Story
CONNOR / 9 YEARS / DOMESTIC LONGHAIR CAT Connor does not have a single mean bone in his body. He loves all people (just not young children), other cats, and dogs! He likes to sleep on the bed with you and likes to cuddle on your lap if you are on the couch. He uses his litter box perfectly and allows his nails to be trimmed (he is front declawed, so it is just his back claws). He does not like being outside, so he is not one to try and run out the door. He is quiet and does not jump up on counters. Connor is looking for a new home because he was having difficulties distancing himself from the family’s toddler. Dogs: Yes! Cats: Yes! Connor is on the submissive side so makes cat friends easily but will also need to be protected from bullying behavior. Kids: Older, respectful children only. Connor was very uncomfortable with the young children in his former family, so his new home would ideally not have children under 10 years of age. Health Concerns: Connor’s former clinic diagnosed him with asthma.   &#226&#156&#168 If you'd like to adopt Connor, please fill out an adoption application here      http://www.greyfacerescue.org/cat-adoption-applicationNovember 8, 2024, 3:58 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hey there! It’s me, Melvin. Life in my cozy spare bedroom is pretty great! During the day, I lounge around, but once night falls, I turn into a little tornado, pouncing and playing with my favorite crinkly toys. One of my funniest habits? Making biscuits! I knead the air while I eat and do “air” biscuits when I’m lying on my back. It’s too cute! I absolutely adore cuddling and will happily nuzzle up for pets—my affection level is long and cozy. So, here I am, a quirky little cat enjoying my adventures. Purrs and whiskers to you! Watch a video of Melvin! Melvin is from a local shelter. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Click here to watch a video of Melvin.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 11:41 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. I just joined my foster family and we are still getting acquainted with one another. Once they learn more about me, they will add more information here! Mario is from a local shelter. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
