Story
Storm - Male DOB 2/26/2014 Domestic Long Hair - Grey Meet Storm, a handsome stray who found his way to FuRRR, thanks to a compassionate resident who wanted to ensure he had a safe, warm place to spend his days. While it's essential to help our southern partners, supporting a local community cats like Storm is always important. At 10 years old, Storm is a confident and content boy who has transformed from his early days of uncertainty into a sweet, playful companion. Storm was found in a nearby yard by a caring person who only wanted the best result for him.  She contacted FuRRR, who had him seen right away by their vet, and was determined to have been shot and not in good health. He spent the last 10 months getting better in a foster home, and learning that it was ok to trust the woman who was fostering him to better health. This handsome guy has a few favorite pastimes, including chasing springs and nibbling on his beloved catnip bananas. He also loves sunbathing in the window, watching birds and squirrels, or catching some "cat TV" on YouTube. Storm has the loudest, most endearing purr when you pet him, especially when you give him gentle cheek scratches. Storm would love to be your one-and-only cat and would do best in a home with no children. He hasn't met any dogs yet but might be open to a calm, cat-friendly dog. His journey has shown how fulfilling it is to help a community cat; it took months for Storm to learn to trust, but now he's a loyal, loving companion ready for his forever home. Story
Olivia - Female DOB 4/13/2017 Domestic Long Hair Brown Tabby -    Meet Olivia, who is a sweet girl with big fluffy paws. Olivia's past has been challenging; she was abandoned at a horse farm, spending her days in a barn with horses and feral cats. Despite the kindness of the farm owners, who ensured she was spayed and vaccinated, Olivia's life was full of fear and uncertainty. Now, Olivia is safe and beginning to discover the joys of a secure, loving place to rest herself.  Confident and playful, Olivia will come and say hello to just about anyone.  In exchange for some well deserved praise, she will provide you with endless purrs and biscuits.  Olivia is considered to be a “special needs” kitty where she has been diagnosed with a form of arthritis in her rear ankles which is similar to people rheumatoid arthritis.  This condition is being managed with a form of pain medication, and will require her to be on it for the rest of her life to help with any arthritis pain.  But that is really a small price to pay with all the love you will receive from her in return.  Olivia is able to walk, jog, and play with relative ease, but this renders her a low-agility cat.  This condition may prevent her from jumping up on high things, such as chairs, beds and counters, but with help of pet stairs or a means to get up on beds or couches, she’s right there beside you.  She loves to watch kitty videos or perch herself in front of a window watching the critters and birds outside.    Olivia knows when it’s her feeding time and if you haven’t already set her wet food on the floor by that time, she will tell you in no certain terms that you’re late!  She loves to be picked up and be carried around, while being gentle with her hind end.  She loves to take naps on your lap and also will come up to you and plop right down beside you without pause.  Olivia loves to tell you about her day when you come home and will have full blown conversations with you.  She is very talented at meows containing multiple syllables lol.  This gentle soul is not a fan of other cats, but she thrives in calm, quiet environments and would flourish best in a home without other pets or children. She longs for a patient, understanding owner who spends plenty of time at home to help her feel secure and cherished. If you're looking for a loyal, loving friend, Olivia is ready to trust and share her sweet spirit with you. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lady, Imp and Frisky were born in a barn in mid August. Their mom disappeared when they were about 5 weeks old. Luckily they were fostered in a home with a surrogate mom and will be ready for adoption Nov 14     We really encourage kitten adopters to adopt two kittens when adopting. Cats like buddies. If introducing a younger kitten into a household with older cats the youngster may be too playful for the older cat. Having a younger buddy to wrestle and play with is ideal. We usually also have other kittens in similar age group available for adoption. Please visit our website for more pictures of this dog and info on our adoption process and application which is located on the left column under "forms & applications" :                            https://barkdogfarm.rescuegroups.org/forms Please be sure all family members are in agreement to adopting and your family is ready to bring a pet home now. Applicants must be at least 21 years old. A volunteer will be in touch to discuss your application and the kitten to determine if it is a good match. Your vet and two references will be called.  A virtual home visit done. Once approved a meet and greet at the farm will take place.  If all are in agreement and the animal has received its NH health certificate an adoption contract will be signed and adoption fee paid.  Adoption fees for kittens are $250.  $100 for adult cats.  Fees for seniors, special needs or harder to place cats will be determined by our Board of Directors. All cats will be altered when adoption is finalized, up to date on age appropriate core vaccines, negative for parasites, FIV and FeLK negative, microchipped and have a current health certificate.  Our cats are only adopted out AS INDOOR ONLY PETS!!! Please know we practice Covid-19 guidelines for mask wearing and social distancing.  Only approved applicants are allowed to meet our kittens.
