Story
Introducing Zaya (born 2023). Despite the heartbreaking loss of her own kittens, she found solace and purpose caring for a litter of the kittens orphaned in the April tornadoes that hit Nebraska and Iowa. With unwavering dedication and a gentle touch, she nurtures her newfound family, fiercely protective of their well-being. Zaya was found as a stray, so we don't know much about her personality yet, but her tender nature shines through as she lavishes her adopted kittens with affection. Please Note: Zaya is a nursing mom of the Twister Litter of kittens. Due to this she cannot move to her forever home until her kittens are fully weened and are around eight weeks of age. We encourage you to apply to adoopt Zaya so that we can process your application while we wait for her to be ready! The suggested adoption donation for Zaya is $65, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal healthcare totaling over $390,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than six months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $80 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger, than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $80 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##2042603##

Story
Here comes Pebblez, a friendly LongHair cat who is ready for her second chance (b. July 2022)! Pebblez is friendly with everyone - dogs, cats, strangers and kids of all ages.  She enjoys being active and playing with her toys.  If you're lucky, she might cuddle up beside you when she gets to know you.  Pebblez is a little particular with her food and will enjoy having her own personal space for dining.  She is litter trained and looking for a house where she'll get lots of love!   The suggested adoption donation for Pebblez is $65, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. Story
Meet Toula, a young kitty (born 9/2023) who loves cuddling and spending time with her brother Tupac. She can be shy at first, especially around men, but her sweet nature shines once she gets used to new people. She and Tupac are a perfect dynamic duo - she likes relaxing, while her brother likes playing. They're both litter-trained, get along other cats, and are good with kids.  Toula and Tupac would love a home with someone who's had cats before and can spend time playing with and snuggling with them.  The suggested adoption donation for Toula and Tupac is $120, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Needs special attention, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Bubbles is the best girl. This 9 year old beauty is looking for a home willing to adapt to her special needs lifestyle. She was surrendered for what we thought was a food allergy causing periodic vomiting. With some testing and vet visits, we found out she has GI lymphoma. Bubbles is now looking for a quiet and relaxed home to snuggle down in her remaining time. She is estimated to have around 18-24 months of a good quality of life with proper care and TLC. Her treatment plan is all set up, no emergency vet visits or procedures. She is currently comfortable and spends most of her days sleeping. She perks up for scritches and adores being brushed. She takes a daily walk around to check out the shelter and then goes back to her quiet space set aside for her where she is queen of all she can view. This is not an easy placement, and as much as we will miss her, we don't want her to spend the end of her life in a shelter. Bubbles truly deserves the world and our goal is to give it to her. She is looking for a home where her health can be monitored daily, with a specific diet and occasional medications.    The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures.  Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out, unless deemed medically necessary.  We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws. If you are interesed in any of our animals please fill out an application on our website www.townandcountryanimalrescue.org After you have submitted an application and been approved, a Cat Team member will reach out to set up a “meet and greet” between you and the pet. The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the cat team members or the foster. If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit.** Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission ##2124550##
