Story
Twiggy Long Hair Grey Tabby Spayed Female Estimated Birthday: 10/14/2022 If only Twiggy could tell us her story… When she first came into rescue, she weighed less than 5 pounds and appeared to be an old, fragile soul. But as we took a closer look, we realized she was actually quite young — just a victim of heartbreaking neglect. Her tiny frame had been ravaged by fleas, and it was clear she had been starved for far too long. Now, Twiggy’s transformation is nothing short of miraculous. She has gained almost 3 pounds, and with it, her personality has blossomed. She is no longer the timid girl we first met; she is now a sweet and affectionate companion, always eager for pets and ready to curl up in your lap, purring contently. While she is okay with other cats, Twiggy would truly thrive in a home with just a few fur babies, where she can steal the spotlight and soak up all the love she craves. All current pets must be fixed and up-to-date on vaccines. Tiggy is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and has been treated for parasites. Her adoption fee is $125. Do you have the purrfect home for this deserving kitty? Fill out our online application to get approved for a meet and greet: http://www.tigerlilyrescue.com/adoption-application/

Story
Age: 7 Years Weight: 10lbs Good with dogs? Unknown Good with cats? Yes Good with kids? No Energy Level: Moderate Adoption Fee: $37.50 FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER! (50%OFF) Any other info: Meet Georgie. In the quiet corners of memory, where sunbeams linger and forgotten whispers echo, there exists a tale of a long-haired cat named Georgie. His journey began with the innocence of a kitten—a tiny fluffball with eyes wide as saucers, adopted into a world of promise and warmth. He was adopted from us 7 years ago as a little kitten with another kitty into a wonderful home. Unfortunately as time went on, the other cat in the home began to bully Georgie relentlessly to the point where Georgie couldn't even safely come out of his hiding place. Because of that, Georgie has been returned to us so he can have another chance at a loving home where he can be treated the way he deserves. Georgie’s first home was a cozy haven, where he chased dust motes and curled up on sun-drenched windowsills. His fur, a cascade of silk, whispered secrets of moonlit escapades and midnight prowls. His purr, a gentle hum, promised companionship to anyone who cared to listen. But life, that fickle artist, painted unexpected strokes. Through no fault of his own, Georgie found himself back at the shelter—a bewildered traveler returned to a familiar crossroads. His whiskers twitched with uncertainty; his heart, once hopeful, now carried the weight of abandonment. In the shelter, Georgie’s days blur together—a symphony of cage bars and echoing meows. He watches from the top of his condo as others come and go, their footsteps fading like distant echoes. The world outside seems both tantalizingly close and impossibly far for this boy. Georgie, with his soulful eyes, yearned for a second chance—a patient hand to guide him back into the warmth of a home. But since coming back to us, Georgie is struggling to trust. He will watch you but if you get close he will hiss and swat all because he is scared. But we know this sweet boy has a heart of gold and just doesn't understand what's going on yet. Slowly, very slowly, he is starting to like a few cheek rubs here and there and he adores tasty treats. He used to wait until everyone was gone in the middle of the night to eat them, but lately he's been eating them in front of us and even taking them from our hands if we go really slow. Georgie’s Wishlist: A Quiet Corner: Georgie dreams of a sunbeam-kissed nook, where he can watch the seasons change and pretend he’s the guardian of forgotten stories. Whispers of Kindness: He craves soft words, spoken by someone who understands that trust takes time. Georgie’s heart, like a delicate origami crane, unfolds slowly. Gentle Hands: Georgie’s fur begs for gentle strokes—the kind that unravel knots and weave new beginnings. He longs for a touch that says, “You’re safe now.” His Quirks: Window Watcher: Georgie perches on the windowsill, eyes fixed on the horizon. Perhaps he’s waiting for the one who’ll see beyond his fur and into his soul. His Secret Wish: Georgie dreams of a human who’ll understand that he’s not broken—just a little weathered. Someone who’ll offer patience, a warm lap, and whispered promises. Together, they’ll write a new chapter—one where Georgie’s whiskers twitch with contentment, and the echoes of abandonment fade into oblivion. So, dear adopter, if you’re reading this, know that Georgie waits—a gentle whiskered wanderer, seeking solace in your arms. Will you be the one to unravel his story and give him the forever home he deserves? Georgie is 7 years old, neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and triple tested negative for FIV, FelV, and heartworm disease. May Georgie’s tale find its happy ending—a cozy hearth, a patient heart, and a love that whispers, “You belong.” ** GEORGIE"S ADOPTION FEE IS HALF OFF FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER!! ** If you have the purrfect home for Georgie, please apply through the link below. https://serenityanimalhospital.net/cat-adoption-application/ Once your application has been processed, our adoptions team will reach out to schedule a meet and greet in person with Georgie. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our adoption fee includes the pets spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccines, FelV/FIV/Heartworm test and fecal check. Story
I’m heartbroken to write this post, but my wife and I are looking to rehome our beloved cats, Theo and Olive, due to changes in our family life. We adopted them as kittens in mid-2020 after they were strays, and they’ve been lights in our lives ever since. They are biological half-siblings and have been inseparable. Theo (male, long-haired, dark brown/black/white paws) is a friendly recluse. He loves playing with Olive and enjoys quiet time with his people, though he tends to hide when strangers visit. His favorite toys are a laser light and a mouse on a string. He sometimes scratches the couch, but a scratching post and regular nail trims keep it in check. Olive (female, medium-haired, orange/white/black) is an outgoing, playful sweetheart. She greets us with joy and loves cuddling, often being held like a baby. She also loves jumping high with her toys. We’d prefer to keep them together, as they are both wonderful companions.

