Domestic Longhair kittens & cats in Grimes, Iowa

Spookaloo is 7 years old. He is a sweet boy who just wants snuggles. He loves to rub faces and follow you around the house. He will herd you to his food dish if he can see the bottom, even if there's still enough food in there to last for a week. He loves to go outside, but only under the cover of darkness. He will come back in within an hour every time. He gets anxious in new places. And will probably hide for the first week he's in your home. He does not get along with dogs and it's very rare he likes another cat. He does well with kids, but does not like to be played rough with. Rehoming due to an upcoming move and time away from home. The time away from home can be up to two weeks at a time. I want him to go to a home where his love cup will be filled daily and he can live out his days in comfort. I'm hoping I can find him a home through here. I do not want to put him in a shelter.

Lorelei and Autumn are Bonded Buddies. They'll be adopted as a pair.This cat has shown signs of overstimulation while in the shelter. Lots of handling, playing with hands, and excessive petting can cause them to overstimulate, which can result in scratching and/or biting. This cat is looking for experienced cat owners who will watch this cat's body language while interacting to note signs of overstimulation (tail waving, fur rippling, dilated pupils, ears turned back and quick body movements) and be willing to respect their boundaries. This cat will also benefit from interactive toys such as wands and ball spinners while playing. We are happy to speak with you more when you visit and can provide post-adoption resources. This cat is participating in our Camp Purr working cat program, which is designed for feral or semi-feral cats that would be happiest living outside as working cats. Adopters must provide shelter and food/water to these cats year round and need to be willing to work with our Camp Purr team to ensure these cats are acclimated appropriately and humanely to their new environment. Because these cats are familiar with the other cats they are living with currently, we require that all Camp Purr cats be adopted with at least one other Camp Purr cat.
