Levy has been at Dakin for awhile prepping for her new home. She is a cat who knows what she wants and what she likes! She loves playing with toys - she will chase a crinkle ball, bat around some crumpled paper, and fly through the air chasing a wand toy. She likes to be in the center of the action listening to conversations, stealing pens off your desk, and knocking things to the floor if she thinks she can make them into a toy. Once she is settled in and knows her people, she will come over for some head rubs and attention. She prefers head rubs only - she is not a fan of full body petting and will let you know when you've crossed the line. If you're looking for an inquisitive, playful, companion, Levy may be the girl for you! Sassy cats are usually confident, intelligent and active. They often don't like to be held, or have places on their bodies that they prefer not to be touched. When handled or petted in ways they do not prefer, they are likely to swat, nip or bite. They will be happiest in adult only homes or those with older kids who understand cats that have rules and will leave them alone. If they are bored then they may get into trouble and often need extra playtime in order to be their best selves. Sassy cats will go home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for EVERYONE in the home to be happy. Typically, sassy cats are not for first-time cat owners. Yeti is a very special girl. She is estimated to be 9 years old and was found matted and dirty, struggling to survive on the streets last winter. Luckily, one of our volunteers was able to catch her and Yeti has spent the last 11 months in a foster home readjusting to indoor life. She was very scared for the first few months but even then, she would purr if you sat down next to her crate. Now, she’s graduated into a loving house cat and is looking for a permanent home to live the rest of her life in comfort! To our delight, she has decided she loves being pet and purrs like a maniac! She does well with other cats but would do best with a cat that matches her energy (very chill).
