Gavin is truly one of the sweetest souls you’ll ever meet. He’s the perfect companion for someone who works from home or simply wants a calm, comforting presence nearby—without the nonstop energy and demands of a kitten. Gavin is more of a solo act. He would do best as the only pet, or in a home with a very laid-back, independent cat who will happily coexist without needing interaction. Busy, high-energy homes or loud environments can be overwhelming for him, so he’s looking for a peaceful space where he can relax and feel secure. He is strictly an indoor-only kitty.  Gavin lives in Oregon City with his owner and his rehoming fee is $50   This cat is offered for adoption due to the owner's personal circumstances. For more information on meeting and adopting this kitty, please fill out a pre-adoption application under "ADOPT" on our website at WWW.CATSCRADLERESCUE.COM. Your information will be forwarded to the owner for follow-ups and meeting arrangement.  Cat's Cradle is an all-volunteer, non-profit foster-home based rescue serving Oregon cats who need new homes. 100% of your adoption fee goes to provide for the medical and physical needs of the cats in our care. We invite you to become a foster parent and experience the great satisfaction of helping a cat or kitten in need.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 18, 2026, 7:56 pm

Story
We welcomed Elessar into our home in 2019, and he quickly showed us just how special indoor cats can be. Hand-raised from a young age, he’s always been a little… different—in the best way. He often feels more like an awkward, endearing little kid than a cat, and his quirky personality keeps us smiling every day. Elessar is a reserved 7 year old adult male goof who enjoys being near his people while still maintaining an air of independence. He’ll quietly “chat” with you throughout the day and likes to keep you company on his own terms. But come bedtime, all that aloofness disappears—he becomes a dedicated cuddle companion, often curling up near your head to keep you warm through the night. Playtime is one of his favorite things, especially anything involving a laser pointer—he was made for it! Once he trusts you, he shows off some classic ragdoll-like traits. While he doesn’t seek out being held for long, he tolerates it well and is very cooperative with gentle handling for grooming and care (like nail trims or the occasional cleanup). One of Elessar’s greatest joys is supervised outdoor time. In a safely enclosed space, he loves to explore, sniff, and take in the world. A home with a secure yard or a catio would be an absolute dream for him. Elessar would do best in a calm, understanding home. He could thrive with older, cat-savvy children who know how to respect his space and independence. However, a home with young children would likely be too stressful for him over time. He is up to date on his long-term vaccinations. Since he has been strictly indoor-only, his annual boosters are currently overdue, but he has otherwise been well cared for.  Elessar is indoor only and lives in Salem with his owner.  His rehoming fee is $100.   This cat is offered for adoption due to the owner's personal circumstances. For more information on meeting and adopting this kitty, please fill out a pre-adoption application under "ADOPT" on our website at WWW.CATSCRADLERESCUE.COM. Story
Hello, I am a special little girl looking for a special person to give me a safe place to call home. I am sight impaired and have neuro tendencies. I have been this way since I was born. I am very silly so watching me play will make you laugh. I walk almost like I am ice skating but I get where I am going. My whole world is on the floor since I can easily fall off of things. I get scared easily by new noises and smells. I do well with the litter box and the people who care for me have decided I am much cleaner when I am using a pellet litter and a box that allows the pee to drain to a potty pad. They can explain more about that. I do best eating out of a raised bowl with a higher back since I tend to push my food out of the bowl when I eat. They will send my bowl with me when I am adopted. I like to play with blankets and my own paws more than toys but I am figuring out some toys recently. Since I have a fluffier coat I do need help with keeping my butt fur trimmed so I stay cleaner after using the litter box. I get upset when poop gets stuck in my fur. I am learning to like being held as long as my legs can dangle. people tried to hold me on my back like a baby because my sister loves being held that way but it scares me. Kids: older or adult only due to tendency to bite when playing. Cats: other cats that don`t interact with her as much would be okay but she gets scared by other cats moving around and touching her. Preferably she would like to be a single pet in the home.Dogs: scary, too much movement and noise.Housing: No stairs, or confined area that is safe for her. Carpet or rugs would help her move around easier. Small area is likely best for her so she knows where everything is. Medical: Cataracts, neuro (similar to cerebellar hypoplasia), odd limb movements and uncoordinated walking

Story
Noche and his brother Naranja turned up in my backyard as kittens 5 years ago. They lived with me for 2 years before I started moving a lot for work and then with my brother for 3 years. He is unfortunately unable to house them any longer which is why they are in need of a new home. Noche is a big old fluff ball who loves to cuddle and be a lap cat. He especially likes belly rubs and lazy Sundays on the couch. He's the extrovert of the duo, much more likely to be roaming around meeting new people. He is also happy to play, he loves hunting lasers and feather toys. He also enjoys cuddling with his brother Naranja and wrestling throughout the house. I would like to keep them together, if interested let me know if you are having trouble finding Naranjas info.

Story
Beatrix was found as a stray kitten in 2019, so is assumed to be 5/6 years old. She is a very gentle, petite little girl at only 8 lbs. She is very easy-going, preferring to snuggle or sunbathe most of the day. She has never been aggressive towards people or animals, but she does seem to have anxiety about being around too many other pets. She currently lives in a house of 4 cats, which has caused over-grooming and marking (pee) behaviors. She also lost her best friend, Ed the rabbit, which has caused further anxiety. Although she is a VERY sweet girl, I feel guilty keeping her in an environment that causes her so much stress. Besides the stress behavior, she has never been aggressive or destructive. I do believe the ideal fit would be as an only cat, with access to the outdoors as a bonus.

Story
Lucky was found on a farm when she was no more than a couple months old. Her leg was tangled in a wire. My niece crawled under a house and cut the wire. Unfortunately, her leg was twisted up so much that it had to be amputated. We called her Lucky since she was lucky to be alive. Another day and she would have died from exposure. Since that day she has always been a little skittish and cautious of new people but once she gets to know you, she opens up and will love you. We are moving and cannot take her with us. We are looking for a new home that will love her just as we have. She will need a decent amount of space to roam inside. She will spend much of the day hiding but when she wants your attention, she will let you know.
