RANDY - DLH, male, neutered, grey, DOB Apr 9/13 Randy is a very sensitive boy that will need a quiet home with someone who is patient and kind. He is settling into his foster home well and now purrs and enjoys being petted. He's not used to the love and attention. He is ok with other cats and may do well with a confident cat in the home. He recently had a dental done so his teeth are good but it was discovered he has a mild thyroid condition. He is required to take an oral medication morning and night and he's a champ about it. It's a fairly inexpensive medication. Are you that special person who will give Randy a wonderful home and all the love he deserves? March 10, 2025, 9:44 am

Story
Meet Leo! This big fluffball is a happy, independent cat. He is about 6.5 yeaars old. Leo is friendly and likes to be pet. His favorite spots are under his chin and his tummy. He loves to sit with his foster parents for attention and when he is done, off he goes for a nap. Leo will allow being picked up but only for short periods. He likes to play with a lazer pointer, and will stalk and pounce toys or small things like cotton balls. Leo loves to talk when he sees you. He also loves temptations and catit creamy treats. Leo would do best as the only cat in a calmer home. Older more respectful children would be okay. Leo does not like the dog in his foster home and is not proven with other cats. As a long haired cat, he will need regular brushing and likely grooming once or twice a year. This handsome boy has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has had his teeth cleaned and 6 teeth removed. Leo has had a hard life. He was rescued from a motel where monthly renters were feeding him. Leo does have a grade 3 heart murmur and is FIV positive (FELV negative). He is not taking anything for the heart murmur and FIV does not require any treatment. Leo will require an annual vet visit to check on his heart and we have included information on FIV below. If you have room in your heart & your home for this very handsome fluffball, contact us here, email heartstohomesfelines@gmail.com or fill out an application at heartstohomes.ca. FIV is a feline only virus that cannot be transmitted to people or other animal species. FIV is passed between cats through a deep bite wound – deep enough to inject saliva into the bloodstream of the other cat – commonly occurring in outdoor cats who fight for territory. FIV is not passed between cats through casual contact like sharing food bowls or litter boxes or through playing, wrestling or licking/cleaning each other. Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine conducted a long-term study in cat shelters and found that FIV-positive cats can live with FIV-negative cats and not infect the FIV-negative cats during normal day-to-day interaction. Studies over the last 10 years have also shown that cats with FIV often live as long as otherwise healthy cats that do not have this virus. Knox came to Abbey Cats from a shelter in North Bay. He is a gorgeous long haired grey tabby who enjoys playtime with his sister and children. Dangle a yoyo in front of him and watch him go! He is currently staying in a foster home with 2 adults and 2 children and is very friendly with everyone. Very approachable, and loves his belly! Knox would do great in almost any home and gets along well with adults and kids alike. This cat needs to be adopted with sis sister Rayah Date of birth: Jul 01, 2024

Story
Captain & Tennille are the most perfect kittens ever, says foster mom! Not only are they adorable, their personalities are incredible. They are cuddly, social, confident and outgoing. They love to cuddle, snuggle, give kisses or love bites, play with your hair and curl up on your chest. They are very playful and so enjoyable to watch as they chase balls, springs, straws, pipe cleaners or anything that slides across the hardwood floors. Captain & Tennille are very bonded. They play together, chase the same pompom, eat from the same bowl and always curl up together to sleep, usually on foster mom’s lap or chest. Captain has the softest fur you have ever felt – like satin! He also loves to suckle on blankets - so make sure you have a nice fuzzy one for him. Tennille, while her fur is much shorter, it’s also like satin. They are always so well kept as they groom themselves and each other constantly. They LOVE their food and will chirp, meow & paw at you to let you know their bowls are empty. They will follow you anywhere as long as you have a bowl of their favourite food. Captain & Tennille had a horrible start before they came to the rescue. Both were surrendered barely able to walk or stand. It took time and patience for them to gain strength and be able to get around well. Captain had a broken pelvis & tibia, while Tennille had her spine broken in two places. It’s truly a miracle that they have fully recovered and their previous injuries don’t slow them down at all. And it hasn’t made them mistrustful or wary of humans at all. They LOVE all people! Captain & Tennille MUST be adopted together. They are good with other cats, dogs and kids over 8 yrs. old. As we often receive numerous applications for each cat or kitten, we will only contact applicants who best suit the needs of the cat or kitten. Finding the best home for our cat or kitten is our top priority. Applications are not first come, first served.

Story
Meet Mrs. Puff! Were you drawn to her because of her beautiful profile photo? She is stunning! Mrs. Puff is a resilient 6-year-old cat with a heart full of potential. Mrs. Puff is learning to enjoy the luxuries of living in a warm and loving home – where food can be demanded with a loud meow, cheek and chin scratches will begin with head bonks, and someone around to keep company when there is a good book to read. Mrs. Puff loves to be close to her people and has a purr that doesn’t stop when you sit with her. She makes biscuits and rolls around for the world to see her belly. Her favourite activities include lounging in cozy spots for long naps and gazing out the window, watching the world go by. When feeling playful, she loves chasing her toys, especially from her tunnel and will play with toys from it. Mrs. Puff will need some special love and care for her long and fluffy coat. She's not a fan of being brushed, but it's necessary to keep her long hair looking its best. While she loves affection and attention, Mrs. Puff is still learning to let her guard down. When she feels a bit overwhelmed, she may give a gentle swipe to let you know she needs some space to reset. This is just her way of protecting herself as she continues to build trust in her new environment. She would thrive in a calm, quiet home with adults only and no other pets. Mrs. Puff is not meant to live outdoors, but she ended up on the streets when her family chose to get a dog. Rescued from a frightening life outside, she needed dedicated foster care and patience to earn her trust. Thankfully, she was brought indoors just in time for winter! Mrs. Puff requires a family that understands the importance of trust and building relationships, as this process may take time. However, the effort is truly worthwhile! If you're in search of a companion with a big heart and a unique personality, Mrs. Puff could be the perfect match for you.
