Story
Sam is a beautiful Maine Coon mix with a slightly red tinted black coat, long tufts on paws, bushy tail and ruff to keep his neck warm. He was begging in my neighborhood, so I started feeding him and after a day or two he would walk right up and beg from my kitchen door. Attempts to find his home went unanswered. This extrovert is not shy of anything or anyone. He is a door greeter and loves to meet you at the door and knows no strangers. However, he is on a daily medication. He prefers a male owner and is less a fan of chilling with women. Sam enjoys being gently petted, never aggressively, when he approaches you. Once he has had enough his ears will begin to flatten and that is the time to stop. He likes to be softly held or picked up.Sleeping on your bed is his preference but not on top of you. Being alone in the house is no problem for Sam. Sam is a cat that loves to be admired. If you are interested in adopting Sam, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 60 miles of the Raleigh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption. Story
Introducing Chicory- the extra floofy and sweet kitten of the group. He is part of a bonded pair who must be adopted together (his bonded sister is Etouffee). He is the more shy, reserved and chill boy where she is always where the action is. Both of them love to be held - demand it. Like to be near you and snuggle like a dream. They would prefer a quiet home with no kids or older kids and only dogs who are not only cat safe but will be polite and not get in their face or bark at them. They are fearless and will not know to back away or get out of a bad situation so they need their environment to be ready for the level of sweet innocence they have. These are truly some of the sweetest and most loving kits we have ever known and we want to be sure they go where they will be appreciated for how amazing they are and spoil them thoroughly.  If you are interested in adopting Chicory and Etouffee, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 60 miles of the Raleigh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption. Story
Introducing Etoufee- sweet and silly and the bonded sibling of Chickory. They must be adopted together. She chirps, makes yum yum noises when she eats and likes to be in the mix of things. She and her brother both love to be held, snuggled and also play hard together. This amazing pair would love a quiet home with no or only older kids and only the most polite and cat safe of pups (no barking at or getting in the face of them). They are utterly sweet and innocence with no fear so they are clueless that anything could ever cause them any harm. We want to keep them just this spoiled. This pair is amazingly loving and deserve to be spoiled to the max. They are bonded and will chirp to find the other if they are not in sight of the other. They are going to be large cats and require at least weekly brushing and likely hourly snuggling. Etouffee can get watery eyes when stressed and wants a purrson who will not stress about that and will gently wipe her eye and tell her how gorgeous she is (she loves compliments). If you are ready for the best and sweetest pair of black smoke floofs and can handle the cuteness, then you may want to put in an application for this amazing pair of floofs.  If you are interested in adopting Etoufee, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 60 miles of the Raleigh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption. Story
Hey there! My name is Beamer and I want to be your pal. My foster mom says I'm a fluffy ,soft and snuggly happy go lucky little guy. Who is just so adorable...now I am not going to argue with her on that. - I mean just look at my cute ear floof!  I'm also playful and fun too. And when I'm not playing with my foster pal Marcel I like to snuggle up with my foster mom or my pal Marcel. She says I have loud purrs too! Which means I'm just a happy go lucky kinda guy too.  I'm still a kitten they say  so I like all the toys and running through the house and doing kitten things like laser pointer and soccer with springs...those are my favorite!  I'm looking for a forever home where my pal Marcel can come with me. We love to chase each other through the house and play soccer with the toys together. And when our games are over we will often clean each other before our nap time.  He's a super cool dude too. We are about a month apart in age so we will be sure to keep each other out of trouble while we keep each other busy with our kitten games.  We are ready for our new forever family. We don't mind dogs-  who are low key and we get along just fine with other cats.  So if you want two awesome fun loving adorable teenage kittens to add to your family...look no further. We are quite cute together and will be sure to bring you joy each day.  If you are interested in adopting Beamer, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 60 miles of the Raleigh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cinnamon DOB:  September 2020 (est) Spayed Female        Long Hair        Buff          Oh, hello! I’m a very special girl called Cinnamon. As an orange tabby, I can be a very sweet kitty, but, as my name implies, I can be a bit spicy sometimes. As long as everyone understands that I’m the Queen, you’ll only see my sugar side. Even with my occasionally sassy attitude, I’m good with children (age 6 and older), very selective other kitties, and dogs (as long as they know who’s boss). And while it would be nice to have a minion to boss around, I would be okay as an only house critter. Would you like a sweetly spicy Cinnamon girl to warm your heart? Contact Best Friend Pet Adoption (adoption@bfpa.org) and tell them you want to adopt me! Dogs:  Must have kitty manners Other cats:  Very selective, better as only cat Kids:  Over 6 with kitty experience  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 23, 2024, 9:30 am

My adorable ear tufts got you, didn’t they? Well, let me tell you more about me so you can see how irresistible I am! I’m a very sweet little lady, just a few months old. Though I am smaller than my sister Amy, I am braver, and I am the first to explore a new environment. I also love to sit on the windowsill and watch birds when I’m not playing with my sister. I’m getting used to being around dogs but I would love to have a kitty friend to hang out with in my forever home. I may seem a little shy at first, but with my bold spirit and sweet nature, I warm up pretty fast and will be the best little friend you could ever wish for! Story
Meet June, a beautiful girl with smoky, gray fur along her belly and a distinctive tail and a heart full of love. Her demeanor is a blend of sweetness and shyness, making her a perfect companion for those seeking a gentle friend. June's intelligence is unmistakable; she's quick to figure out puzzles and loves to explore. Her curiosity is endless, always eager to learn about her surroundings. Among her favorite activities is stretching out and enjoying TV time with her human. She is a curious girl who likes windows, sun and watching the world go by. June's tail, striped like a raccoon's, is a charming part of her unique personality. While she may be shy initially, once she warms up to you, her affectionate side shines through. June is looking for a forever home where she can continue to grow, learn, and love. She would do well as a solo adoption or with one of her siblings (see Johnny, Loretta & Dolly). Her adoption would mean a lifetime of shared adventures, cuddles, and mutual respect. If you're looking for a loyal, intelligent, and loving companion, June is the cat for you.

