Story
This deliciously handsome long-haired orange and white young adult male is called Creamsicle.  He is deliciously handsome and loving in spirit and temperament.   He was part of the cat colony on a rural property that a lady bought and inherited close to 40 cats. The rare element about this is that 99.9% of all the cats are loving and friendly and highly adoptable. Critter Calvary has meticulously worked on vetting all of the cats and getting them spayed and neutered. This boy is in a great foster home waiting for an even greater future for his life. His big fluffy tail is a signature and a is a calling card to stop you in your tracks to look at him. He is great with dogs, cats, new people and open to the best new life ahead with a family or just a gentle single person.  If you are interested in adopting this gentle Creamsicle, please write to Critter Cavalry at ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 25, 2024, 12:37 pm

Story
Katya is a sweet girl who loves to play with other cats and beg for pets at night. While she does use the litter box for #1 and #2, she has a habit of peeing on anything soft, from couches to pillows to beds and clothes. For that reason, I cannot continue to take care of her.

Story
Male, 2yo, DMH Personality: Friendly, Independent, and Calm. Don't let Drac's name scare you. His dramatic coat is his only similarity to a vampire. He is an absolute sweetie who loves every person he comes in contact with. He loves to be pet and hang out with his people. When Drac isn't cuddling he is working on his fetch game. While he's great at going to get a toy, his ability to bring it back is still very up in the air. Could you be the person to help Drac perfect his fetch game? Apply today to adopt him! _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a CAT: https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adoptable-cats.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats. Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Cat specific vetting: Rabies, FVRCP. Cats are tested for FIV and FeLV, when age appropriate, but not when born to a FELV/FIV negative mother in foster care. Kittens have age-appropriate vetting to date, which includes deworming, microchip, and the first FVRCP vaccine. Kittens born in care to a negative mother will not receive a FIV/FeLV test. An adopter will need to agree to cover costs of spay/neuter when he/she is age-appropriate (usually 16-20 weeks) and will need to continue his/her kitten vaccines (including rabies) as he/she grows older. Kittens under 12 weeks of age must be adopted in pairs or to a home with friendly resident feline. They will not be considered as singles.

Story
Beautiful long hair 5 year old boy, fixed, housebroken. Rafiki is very playful and active. He loves toys and running around the house. He always uses the litter box and does not scratch furniture. He is good about self grooming and does not shed. I recommend putting him on a hairball food. He does get along with other cats, just one at a time. The other cat should be docile as he will be the dominate cat. He does not get along with dogs or children, they stress him out a lot. Rafiki is a nice cat to have around but lives on his terms. He is not cuddling and does not like to be picked up or pet a lot. He will lay next to you on the couch and will play. I recommend an experience cat owner who can take the time to get him acclimated to his new environment. He can be tempermental at first but calms down overtime and can make a nice companion. I would love to find Rafiki a calm home where he is loved, spoiled, and understood.
