Story
Meet Patch! This owner surrender is so pretty that pictures don't do her justice! Her intense coloration plus her long coat are a deadly combo - not an everyday sight at all. Patches joined the FFAA family due to some difficult family circumstances - she is not comfortable around toddlers, and due to the precarious nature of her surrender's young child's health, a tough decision had to be made. If you are looking for a cat who is more like a roommate, Patches may be your gal! Full of personality in spades, this model-esque feline knows she's royalty. Her previous home described her as an seasoned couch potato who is quiet but not affectionate. She's not a party-cat - crowds make her nervous. Within her close circle, she's comfy with both men and women. She's been an inside cat for all 6 years of her life, and that's how she will stay, but do know that within the walls of her home she's a good mouser. Patches is a girl with hobbies and opinions. She can take some time to settle in, just like most cats (and the transition to a shelter environment has absolutely rattled her, so please take with a grain of salt her behavior while at our facility). Her favorite hobbies are a) sleeping, b) vibing, c) chilling, and d) stealing allllll the sunlight to soak up! Her devoted first family described quirks such as: attacking the feet of her owners if she becomes hungry during the night, VERY clear bids for attention by way of a well-aimed swat, and potentially lacking manners while she plays. However, to balance all this sass out, she was described as loving attention and pets and being a fantastic lap cat. After her appearance grabs your attention, don't be put off by the shy and prickly exterior she might show. Patches is a cat that was worshipped and catered to since infancy; her difficult adjusting to losing her home and everything familiar is not just understandable but expected. We are hopeful that someone will take a chance on her and give her the time and space she needs to adjust and bloom - and soon; cats are sensitive to stress, and there is no place more overwhelming than a shelter environment (busy, loud, sooo many smells). If you have any questions about Patches, send adopt.ffaa@gmail.com a message, call the facility at (417) 592-2512, or just drop in during our open hours! (Wed-Fri 12-7, Sat-Sun 10-4, Monday-Tuesday closed.)

Story
Shiloh joined us along with her companion Piper! We don't know much about her except that she was dumped and then dumped again - the person who found her unable to care for her. Shiloh was more than likely a housecat - she is litter box trained and very friendly. We don't know how long she'd been living rough before she came to us. She is likely a little bit older, but she still has so much love to give.

Story
Odessa is a four year old domestic longhair shy sweetheart. She was a stray in Iola that came in off our waiting list. She came in with three of her kittens ( Mairenn, Caryssa, and Timeka), she has now been separated from them because they`re old enough now and all of them are available for adoption. Odessa can be shy at first; but with love, patience, and time I`m confident she`s going to blossom into a cuddle bug. She loves being brushed and loves being called a pretty girl. She is litterbox trained and gets along with other cats, her favorite toy is feather wands and craves a good scratching pad. She has the quietest and softest meow when she wants attention, sometimes I don`t hear her until the other cats respond. Odessa`s adoption fee is $50 which includes her spay, up to date on all shots, deworming, flea treatment, nail trim, and a microchip.

Story
Artemis is a domestic longhair who would do best in a barn cat environment. He is very timid and doesn`t care for people. He may eventually come out of his shell in a home environment, but we can`t guarantee anything. He was a stray brought in by the city of Iola so we`re not sure what he`s been through. He is litterbox trained and does seem to do well with other cats. His favorite food is lickable treats and cool whip. He also enjoys a good scratching post and loves to lay in boxes and up high. Artemis`s adoption fee is $50 which includes his neuter, up to date on all shots, deworming, flea treatment, nail trim, and a microchip.
