Story
VIP CATS PROGRAM(Very Introverted Personalities)Some of our longest shelter residents are shy cats. Once given the benefit of time to get to know you, they make friends. Most love and enjoy pets and spending time with their special humans, but prefer not to be picked up and held. All have outstanding personalities!!! Some prefer and have a special feline friend they snuggle with and cannot live without.Adoption fees for VIP CATS are only $35 (standard adoption policies apply).Interested adopter's should email info@fingerlakesspca.org or message our Facebook page for more info., to confirm the continued adoption availability of a particular cat and for an application (or you can stop by our shelter on 72 Cameron Street in Bath) to pick one up. Adoption visits for VIP CATS are by appointment only. VIP PROGRAM CATS are best suited to quiet cat experienced homes.

Story
Wobbles is a super sweet, fluffy, lap cat. She is a smaller cat with CH also known as 'wobbly cat syndrome'. This condition makes her constantly shake and causes her to be a little unsteady on her feet but does not hurt her in any way. Despite this she is great with other cats. She plays and runs around with them. She is good with kids and being held but has not been around dogs before.

Story
Beautiful Maisy is just sitting pretty until her new family comes along. This gorgeous 1-2-year-old girl took a couple weeks to come around from hiding in the cat walk, but now she's picked her rightful cozy spot. She likes to be pet, but doesn't outright seek your attention...yet. Maisy lived with another cat in her previous home and seems fine with the ones in her colony. She mostly keeps to herself and doesn't stir up any trouble. She didn't want to stick around when a dog visited her colony room, but she may get used to a calm one as long as they don't chase her. Maisy startles easily so a calmer environment may be best. If given the time and space to acclimate to a new home, Maisy's sweet personality is sure to shine! She's spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Apply to adopt your new best friend at www.secondchanceas.org/adopt or at the sanctuary any time we're open. PA kennel license #04944

Story
How is it that Bathsheba has been with us for ALMOST a whole year?!?!?! (We are honestly really surprised at this one because she is so sweet and beautiful!) Bathsheba is an absolutely stunning cat! Her pictures really don't do her any justice and we'll have to try and get better ones I guess... We've nicknamed her "the beautiful woman" because she is such a pretty lady! Bathsheba is now about 1 year old and, although she is a bit shy and a little skittish, she will very quickly turn on her purr for you if you give her some scratches under the chin. She is a really nice cat and just needs the right person to give her a chance! Bathsheba loves to be brushed and will allow herself to be held when she has gotten comfortable with you. She will also roll over onto her side or back pretty quickly which shows that she is actually quite friendly! She is a tad socially awkward but is very well loved by other cats and kittens! Bathsheba is a stunner with a silky-soft coat that is guaranteed to attract plenty of attention but she really needs someone who is willing to give her patience, love, and time to come out of her shell in a new, forever home! (YES, SHE WILL ABSOLUTELY BE SHY UPON MEETING HER but we know that, with the right person, she will make a very sweet and BEAUTIFUL pet!) Bathsheba needs to go to a calm home so we are not recommending a home with young children. Bathsheba will have been spayed, is up to date on vaccines, dewormed, flea treated, FIV/FeLV/HW tested negative, and microchipped! Interested adopters can submit an application by contacting HobosHome2020@yahoo.com or by sending us a message and we will send you the necessary form! ***Bathsheba has made a very close friend while in our care, Tiger Lily, another female cat that is close in age to her! It would be perfect for them to find a home together as they are a bit of a bonded pair. If you are looking for 2 cats that get along great, please consider Bathsheba and Tiger Lily! We are willing to waive their adoption fees if it helps them find a home together.***

Story
Shadow is a very unique and beautiful long haired cat! Her coat is black with a gray undercoat that is very pretty! The vet estimated her to be about 8 months old in March of 2024. She is a small cat and is not quite fully grown yet! (She will probably be fully grown by summer of 2024!) Shadow came to us after mysteriously appearing out of nowhere... she was rescued after being found outdoors where she was living under a shed. Shadow had to be trapped at first in order to be taken for TNR since she wasn't confident enough to approach or be approached by people. Once she was trapped, it was abundantly clear that she was definitely not feral (wild), just scared, because she meowed at us through the trap and really didn't seem that frightened by people! Due to her "friendly" behavior, we held onto her after she was fixed and gave her some time and patience to decompress and see if she would be adoptable. She MOST DEFINITELY IS adoptable although she is definitely still skittish and shy at this point! (She has been through a lot, after all!) Although we don't know anything more about Shadow's background, we do know that she has been around people before because she allows herself to be picked up, petted, and held with no problem! Although she is still in need of additional socialization, she is very sweet, has never shown any aggression of any kind, and has a lot of potential as an indoor house pet for the right person! Shadow needs a CALM home with someone who is willing to invest time and patience into continuing to socialize her. An adopter who has experience with skittish cats would be ideal but not necessarily required. We are not recommending a home with young children due to a calm home being in Shadow's best interest. Shadow is great with other cats and kittens so a home that has another feline companion, preferably a confident or outgoing one, would be ideal for her and may help her feel at home! Shadow has not yet been dog tested but we absolutely can do that if it makes a difference for you! (Just ask!) We want Shadow to go to a home that is willing to keep her regardless of how outgoing she may ever become. (Not EVERY cat is super outgoing and that's ok! They are entitled to have their own personalities!) Shadow has been spayed, is up to date on vaccines, dewormed, flea treated, FIV/FeLV/HW tested negative, and microchipped! She was eartipped at her time of spay because she was a part of a TNR program but it certainly doesn't make her any less beautiful! Interested adopters can submit an application by contacting HobosHome2020@yahoo.com or by sending us a message and we will send you the necessary form!
