Story
We are not sure how old Buddy is. He was abandoned when his owners moved. He is super sweet and loves belly rubs. He is very gentle and cuddly. He loves attention and he is very affectionate. We believe he is currently not fixed, however, we are willing to help get him fixed. He does not know his name, so if adopted you could rename him if you wish…he is currently living outdoors and needs a good, loving family who will spoil him as he deserves. He has beautiful black and white coat and personality to match. I will be posting more pictures so check back for those…

Story
Aries is a handsome 7-year old male kitty who was surrendered by his owner on August 2, 2024 because she was unable to take care of him. This debonair gentleman has a dark brown tabby long-haired coat, a long fluffy tail, and a regal-looking face with golden eyes, extra-large ears with nice 'ear furnishings', a brown velvet nose, a white beard on his chin, and beautiful long white whiskers. Aries was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on August 2, 2024. He weighed 9.2 lbs that day. His owner told us that Aries was good with other animals (but didn't specify whether that included dogs as well as cats) .. And he is good with children. Aries was calm, chill, and very distinguished-looking when we stopped by to take his photos on August 13, 2024. Aries had been moved to The Jungle Room (one of our cat adoption rooms) where he was taking a leisurely afternoon nap, and he was quite charming though he obviously was anxious to get back to his nap (smile). Aries has already been neutered, so he could leave our shelter with his new family rather quickly with an approved HSOV adoption application. Aries is also available for rescue. Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation. Update: Aries is currently in foster care but is still available for adoption. If you are interested in adopting Aries, please complete an HSOV adoption application and we will arrange a meet-and-greet with his foster family.

Story
Peaches is a beautiful 12-year old female kitty who was surrendered by her family on July 7, 2024 because of landlord/housing issues. Peaches has an orange-and-white longhaired coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with copper-colored eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers. Her coat was very matted/pelted when she entered our shelter since her previous owner reported that Peaches does not like to be groomed. Our kennel techs and a local groomer have done preliminary grooming but Peaches will likely need to be sedated and groomed/shaved down by a veterinarian to make her more comfortable. Peaches is selective about whom she likes, and we get that 'age has its privileges). Peaches would not be good with children. Her family indicated, however, that she was good with other animals and had lived with dogs as well as cats. Peaches is afraid of vacuum cleaners and strangers, and she hides in order to escape her fears. Peaches has been kept exclusively indoors, so that would be a requirement for her new home as well. Peaches is a big girl who weighs approximately 13-14 lbs. She has already been spayed and is front-paw declawed. Her owner summarized Peaches in this way: "Peaches is her own boss and is a one-person cat. She accepts attention/affection on her terms and only when she gets used to you. Peaches really amuses herself and isn't into favorite toys or other activities. She prefers to take long leisurely cat naps instead of being engaged in playing." UPDATE: Peaches went home with a foster family on September 16, 2024 who offered her the freedom of a temporary home until she finds a forever home. Peaches is still available for adoption with an approved HSOV adoption application.

Story
Bunny is a beautiful one-year old female Tuxedo kitty who was brought to the HSOV on October 12, 2024 along with her best friend (Kitty) who is most likely her sister. These girls were found fending for themselves in the Veto Lake area of Washington County Ohio. This young lady has a black long-haired smooth coat with a triangular patch of white on her chest, a long fluffy tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a cute black 'goatee', a black velvet nose, and long white whiskers. Bunny was given vaccinations and Pyrantel wormer on October 12, 2024. She weighed 7.4 lbs that day. Bunny was given booster vaccines on October 26, 2024. These photos of Bunny were taken on October 12th shortly after her arrival. She has a friendly, rather demure. personality. Bunny was understandably a little apprehensive about finding herself in an unfamiliar place, so she chose to have her glamour photos taken where she felt most comfortable (in the floor crate she was sharing with Kitty). Bunny and her bestie (Kitty) are very bonded with each other, and they depend upon each other for comfort and a sense of security. They have been kept together and are always snuggled up as close to each other as possible. We feel that it is in their best interest to be adopted as a bonded pair. Bunny and Kitty will be spayed before being adopted by their new family. Update: It appears that (sigh) there is a possibility that Bunny and Kitty are both pregnant, so they have been moved into a more quiet area of shelter (together, of course) where our HSOV Kennel Techs can keep a close watch on them. Bunny and Kitty are available for rescue only at the present time. Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi, my name is Morgan! I came to OBARR a few years ago with my six babies. They have all found homes, but I'm still here waiting for mine. I am a very sweet social cat with people. I'm not cat or dog friendly, so I would prefer to be the only cat in the home. We tried me in a home with another cat, and I didn't adjust well and came back to find my perfect home. I have been spayed, combo tested (all negative), vaccinated, and my preventives are up to date. If you are looking for a sweet lap kitty, please visit olivebranchwv.org to fill out the adoption application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 1:53 pm
