWjtzv3v-HtlrKlxFQjxedLGi_t7FH-KmAfBAnigDA/viewform

Story
Prince came in with Cher and they both came in from a hoarding case where there was 25 cats and five dogs staying in a motel room. Although I wouldn't say that they're necessarily completely bonded I do feel that they would do better together. Prince can be a little shy to begin with but is an extreme love bug and will cuddle with anybody that's laid back. He's very pretty boy he likes to be the center of attention.

Story
Bonded pair adoption fee $550 TRIXIE AND PIPER Our precious cats have filled a special void in our hearts for many years and have given us lots of love and joy! With limited space in a small home and a growing family, we are looking to rehome these sweet girls to another family who can give them the attention and love they need. -For many years they have been our “first babies.” We had our “Table Tiger” and “Sugar Baby” before we adopted our own son two and half years ago. -We think they would be great with a couple without children or with a small family dynamic who has older school - aged children. -They love children but they do get overwhelmed with toddlers, aka “little humans” more easily. -Both of our cats have been accustomed to indoor living but also enjoy having an outdoor adventure spirit. It would be important to us that they live in a neighborhood that would allow this! -They have never lived with any other pets, but have had exposure being around backyard chickens. -Both struggle with hairballs and/or dirty butts, but not often and we’ve never had any health concerns. -Every vet visit, our doctor has said that both cats have a clean bill of health. Healthy ears, eyes, organs, skin, etc. -It’s a chore to brush them both, but when they’ve had a fresh hair-do, they love it tremendously. TRIXIE and PIPER are both long-haired domestic house cats. -Trixie is a beautiful orange with white gloves and white boots. -Piper is soft, solid white with sweet little pink ears and a pink tummy. Both are female and they were born in 2015. Trixie was our sweet little “foundling” who we found in our front yard one Sunday morning. We gave her a birth date of July 4, 2015 judging from her age at the time we took her for her initial vet appointment. Piper was born the runt of her indoor “solid-white” furry litter. We adopted her from a friend in January/February of 2016, but we know that she was born on September 7, 2015. Trixie is talkative, nosy and opinionated. She’ll come right up to you even if you’re the most non-cat loving person! She plops down in your lap at any moment's notice. She is definitely more nocturnal than her sister! She thinks she’s missing out on something if she can’t roam around at night. We have always said she’ll get the “late night crazies” sometimes and run in circles - but this is probably typical for a lot of cats. She’s not afraid to jump on you in the middle of the night as she is in this phase. She does scratch furniture but just very very minimally. We have never had any issues except for where she scratches occasionally in one spot on her favorite corner of the bed frame! ;/ Piper is so sugary sweet, and she’ll lick you to death. She loves “chasing rabbits” when she falls asleep on your lap while having belly rubs. She is much more timid with humans she doesn’t know. She has also been more skittish in the past couple of years - anxiety probably contributed to our very high energy toddler, who loves to give very rough affection. Nine times out of ten, she’ll sleep through the night at the foot of our bed, but she will have her late night roams around the house too occasionally. She hates being cold! She’ll pick anywhere warm and cozy to curl up for a nap! She does also scratch, but has only scratched at the door or on a wall when she wants to be fed or to be let outside. She’ll sometimes feel tough and think she’s a big cat. She’s still very much a kitten at heart and loves to play. She’ll pick a fight with her big sister out of jest but is quickly defeated. HEALTH AND PERSONAL INFORMATION: -NINE YRS OLD. -SPAYED and ID MICROCHIPPED. -NEVER DECLAWED. -FULLY VACCINATED AND RABIES UP TO DATE. -REQUESTING FOR CATS TO STAY TOGETHER. If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Our rescue are fostered in Alabama foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test (Dogs) for animals over 7 months old, feline leukemia testing (cats) all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!