Story
Meet Mista Jay!Get ready for a sad story! Mista Jay was found abandoned in his carrier at a vet`s office in northern Macomb County. At 9 years old, you can imagine how scary it was for him to be put in that circumstance. His owner left a note saying he was current on vaccines and that they could no longer care for him and hoped a good home could be found for him. Mista Jay was microchipped, but unfortunately the chip was never registered, so we were never able to make contact with his owner.Since being at MCAC, Mista Jay has been sad, confused, depressed and a little grumpy at times while he waited for his stray time to be done so he could be put up for adoption. Mista Jay is now ready to find his furever retirement home. He is a special adoption as he does have some quirky personality traits that make it really important that we find just the right fit for him.Based on our interactions with him from staff & volunteers we believe he would do best as a solo kitty in the home. We are looking for a cat savvy adopter that understands cat behaviors well and can tell when a cat wants to be left alone. Mista Jay loves head & chin scratches, and will seek you out when he wants attention. He loves to come sit in one of our cat volunteers laps when she spends time with him. But when he is done with cuddles he is done and will then need some alone time perched on a cat tree or another comfy spot in the home. He gives pretty clear `clues` as to being done with his ears and his tail that his adopter would need to be aware of, and respect his boundaries. He doesn`t seem interested in toys, but maybe with time he may change his mind about them.Mista Jay`s ideal home is a kid free zone where he can feel loved and secure again after his ordeal. He would prefer to be the only pet in the home. If you think you have the perfect home for Mista Jay to live out his golden years, come and meet him Mon-Fri between 10-4. You can fill out an application online here:https://www.macombgov.org/departments/animal-control/adoption-applicationMista Jay`s adoption fee is $25

Story
Meet Winifred, a young feline with a heart full of love. Despite her shy demeanor, she's incredibly sweet and friendly. Her gentle nature is soothing, making her the perfect companion for quiet nights in. Winifred is FIV+, which means she has a weakened immune system. Winifred will need someone to keep up with her yearly vet checkups to make sure any concerns are caught early. Research shows that FIV cats may have a similar life expectancy to uninfected cats. Winifred doesn't let FIV+ slow her down, she is happy and healthy even with FIV+. She's a purr machine, her loud, clear purrs can turn any bad day around. Winifred thrives in the company of other cats, her gentle nature allowing her to get along well with others. Other cats make her feel more confident and secure. Winifred will need a home with another kitty friend. Her sisters Sarah and Mary are available if you have room in your home and heart for two. With her fluffy, soft coat, she's a joy to cuddle with. Winifred's gorgeous spirit shines through in everything she does. She should be adopted because she has so much love to give. She just needs someone to give a shy cat a chance. Her quiet, gentle nature would make her the perfect addition to any family willing to give her the love and patience she deserves. Winifred is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Story
Boo Baby was born at 3:30 am on July 22, 2017 to mama Dylan, a rescue from an abusive situation. Boo baby was the runt of the litter of seven, but thrived with both mama’s milk and supplemental hand feeding. She is a smaller girl who is a chatterbox with lots of fur, and the fluffiest tail. She is needing a home without another cat. She was raised as a kitten with a dog, but was exposed to a very aggressive dog as an adult and can be very wary of them now. She would do best as an only child, and will love you tremendously. Boo was adopted by a loving family, and was doing well until a move last year. The male cat that had been with the family for many years before Boo, began to show distain toward her, and she was forced out of her litterbox. After months of working with a Veterinarian and a behaviorist, it was determined that Boo needed to be given a chance at a new life in a home where she will be an only cat. This decision was devastating to the family, but it was determined to be the best for all the cats and humans involved. Boo has been in foster care now for several months and is back in her litterbox, and as long as she is the only one using the box, without a cover, she is consistent. The only “accidents” are when the litterbox is not cleaned frequently, in which case, she uses the puppy training pad placed next to her box. The foster has seen no evidence of urine anywhere else in the two rooms Boo has to herself. Boo does take some time to warm up, but once she knows she is safe, she is a true love bug. She has a quirky habit of hissing, but this is not a warning, she will hiss while purring and begging for pets, she will hiss and purr as you get her wet food ready, and she will happily hiss while purring in your lap. All adoptions through AHSEM are foster to adopt with a two week trial period to ensure the animal is a good fit. Boo Baby is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.
