Story
Bella is a delightful 13-year-old kitty with a heart full of love. Just one glance at her beautiful, luxurious black coat will have you smitten! She adores catnip and treats, and there's nothing she enjoys more than a cozy spot to relax in. While Bella has a playful side, she can be a bit timid and is easily startled by loud noises, so she would thrive in a calm and quiet home. This affectionate girl is looking for a patient and caring companion who can provide her with a safe and serene environment. Bella is ready to share her golden years with someone who appreciates the simple joys of life-like soft pets, gentle purring, and the occasional treat. If you're ready to open your heart to a sweet senior like Bella, come meet her today!

Story
Addison is a 3-year-old girl with a gentle, affectionate spirit and a heart full of love. She first arrived with us as a stray back in 2023, then found a home-only to recently come back to us as a stray once more. Despite our efforts, we couldn't reunite her with her previous family, so now Addison is on the lookout for a truly forever home. Though we don't know much about her life in a home, Addison's warm and friendly nature shines through. She's an affiliative girl who loves people and is eager for companionship. She's hoping for a stable, loving environment where she can finally settle down for good. If you're ready to give Addison the fresh start she deserves, she'd love to become your loyal companion. Could you be the one to give her the home she's been searching for?

- NOW YOU DID IT! You found a cat rescue that’s unique and fun to visit too! We do some really BIG things for the community cats in Pittsburgh. It is an awesome place to come and see if your next kitty cat is here, patiently waiting for you. The big named shelters no longer do combo testing, so if you have another cat in the home, please consider your local small rescue. You"ll want to look into a combo tested cat-to keep your cat from unknowingly being exposed to a disease. The rescue is on the 2nd & 3rd floors of my big Pittsburgh home (I reside on the 1st floor). Set up an appointment to come and visit by calling or text FAON @ 412-863-0064. I will show you all the cats and then you/yours can go around and visit with them. Once the adults are vetted and tested/vaccinated- we let them free roam. There is a large, outside CAT E O where some enjoy to layout outside. There is also plenty of room inside for a good cat nap .All the cats are SPAYED/NEUTERED, dewormed, given Capstar for fleas, have at least one/two FVRCP vaccines, rabies, ear mite treated (if needed), combo tested for FeLV & FIV, and microchipped. All included in the adoption fee. Be sure to look around, spend time with them. We always have cats in a wide variety of age/personalities. Don't forget to visit the one in the corner, those cats need a chance and will blossom in a calmer environment (and are often the best cats). “Feel their soul” if you would and see if it pairs to yours. If you fall in love here, great. If not, no hard feelings. Most people say it was hard to choose. We changed the cat’s life by rescuing them. Now they need rescued one last time…..could you be that person? We hope so. The cats here were rescued from outside, neglect, poverty, or were left somewhere purposely or just needed to be found. This is really an AMAZING process. Come see why Save Our Strays has adopted out over 1000 cats in 4.5 years. We use some of our profits to TNR (trap, neuter, release) countless strays that are too unsocial for a home but desperately need altered. By spay and neutering them, they can live a healthier life & we help decrease the number of outside domestic cats. Adopting from Save Our Strays helps to support that. A little about me and SOS. I rescue and live with the cats, so I am very familiar with them and their background. I have some amazing women that volunteer here and one main volunteer Ms Chris. They help to make this drastic change in the cat’s life possible. We do all that we can here for the cats. Often, we are complimented on how clean everything is. We use stainless steel litter pans and bowls, that are disinfected daily. We feed Purina Pro Plan (kitten)and a canned breakfast with a probiotic. If you have done the long cat application and then no one gets back to you, or the cats already adopted by the time they do, then yinz should check us out. We have same day adoptions. I do not have a long application process. I ask that you are allowed to have a cat where you live and are financially able to afford their care. I ask that you not declaw that cat and if they get sick take them to the doctor. Give the cat time to slowly adjust, one last time to their new environment, so it’s a pleasant experience for all.-

Feed them a Churu or two, they love company. CHAMP in a real CHAMP, at 6/7 years old-he lived IDK how long with 47 cats and four adults in a single-wide trailer. Two of the adults worked-but mentally unwell. But still this dude is like BYEEEEEE. He likes being away from that, clean and flea free (instead of care free lol). He is good with the other cats and is inquisitive on what is going on. He is a volunteer favorite. Very outgoing but new to being out of that environment and here. CHAMP would LOVE to find a family or person to love him. He has cute ear wisps and a white spot on his chest. Story
Meet Jethro. We're fairly certain that if you looked up "majestic in the dictionary, you'd find a photo of this handsome man. Buckle up, because his story is both long and unbelievable. In August of 2022, we received a call from Animal Control about a tomcat in Central Oakland who had been hit by a car and lost mobility in his back legs. We got him to the vet where we discovered he had a fractured hip that had already healed. He managed to survive and find food through insurmountable pain long enough for his pelvis to fully heal, displaced. At the time he was incredibly feral, so he had a few months to regain mobility and was released back to his home in Oakland. Fast forward to March 2023 when we were alerted to a hoarding situation in South Oakland after the homeowner was evicted. Unbeknownst to us one of the 11 cats we rescued from the deplorable home was none other than Jethro! This time around he was somewhat friendly and after all he'd been through, we knew he deserved the chance to be rescued for good. Now, a year later he is finally ready to find his forever home! At his most recent vet checkup, we learned that Jethro is partially blind. It appears that from a far distance, he can track some objects. However, at a close distance, he seems to not be able to see at all. This explains why he took so long to trust humans and why he can be a bit wary at first, even with folks he knows. Upon approach, he will hiss, but as soon as you make contact and start giving him love, he'll flop to the ground for immediate belly rubs. He's a shy but insanely sweet boy looking for a calm, quiet home with an understanding owner. Jethro adores other cats and finds most of his confidence in others, so he must go to a home with other cats! Jethro is about 5 years old, neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative.

Story
This is my cat Opal. I adopted her when she was just 6 weeks old (so about three and a half years ago) and for the last two and a half years she has had a mixture of medical and behavioral issues that result in her urinating out of the litter box. Its gotten so bad that I have unfortunately decided to rehome her. It breaks my heart but I just can't mentally or financially handle it anymore. I am willing to assist in any way I can to find her a new home, I can supply her medicated food and anxiety medication during an adjustment period, and can set up the new owner with her medical records and current vet she sees. I'm not going to lie she's going to need a very patient new owner who is willing to work with her anxiety and peeing issues. Besides these issues she's an amazing and beautiful little cat! She is shy but warms up once she bonds with a person, and she loves making biscuits on soft blankets. She has a gentle personality and is cautiously curious. She's a little princess :)
