Story
Corriander and her sister Sage were born in a car parts factory in Taylor. They were greasy, scared and had no idea where they could go to be safe in this stamping plant. There mother and other kitties were living in there to get out of the cold, had babies inside the factory and these kittens were in bad shape. The air quality in there was so bad. We were able to get some of the cats out of their and another rescue took some. So now we just have these two sisters and they need to be adopted together. Story
Meet Jacques, the shelter`s most charming feline! He`s a senior with a youthful spirit, brimming with energy and curiosity. Jacques is a loyal companion who will keep you entertained with his funny antics and smart tricks. He`s brave, not afraid to explore new surroundings or meet new friends. Jacques is also a gentle soul, mellow and sweet. He loves a good cuddle and his fluffiness makes him the perfect snuggle buddy. He`s friendly to everyone he meets, quickly winning hearts with his endearing personality. Adopting Jacques means gaining a loyal, loving, and entertaining companion who will fill your home with joy and laughter!A foster who kindly allowed Jacques to live in her home while he was undergoing medical treatment has given us some insights into his character that adopters should know about! They are:-Jacques enjoys being brushed. This is great because he is a long haired cat, and needs to be brushed regularly.-Jacque absolutely loves wand toys. Though he is a 13 year old man, he will chase a feather or a fake mouse like he is still a kitten. The foster reported that playing with him at least once a day worked well for him. Keep in mind: Jacques is a fluffy guy with longer hair that needs to be brushed frequently to prevent any further painful matting! Jacques has also been diagnosed with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This disease is not curable, but he can still live a very long and healthy life! FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds and is unlikely to be spread through sharing of water bowls or other close contact. Friendly cats who develop stable relationships without fighting are at minimal risk of transmission, so slow introductions are highly recommended!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. Story
Duchess is a beautiful VERY loved kitty. She is very happy in her home and her relationship with her Dad. He was just diagnosed with Leukemia and it looks like he's decided to leave his recovery up to God. I am thinking that means he is not going through with treatment. He has decided the best thing for his beloved Duchess is to make sure she gets into a safe, loving home as soon as possible. He doesn't want to give her up, it's a very sad situation for them both. I promised to find her a loving home so he can be at peace knowing she's got a family before too much longer. She doesn't like dogs she likes kids though. I am looking for a non smoking home for her. She's five years old, vetted and microchipped. I will make sure her shots are up to date. For more information call or text me at 517 294 4514 or email me your phone number to marlas2468@yahoo.com

Story
Mitzi needs a friend. She's a tiny spot of a furball and so, so very sweet. She loves to snuggle with you all day long. We are not sure exactly what the story is, but we know this...... She's a two- to three-year-old fixed female not living her best life. She was a friendly kitty alone on the street. She had an ear issue that never got looked at and a hematoma developed and being on the streets she never got it cared for and it cauliflowered her ears permanently. We got her vetted and her ears are now clear but she is permanently stuck with her ears looking like they do now. She was taken in by a family who has no idea how to care for her or has the resources to do so. Her ears were in a bad way. She needs to be rehomed. She loves people, she's affectionate and now a indoor only cat. She is really needing a friend. A home where she is the only pet would be just fine with her. She was in a house with dogs and that is not working out well for her. She is a beautiful long haired kitty. She is approximately two to three years old and in need of a bestie. We are looking for a nonsmoking home. She is a polydactyl. She definitely prefers a home where someone is home often. We are anxious to see her ears go forward as soon as she gets comfortable in a new home. Call me for more information or text at 517 294 4514. or text your phone number to me at marlas2468@yahoo.com

Story
Baby is a beautiful, fluffy, Maine Coon mix. He has a brother, the brother is not as affectionate, but if you wanted a pair, the brother would get more settled into a permanent home than he would in the fosters home with kids and their other pets. They come from a bad situation when they were rescued and really were lucky to get into a foster home who works with them and gave them a chance at a better life. we are looking for a non smoking home. Indoor only home, he is used to being around a dog also. For more information call or text me at 517 294 4514. Or email me your phone number to marlas2468@yahoo.com
