Story
Elegant, cuddly, sweet gentleman kitty SYLVESTER is all you need in a lap cat. He loves to play with his catnip stuffie and bat his rolly-ball around, but his most favorite thing is to snuggle up with his favorite person and sleep on their hip or belly each night. This gorgeous, fluffy, black-and-white stunner is a gentle, quiet soul who prefers a peaceful home and a set routine where he can relax and mellow out with his human friends.  Sylvester came into our rescue when the last member of his original adopting family died; he had lived with them more than 11 years. He prefers to be an only cat, but can be okay with other cats who will let him be the boss. He does not like dogs, and has not been around young children. SYLVESTER has some medical struggles which will require prescription food, daily medication (which he takes easily), on-going monitoring, and follow-up veterinary care. Our veterinary team has determined that he has a mild heart murmur and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) which will need on-going management. With proper diet, attention and medication, this lovely special-needs kitty will return your care and devotion many times over. SYLVESTER has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet Sylvester in foster care, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at Petsmart. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 business days for a possible meet and greet. The $70 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. For more information, send an email to AdoptInfo@CatRescues.org or call 541-225-4955 option 1. ID# 2303-C0075 DOB:  11/13/2011 PREFERS TO BE THE ONLY CAT (SEE TEXT) DOES NOT LIKE DOGS UNKNOWN ABOUT CHILDRENNovember 5, 2024, 2:34 pm

Story
MISS CINNAMON is a gorgeous, regal, fluffy black and gray tabby tuxedo, who will grace you with her affection after she has had time to adjust, while JACK is an outgoing black and white tuxedo, master-of-ceremonies adult kitty who loves attention. They are a funny bonded pair, with dissimilar personalities, who bring out the best in each other. Jack is outgoing and gregarious, is curious about his surroundings, and loves to watch "Kitty TV" out the window. Miss Cinnamon loves high places—the tops of your kitchen cabinets or bookshelves—and she likes to play hide and seek under the sofa. Miss Cinnamon will honor you with her affection once she feels comfortable with you. They both love to climb and explore (they will need a cat tree), and play with wand toys and the turboscratcher. They were adopted together as kittens, and returned when their owner could no longer care for them.  It took them several weeks to acclimate to their foster home, and they are still afraid of loud noises and people who move fast (like young kids).  Whoever adopts these two needs to have the patience and forethought to work with them steadily, gently, and consistently, to get them over that hump of getting used to a new home. Once they are settled, they are incredibly sweet together. They have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, are negative for FeLV and FIV, and include a free wellness visit with our vet partners.  To meet Jack and Miss Cinnamon in foster care, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at Petsmart. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 business days for a possible meet and greet.   The adoption fee for the bonded pair is $170, which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community.  For more information, send an email to AdoptInfo@CatRescues.org or call 541-225-4955 option 1.  Jack ID# 1905-C0275R; Miss Cinnamon ID# 1810-C0441R DOB:  Jack 4/3/19;  Miss Cinnamon 6/29/18 MISS CINNAMON AND JACK MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER UNKNOWN ABOUT OTHER CATS AFRAID OF DOGS BEST WITH QUIET OLDER KIDS OR ADULTSNovember 5, 2024, 2:34 pm

Story
WETZEL is a long-haired golden tabby adult male with a very fluffy, expressive tail. He loves to be around people, and will lean against you while you are reading, crafting, chatting with friends, or even watching TV. He also enjoys long naps on a variety of beds. He loves his tall cat tower where he can watch the outside world go by. He is known to get the zoomies and run all over the place, then in a mere minute, he finds the perfect spot for a nap and is out cold. He is the perfect mix of playful and couch potato. He can spend hours chasing feathers, mice, banana toys, and strings around the room as long as someone is playing with him. He will remind his humans when it is time for a feeding, and if you ignore him, he will gently pat the side of your head. Wetzel can be shy with strangers, but he warms up quickly to anyone who appreciates him for the amazing cat that he is. He loves treats, getting gentle pets, and would enjoy a calm home – likely best as an only cat. Wetzel is smart and independent, and is perfect for a family that wants to adore a cat who will adore them right back. WETZEL is a special needs kitty who came to us with an auto-immune condition called Pillow Foot (swelling of his foot pads).  This is treated with an immune suppressing medication (cyclosporine).  He is currently in remission, but will need to be monitored for his lifetime; it may recur during periods of stress, and he requires a short course of the medication.  His adopter should also be experienced with long-haired cats, as he will require weekly hairball medication and brushing with a Furminator (which we will supply). He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet WETZEL in foster care, please submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at Petsmart. Story
Super sweet and silly MORTICIA (“Morty” for short) is a fun-loving and affectionate all-black female adult cat with soft, silky fur and black whiskers. Morticia might take a little time to warm up to new situations and people, but with gentle encouragement and pets, her confidence soars, and she’s eager for human attention and affection. Her foster mom is convinced Morticia must be part dolphin with the way she is always "swimming" around, looking for love and jumping to get people to pet her. Morticia likes to hide under a chair and watch as people enter her space but comes running out with excitement the moment she realizes all is well and she is among friends. Morticia was brought to our cat rescue when her owner passed away and the family was unable to care for her. With her loving nature, Morticia is sure to be a wonderful addition to your family. MORTICIA has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, has had a complete dental with extractions, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet Morticia in foster, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 business days for a possible meet and greet. Story
I`m available for adoption! You can read about my condition and needs below. I have ringworm (feline dermatophytosis), a very common, treatable skin infection. Despite the name, it is a fungal infection having nothing to do with worms. I might have an itchy rash on my skin that will look like a circle on the infected area. I am undergoing treatment at the shelter but hoping to find my forever family now to continue healing in my new home! I think my recovery would be a lot quicker and more comfortable in a home. My adoption price is discounted and you will receive supplies and resources needed to get started. Learn more about ringworm and treatment at https://www.green-hill.org/ringworm-in-cats-treatment/Kittens need more attention and socialization during their first 6 months of life and adopters should plan to provide this type of care. We recommend adopting 2 kittens at a time to help with socialization! My adoption fee includes being spayed/neutered, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more! Give us a call if you`d like to talk with a staff member more about adopting a kitten with ringworm!
