Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). I live in an area where stray cats are common. I set up a heated cat house on my porch, one cat kept returning to it. She started staying on the porch and I began giving her food and water. She kept coming back every day, and one day my boyfriend and I decided to bring her inside. I took her to the vet to get spayed, vaccinated, and checked for any health issues. The vet estimated she’s about 7 years old, and it was clear she had been pregnant multiple times in the past. I already have two cats, and while I gave her her own room to help her adjust, one of my cats (who has special needs) became aggressive toward her. Despite my best efforts, she’s been very scared outside of her safe space. She’s an incredibly sweet and affectionate cat. She loves cuddling, being brushed, and watching through the window. She needs a loving, patient home where she can feel safe and be the center of attention. I truly wish I could keep her, she deserves so much love and comfort in her forever home.

Sasha is a sweet and adaptable 12.5 pound former alley cat. She has had a few teeth removed due to dental surgery last year. She was estimated to be born 1/17/2017. She came into my life on 12/26/19, she was once an alley cat but climbed into the window of her first owners. She’s very adaptable. She is a loving cat who wants to be involved in whatever you are doing. She isn’t typically a lap cat, but she loves to snuggle in bed in the early mornings. She loves being around her person and will thrive in a home where she is included all the time. She is food-motivated and loves chicken wet food (fish is fine as a treat). She's adventurous. She loves to climb and explore her surroundings, so high spaces and window views are a must. She loves wand toys, tunnels, and "Catstages" dental toys. She is vocal but her needs are easy to understand and she wakes up early (6am) so automatic feeder is good if needed. She may be good with cats if slowly introduced.

Moo is a silly, playful, and a vocal girl. She loves affection and cuddling. Moo is 4 years old and has recently struggled with having others cat in the home this past year. Moo would thrive in a single pet home.

Bubba & Bistro are best buds. They came from a multi-cat home where someone passed away. During the rescue process they always followed us around showing concern for where their friends were going. Bubba & Bisto were rescued separately a couple weeks apart and during the time apart, they each were sad and lonely. When we were able to reunite them into the same foster home, their happiness to see each other confirmed their bond and strong pairing. They are 2 peas in a pod that love snuggling together. They are extra gentle and loving, friendly, and trusting. They love people and greet you with joy. They follow you around, come to you for petting, love to be pet and scratched. Bubba looks up at you with adoring eyes, while Bisto licks your hand to give you a kiss and thank you for your attention. They are loyal, sensitive and empathetic types that will make great companions for someone. Their personalities are mellow, laid-back, quiet but not shy, well-mannered. They will make great buddies for someone who likes to chill and hang out. Bubba is the handsome black & white shorthair, a bundle of love. The brown cat is Bistro, a magnificent longhair, possibly a Mainecoon/Norwegian Forest. They are both fixed and fully vetted. About 5 years old.