French Onion is an affectionate and fun little ball of fluff. She loves to run and wrestle and play, but she also loves to soak up attention and pets from her humans. She often makes little silent meows when looking for attention, and as little as a look from one of her humans gets her booming purr going. French Onion is a sweet and easy going kitten that would make a great addition to most homes. She'd love to be adopted with her sister, Chicken Noodle, or to a home with another friendly young cat she could play with.

Story
This pet was brought in as a stray and will NOT be available for adoption through our program. All stray animals brought in are posted on the gallery to hopefully be reunited with their families. Each pet is evaluated upon arrival, and throughout their stay, at the Animal Center and we do our best to place the animal in the setting most appropriate for them. Sometimes, they may be better served through one of our Transfer Partners due to the intervention needed, ongoing care required or a quieter setting for that individual. We want our animals to put their best paw forward. If you are a 501c3 rescue and are interested in partnering with WCAC to help this pet, and others, you can find more information on how to help at: https://www.wakegov.com/departments-government/animal-services/community-partners/transfer-program If this is your pet, please contact us immediately at AnimalCenter@wake.gov Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 1.43 Age: 0yrs 0mths 7wks

Story
Do you want to be admired but not have people be all handsy/huggy with you? Me too!!! I am a gorgeous boy who has had a bit of a rough life and that has led me to be suspicious of some people (especially men). I have tried meditating but found that setting boundaries (3 pets on the head and not 4; snuggles only when authorized) is the best way to go. My person who gave me all the love in all the right doses passed away and now I am looking for that purrfect person who understands that I just like company and to be near you and like to be the one making the first move for attention. I am gorgeous, fluffy, entertaining and low energy. I am an easy boy to have around. I do have allergies to dust and such and as such may sneeze some artsy designs upon occasion but it doesn't slow me down and I don't mind if you don't. I was overlooked by people before my last mom because I am FIV+. What does that mean? Not a lot. It is mostly a label. People say that if I get sick I should go to the vet but that is pretty much what you would do with any cat. So if you care about what it means then you can find out more at https://fivcats.com/. I live with other cats and do fine. I just like a nice window, soft bed and person to snuggle next to. And I love my picture taken. If my handsome face makes you smile, then consider letting me make you smile every day and make me part of your family.  If you are interested in adopting Humphrey, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 60-75 miles of the Raligh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption. Story
This handsome boy is extremely large and likes to be spoiled and have his own way. He wants a quiet home with no dogs, kids and if there are any other cats, they need a slow intro with him. This poor boy lost his person and spent an extended time in boarding. He has been through a lot. He was used to a very quiet home and needs a home like that again. His current foster has other cats and they have slowly been introduced but with letting this boy have his own space as well. He is very vocal and very specific about what he likes. He can be a sweet lover boy but must must must have a person willing to take things slowly with him and give him space to come out and feel comfortable. He has had a rough year of life and now deserves all that he wants.  If you are interested in adopting Mars, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 60 miles of the Raleigh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption. Story
This sweet boy just wants a quiet place and lap time. He is the sweetest of sweet cats with his human and he is so very deserving. He has dealt with losing his home 3 times (through zero fault of his own), so this time it will require the best of best of homes and a person dedicated to spoiling him. Although he may tolerate another cat in the home, he is not going to be a pal or want them near him. He is not a fan of other animals or noise - likely due to the trauma he dealt with when he was dumped outside (where he is way too big of a baby to be).  Inside he is quiet, mellow and unassuming. He will slowly melt into your lap before you even realize he is there. He is cautious in new environments but once he finally feels safe, he will be your constant companion. He is a big guy - over 14 pounds - and fluffy. He will tolerate brushing but will need some substantial cat trees/scratchers as he is not a fan of nail trims.Clearly he has not had a charmed life of mani pedis early on that made him feel comfortable with them and that is fair.  This sweet guy has had way too much bad happen to him to have one more single negative thing happen. He is amazing, sweet, gentle and gorgeous.Habits that he has that you must learn to love - he clearly was an only kitten and did not learn gentle play. If you overstimilate him he will take his massive paws and grab you and maybe nibble. The paws alone are pretty strong and even trimmed, those nails are impressive. And nail trimming. He is not a fan. We do it using two people and can show you how we safetly do it. It is doable if you are willing. This boy isn't always easy but he is a love and gorgeous and the best boy.  If you are ready to ensure this handsome older gent gets all he needs to be happy, then reach out and complete an application. We will make sure that he gets the perfect environment for his needs as he has been through way more than any cat deserves to and now is his time to be happy, spoiled, safe and have a forever home that truly is forever.  If you are interested in adopting Brutus, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 60 miles of the Raleigh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption.
