Story
Name, age: Papaye, 11yrLikes: Delectables Squeeze Up Treats, eating treats from forks (so funny!), giving slow blinks to his humans, quietly sitting near his humans while they’re relaxing or doing work, watching the birds in the windowDislikes: Unfamiliar adults getting too close before showing him they’re safe, wand toys (at this moment), being put in his carrier, being touched when he is unwilling, and being pet from above. What would be the ideal home? A quiet and calm home that will respect his boundaries, with many places where he can rest and watch his people.Good with other cats? Yes - gets along well with kittens. Would do well in a home with an outgoing cat. He loves playing and napping with them, and he’s much more confident when there are other outgoing kitties around! He hasn’t had any aggression, hissing, or angry swatting. He’s really a great, patient, and sweet guy who loves his current brothers!Good with dogs? UnknownGood with children? Most likely not.Personality: Papaye is a well-behaved and independent cat who loves observing the humans around whom he feels safe. Treats, patience, and respect for his boundaries are the way to get to his heart! He loves to show you that he loves you by giving you slow blinks (if you slowly blink back to him, he will keep slowly blinking at you for hours as long as you keep on going!), stretching towards his humans, making silly noises and talking to you, and showing you with his body language that he feels comfortable and safe! How long will it take to settle into a new environment? Papaye may need around eight weeks to start to feel comfortable.Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? Papaye can be anxious from time to time; however once you gain his trust, he will show you that he loves you, and it will be so rewarding! If you think Papaye is the one for you - fill out an application today!

Story
Name, age: Susan, 4 years Likes: Singing, cuddles, catnip toys, treat tubes, making biscuitsDislikes: Sudden noises, having her back feet touched, being ignoredWhat would be the ideal home? Somewhere quiet and calm for this skittish girlGood with other cats? UnknownGood with dogs? UnknownGood with children? UnknownPersonality: Susan is a very sweet girl. She is super laid back and happy to keep herself occupied, but is also always down for a cuddle sesh and loves to lay on a lap when one is available. Bonus: In the kitchen, she makes an excellent sous-chef who keeps a respectable distance while offering constant and loud feedback, no matter what you`re making. How long will it take to settle into a new environment? I kept Susan to one bedroom for the first few days and then let her explore the house at her own pace. It`s a pretty small house but it took about a week before she reached the living room and another few days before she was brave enough to get up on the couches. It took another week or so before I saw her playing with her toys for the first time. She`s still a little nervous sometimes but I would say overall about 2-3 weeks before she really starts to open up.Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? She`s a gummy gal! She will rub her mouth on almost anything and enjoys a little chin/jaw massage every so often to relieve the itchiness. Sometimes after a messy meal, she needs her chin wiped with a tissue.According to my roommates, she is developing some separation anxiety and crying a lot when I leave the house. If you think Susan is the one for you - fill out an application today!
