Story
Gertie is an amazing 7 month tortie with the most beautiful silky hair. She and her brother Willie are both very shy and will take some time to feel brave but once they are comfortable look out! She is such a lover and will get very attached to her person. She loves playing with tunnels, wands, springs and about everything. She and Willie love to entertain each other and play so nicely then they are always up for a good nap together. And oh my, she loves her food! She is litter box trained and uses cat scratching posts. Probably no toddlers or hyper dogs at this point bc they will go into hiding. Older children will be fine. Gertie would love to be adopted with her brother Willie. She is spayed, micro chipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations, If you would like to meet Gertie, please fill out an application on the website MSCrescue.org

Story
Please contact Della @ (kittycityks@aol.com) for more information about this pet. Our adoption center is open both Saturday & Sunday every weekend! Saturday's noon-5pm & Sunday's noon-4pm. Ben and Jerry, brothers who were born outside. Thankfully they were rescued and a happy and safe life began for them. They are bonded to each other and must be adopted together. The kittens are still a bit shy towards humans but are getting more comfortable each day being handled. They are looking for a family that will gently teach them how great it can feel to snuggle with a person. They do enjoy being petted and they love to play with certain toys to entertain themselves. Ben is the more outgoing kitten, while Jerry is more reserved and prefers to watch what is going on from a safe place. They have clean litterbox habits and are good eaters--dry as well as canned food--and they love their treats. Getting adopted together and growing up together will be a very happy ending for the brothers. These kitties should get along with kids, other cats, and cat-friendly dogs given proper introductions. Ben and Jerry were born approximately July 20, 2024, and their combined adoption fee is $287.50. They are neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, are microchipped, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus. Come see these sweet handsome boys at our adoption center this weekend!  You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens during weekend business hours at our adoption center, address and times above. During the week, all our kitties live in licensed foster homes, and while most do come to the adoption center each weekend, not every kitty attends every weekend. For more information, or to confirm whether a particular cat or kitten will be present that weekend, please email kittycityks@aol.com.  Kitty City Kansas Rescue is a volunteer, non-profit organization.  November 3, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
Snowball came into rescue almost 2 years ago. She was an older kitten, but super sick. Her foster home was asked to treat her for her upper respiratory infection, so that she could then be released back to her colony outside. Snowball was a feral kitten that was TNR'd (Trapped, fixed and to be returned). She wears a badge of honor for her life as a feral kitty. She has a tipped ear, which indicates to humans that she has been fixed. Her foster mom treated her infection only to find out that Snowball is deaf, or mostly deaf. Snowball's deafness makes her fearful, which confirmed to Snowball's foster mom, that she could not be released back to her colony. Her survival in the outdoor would be full of perils. Snowball loves the other kitties that have come and gone in her foster room. She needs a home with humans that understand that she will come to them in her own time. . Snowball loves churu treat, and she likes being petted when foster mom scoops her up! If Snowball could find a cat savvy home, maybe someone that has had a deaf kitty, that would be ideal. A home with another chill kitty that could guide her and head bump with her would also be great! Snowball is ready for the next phase in her life . Are you her match?

Story
Smidge is a 1.5 year-old cat we rescued from outside when he was 5 weeks old. He's a sweet scaredy-cat who will typically do his own thing, just with a big feather boa-like tail! He was raised with a bull terrier and another cat, Queenie, so he would do fine with another dog or cat, as long as they were gentle and introduced slowly. Though Queenie and Smidge are from different litters and aren't inseparable, they would do better being adopted together. He gives cuddles occasionally, mainly in the mornings and, in true cat fashion, will let you know when he's ready for chin scratches and head pats; otherwise, he's good to just sit and enjoy the birds in the windowsill. He loves a feather teaser toy, a fake floppy fish toy, and the chicken flavored Temptation packet (liquid). We kept him inside but he loves when the windows are open so he can watch the birds and squirrels. If we weren't moving across country, we planned on getting him a little outside patio set up because he'd love it!
