Story
Smokey came from a home with a large amount of cats, but was misunderstood by his owners and passed on. Smokey is a good cat, so sweet and loving. He has a big goofy personality. But he is skittish at first with new things, once you gain his trust though he opens up. Does well with other cats and all dogs, but high energy dogs tend to scare him a bit. He needs a home with more attention, I’m not in a the best position right now to spend time with him, he’s extremely lonely. And I don’t have the best finances to help him with his behavioral issues that have arisen recently. Those being making messes outside of litter because he had a uti which made it painful for him to use litter. He’s back to using the litter again but I can’t afford to treat another infection. And my living situation which causes him to be alone in a single room.

Story
Frowzy is a handsome, medium-coated orange tabby cat who was living outdoors, but clearly had been someone`s pet. His kind finder had him treated medically and brought him to Misty Eyes so that he can find a forever home indoors. He`s rather shy and nervous, but settles down with time. Frowzy is a FIV-positive kitty, but these cats can lead a fairly normal life. They may be somewhat more susceptible to infection than normal, but by living indoors, that possibility is reduced. They can also lives with other cats as long as they aren`t aggressive with each other, since FIV is spread by deep bite wounds. If you would like to meet Frowzy, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.

Story
Nicholas was originally found as a stray. Shortly after being placed in a foster home, he had a urinary blockage and required hospitalization. For this reason, he will need to be on a urinary food for the rest of his life. Currenly, he eats Hill's Science Diety c/d, and we will provide as many bags as we have on hand at adoption. Nicholas is a sweet cat who does well with the foster's cats. Like most cats, he needs a little bit of time to warm up and feel comfortable. He loves lounging in a window, and is an absolute sweetheart. He is neutered, vaccinated, FIV/FeLV negative, microchipped, dewormed, and on flea prevention

Story
Moose was in a set of cats we took in from around the Ft. Meyers local shelter. They were severely affected by the hurricane, and we drove down and took some animals to help and adopt out. We don't have history or his story. He was shaved when he came into the shelter in Florida, as there was hurricane debris stuck in his long hair, and no way to brush it out. Because of that, he will require medical shaving occasionally. He is the first one to greet you when you enter the room, and always wants pets. Don't let his age fool you, he is very active!
